I moved to Jamul late 2025. I've been searching for a great Mexican spot. I decided to try Hacienda Grill blindly. We ordered the chilaquiles and breakfast burrito on a Saturday AM. The food.. absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. They melt the queso on the grill with the eggs and filling then wrap it and put the burrito back on the grill to toast/seal it. Perfection!! I've been back multiple times for Aguachile, tacos.. the Pulpo/Chicharron tacos (not on menu) are the best thing I've ever eaten. Marco and his family/friends really know how to make you feel welcome and help navigate the menu. If you love spice., talk to Marco. It's off the charts!! Highly recommend. Make the trip. Stop off on way to casino.. whatever you do don't NOT go here :)

Amazing hot sauce but watch out!

We went off roading near by and stopped here for lunch after. Got the kids chicken taco, husband got adobada taco plate, I got pork and salsa verde plater. Everything was delicious, service and ambience were lovely. Cant wait to come back again.

Super pricey, I understand is the only food place in Jamul besides subway but jeesh 17 dollar breakfast burritos, fries were good but again they up there

Carne Asada, el pastor b, and one fish taco

Came here when I had a job out in jamul It was taco Tuesday, so $2.50 a taco They were decent size, they put them all in one container so it all got mixed up, the taste was just so so nothing special. I also asked if they sell sides of beans, she said yes and charge me $5.99 for a 16 oz side of beans, after I got my order, I walked out of the store, looked in the bag and realized there was no beans, when I went back in and told her, she seemed very confused and annoyed that I was asking for the beans, then she said, hold on one second, and brought out about a 2 ounce little container and told me here's your side of beans, I said " that is not 16 ounce" and she said yes it is, and I said again, no that is not and she said OK hold on, and as you can see in the picture attached, she went and got some plastic container. That is probably around 8 ounces filled it with beans and handed it to me. I was already over arguing, and I took the container and left. Very confusing I think could sell 16 ounces of beans and not even know how big 16 ounces is lol I would probably drive the distance to any other Mexican place around here next time. I'm out in the area.

We ate there for the first time on Sunday 5-5-24 approx. 2 pm. I really want this place to be good, because it is close and we need a good sit down Mexican food place in the Jamul with quality food. We were greeted and sat immediately. The menu has a good variety of dishes. We ordered beverages, I had an Iced Tea and my wife a Cabernet wine, we were also given water. The server was friendly and prompt, we were given chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and salsa was tasty. I had the Fajitas Supreme and my wife had the Chicken Flautas. I must be honest, the fajitas were not grilled, and we're cooked as if steamed. The shrimp and chicken were rubbery and the peppers and onions were not crisp. The beef was horrible! It was inedible, it was grissly and tough. (See picture). The chicken in the flautas was very dry. We will give this place another try, but the cook needs to look at the quality of the food they are serving if they want to build a good business. Jamul has great, faithful diners who will continue to patronize any establishment that provides good, quality service and product.

This is what the chicken looked like in the enchiladas

Went to get takeout & heard the food was good based on FB reviews. It's local & we like to support local. We got home, the chips were stale. My chicken enchiladas were beautifully presented & the chicken was old, withered & dry. Not edible. I ate the toppings, rice & beans. My husband's tostada was edible. I've posted a picture of the chicken. Really wanted this place to be good - they're close, lots of parking & service was good . They've also deleted several menu items & haven't been open that long. Won't be back

$2 Taco Tuesday is delicious. Good portions and great, hot tacos. Chips and salsa too. Try it out.

Jamul 23 - 160$ what a steal for king crab, dungenous crab, and lobster!

Jamul 33 is hands down the best buffet I've ever been to…read more We were fortunate enough to visit with a family friend who was able to bring guests on a weekday, and I'm still thinking about this experience. The buffet is located downstairs in the hotel lobby area, and from the moment we walked in, everything felt clean, elegant, and well organized. I also appreciated that it was adults only, which created a more relaxed atmosphere. The seafood selection was incredible. They had king crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, steamed lobster tails, and Puerto Nuevo-style lobster tails. There was also prime rib, large shrimp, fish, oysters, clams, and more. What impressed me most was that everything was fresh, well stocked, and impeccably maintained. There were no restrictions on seafood and no special "crab night" or "lobster night"--it was all available during our visit. For seafood lovers, this place is heaven. Even if seafood isn't your thing, there are plenty of other options. During our Monday visit, they had chicken dishes and Filipino favorites like pork lumpia and pancit, along with a variety of other Asian-inspired offerings. The salad selection was excellent as well. The dessert station was simple but very well done. Highlights included chocolate-covered strawberries, macarons, carrot cake, tiramisu, and my personal favorite--the small chocolate-filled donuts. A special shoutout to our server, Panya, who provided outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience. The quality, freshness, variety, and service were all exceptional. I may have a hard time enjoying other buffets now because I'll definitely be comparing them to Jamul 33.

THE SERVICE: I called a few days ahead to make a Sunday…read morebrunch reservation for a party of four for the lobster buffet. I was told that reservations, were not necessary since it was first come, first served. Knowing how busy Sundays can get, I intentionally arrived early, around 9:30 am, only to be told by the hostess that I actually needed a reservation. After explaining that I had called ahead, to make one, she said there was nothing she could do. Instead, she directed us to the nearby counter and suggested we wait to see if seats opened up. At one point, two seats opened up together and one was available at the other side of the bar. Since we were celebrating a birthday with a party of four, we took about two minutes to decide whether it was worth splitting up while waiting for a fourth seat to open. During that time, the server rushes us and came across as extremely rude. Mind you, I already had my card in hand because you have to pay upfront. Before we have even made a decision, she took my card and charged me for two people. I told her I wasn't ready to pay because we hadn't decided yet, and the gesture left a sour taste. I ended up having her cancel the charge. Disappointed, we went back to the hostess to ask if there were any other restaurants on the property open that early. She answered our question but then offered to see if she could seat us at the buffet after all. By this point, it was around 10:15am. She asked us to wait another 30 minutes, and said we might be able to get a table. We waited. We were finally seated around 11:20 am. Luckily, the mimosas from the bar held us over. What surprised me most was seeing so many empty tables around us. There seemed to be plenty of servers working the buffet, yet several tables remained empty, which left me wondering why the way was so long. THE FOOD: I came for one reason: the lobster. It did not disappoint. They had both Baja lobster and regular lobster, along with several types of crab legs and fresh oysters. At $59, the buffet was definitely worth it. The chilaquiles were decent , although the dessert selection left much to be desired. Aside from the confusing runaround and long wait, the food was good and the buffet was cleaned and maintained. Maybe they were just having an off day. I'd be willing to give them another try and will gladly update my review if they experience is different next time.
