It's been two years since my last review of The Hub in Gig Harbor. The food is still absolutely delicious. I've never had a bad meal here and we order take out frequently. Service can be hit or miss. When I've gone, it's never busy, and seating is adequate. Food is always fresh, hot, and really tasty! Great meal in Gig Harbor. Still recommend!

This is not a "smash burger. "

I really was disappointed. I ordered a smash burger. That's what they call it in the menu! This was just a burger. No smash?! Cold fries. Also had a hard cider that was good. The service was good , I sat at the bar and was served quickly by attentive bartenders. As far as ambience, I didn't know it was "airport day" and the place was full of families enjoying that.

    The exterior.

Dropped by today for a light lunch of fried calamari with spicy aioli and lemon, and a large anchovy and olive pizza, along with three Arnold Palmers. Food and drinks were great, and service was exceptional. Because it was a rare warm and sunny day in the harbor today, we opted for outdoor seating and enjoyed a nice view of the small planes landing and taking off. They have a kids' menu with a lot of choices, too. Will definitely be back with the kids soon.

Pretty good food, but I can understand how the reviews would be hit or miss. I only tried two things there. The fish tacos are absolutely to die for. Truly great. The Reuben was Definitely not good. Chewy, rubbery meat full of unrendered fat, not the best. The staff is sweet and attentive. While its gimmick is being able to sit on the ramp and watch the planes, but it's not a very interesting airport. Every now and then a flight school plane will take off/land, but really not much to see. Also, no air conditioning. It is HOT.

Stopped in here with some friends; first visit. The staff was friendly and attentive. As a group we tried several different pizzas; all were tasty, but standard.

Probably our favorite places to take our young boys. Best beet salad I've had. Can't beat the location. Love the beer/cider selection.

There is often a food truck, so if you don't mind that kind of setup there is at least food available across the lot. No servers or bussers as far as I noticed, so you get your own stuff and clean up after. Also no bar, just beer and wine. And I have had Seven Seas beers many times, and haven't really found one I would go back for. Lots of people love their beer, I'm not saying it's bad! Just not for me. Service is minimal at best. In the times I have been there, it's been one beertender, no service at your table and service at the bar has been less than great. Not particularly friendly, just .... there. If you've never been, I'd recommend checking it out for the experience. But the Tides is also right there and in my opinion such a better experience. Also parking is VERY limited, so you may have to park a block or two away.

THE SHORT OF IT: - If you like ciders and/or pinball, this…read moreis your place. THE INSIDE: - About 6 barstools overlook the sunken pit area where pinball lives. I haven't seen the usual setup, but I'm assuming there's usually tables and chairs in the middle. THE FOOD: - Kitchen is currently closed, but outside food is more than welcome. Snack foods (chips, peanuts, similar) available at register. THE CIDERS: - I had a flight and they were all amazing. Standouts were: vanilla bean (sweet but not too sweet; light, refreshing, true vanilla flavor) and dark maple (not saccharine sweet; just on the edge with a dryness and truly outstanding flavor... dangerously delicious). - I kept expecting all of them to be overly sweet; but they all kept surprising me. Watermelon was another favorite. SERVICE: - Quick and kind with a smile. You'll love the vibes. SIDE NOTES: - We traveled from the Seattle area as Locust Cider had the Winchester Mystery House pinball machine on loan for the weekend. Only 500 were made, and this is currently the only one in the state. Your next closest is Next Level Museum in Oregon if you want to play this extraordinary machine. It's worth it! - We came on a salsa lesson night, so most pinball machines were blocked by tables. That's alright because 7 were unblocked and provided plenty of entertainment while the salsa lessons happened. - I think pinball + salsa music + sipping refreshing ciders is the new best way to enjoy a Saturday night. EDIT: some spelling mistakes on my part, oops.

First of all, the property is huge with various areas to hang out in. There's an indoor space downstairs, and upstairs space with a bar and video games, uncovered and covered outdoor patio areas with equipment for live musicians, and a little forested enclave with seating and a fireplace. Beyond their awesome ambiance, their ciders were all varied and delicious. They have 26 taps to choose from. We tried a bunch of their 4oz pours. My favorites turned out to be (surprisingly) their seasonal Chai and their Honey Pear, but each one that I tasted was unique and flavorful. I felt the intentionality in each one. They have a full food menu that includes gluten free tater tots and chicken nuggets. Service was awesome, by the way. Two of the kegs we wanted to try had blown, so the bartender brought us a few extra pours for having to wait. I'm super bummed that I never made it back for a second visit. I implore you to try this place if you haven't!

We got some spirits here. I got some miniature bottles of vodka and whiskey and Steve got a spirit that has an amazing Earl Grey flavor so we definitely had a nice purchasing "Hurrah" here before this location closes.
