The seafood here is very good. The breading is light and it has a very nice flavor. The drum fillets were well cooked and tasty. The fried shrimp were fresh tasting and delicious. This place was fabulous!! The food was outstanding, starting with the customary chips and salsa...salsa was delicious! The chicken fried steak was hearty and not over battered, topped with tasty cream gravy. My wife's texas plate with the superfecta of Mexican cuisine, rice, beans, enchiladas, and carne guisada was just as delicious. Next time we visit, we will try the fried fish and shrimp plate as that was all over the restaurant as well. Great place!! read more

Please note that this place is also called Morgan Street Market and Seafood. Came here for dinner tonight based on the recommendation of a coworker who had eaten here before while staying in Corpus for work. I was a little worried because it doesn't seem to be located in a great part of town. I also wasn't expecting it to be a Mexican Seafood Restaurant. The place is super clean inside, albeit undecorated and cheap. And there's a funky smell of cleaning solution when you walk in. But this was about the only negative that I have to say. We were able to seat ourselves anywhere we wanted. The menu was extensive with choices for about every taste. All the options were in both Spanish and English. Service was prompt and friendly. My coworker and I had a hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. She eventually settled on the garlic grilled shrimp and I asked for the Shrimp Diablo. Luckily the server warned me it was super spicy, so I ended up also ordering the garlic shrimp. Right after, the server dropped off a small sample of the diablo sauce for me to try and she wasn't joking! It was a slow burn, but extremely hot and long lasting! Glad I went with something else. The food cake promptly and the plate was HUGE! We got fresh, homemade guacamole, Spanish rice, lettuce with tomatoes, French fries, and shrimp and grilled onions. All for $10!!!! And the shrimp was delicious! There were 12 large shrimp that tasted super fresh, grilled onions, and chinks of fresh garlic. She also brought buttered pieces of toast for the side. So I called in for an order to go and the girl on the other end asked me to hold. Time passed for about 8 minutes but while on hold I heard her giggling and gossiping about either customers or employees and would tend to customers paying their bill. I hung up and called back about 2 minutes later. The same girl(with limited English) answered and I asked if they were taking orders and she started laughing and said yea. I stated that I had called and was on hold for several minutes and she said was sorry and started laughing again. I placed the order but decided to cancel it due to who knows what they would've put in my food. I highly do not recommend this place based on poor customer service. I was in town visiting someone that lives in Corpus and asked, where do you and your wife go for lunch, and we ended up here. As you enter and walk past the fish market, it's not much to look at. The inside is the same. What makes this place so good is the food and the service. I ordered the #60 and it was awesome. The shrimp and oysters were so fresh. What a great surprise. This place was recommended to me by a friend in Houston and it was every bit as good as they said it would be. If you want some authentic Mexican food this is the place. This placed was very busy and we were lucky to hear some mariachi music. Lots of menu choices. My husband and mom tried the drum and said it was delish. I ate here with my family a few nights ago. We were hesitant upon arrival, because from the outside it seemed to be less than desirable. Do NOT let that stop you from visiting. We were instructed to seat ourselves, and it wasn't long before we were served drinks, chips, and salsa while we looked over their extensive menu. Seriously, there are SO many choices, especially if you love seafood. My shrimp enchiladas were absolutely amazing. They were served with beans and rice. I really enjoy their breakfast because they do not over-salt their food. I also enjoy their dinner. I would say they have the freshest seafood in Corpus Christi, which is sad because we are by the water. Anyway My only complaints are about the shady neighborhood, I was once approached by scary-looking panhandler. I also find the bathrooms atrocious, I don't even want to think about that. After hearing about this place so many times, we finally went. I was all built up about how good it's supposed to be. It was kind of a let down. It was ok, but not fantastic. The fried oysters were great! However, I shit you not, I had a pearl in my oyster! See the picture I posted! Kinda cool, cause I didn't bust a tooth. The fried shrimp were gorgeous, and large. Hubby had the fried drum. Also a generous portion. The fries and salad were pretty weak. Overall, the fried food was pretty good, but lacking salt, and I am not one to salt food. Another great Mexican food place in Corpus! I know we have 1000 Mexican food restaurants but most are not great at all. This one is worth the drive for sure. Fresh real authentic food is hard to find. Amazing corn tortillas and some super hot sauce if you want it. I chickened out but the food was so good you didn't need it. Chips and salsa was top notch too. I will say it was a little loud and outside there was a really bad trash smell since the dumpster was in the front. You don't eat outside so totally not that big of a deal. Great staff and food at a great price means I will be back. read more
