Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a food truck court... lost and unable to make a decision on what truck to eat at? You stare, you look left, then you look right, then left again. You haven't made any progress. Hours have passed. You start to pray. You ask for a sign to help guide your decision. Then, an angel shows up when you need one most. Welcome to my experience with Sol Brothers BBQ food truck. My brothers and I found ourselves hungry and indecisive at the Maui Food Truck of Kihei . There were so many food trucks it was hard to decide. We walked in circles for what seemed like hours. Then we noticed a man, unbothered by BBQ sauce smeared all over his cheeks and upper lip, walking confidently to Sol Brothers Southern BBQ food truck. The next thing he said changed our lives forever. He told the man inside the window "this is quite possibly best BBQ I've ever had. And easily the best ribs and brisket I've ever had. And I'm a bodybuilder, so I would know". Sometimes the universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them. Thank you bodybuilder man for guiding me with your light when I was at my lowest and needing inspiration. anyways ... The food was as advertised. It was truly delicious. We ordered the baby back ribs sandwich, the jerk chicken sandwich, a plate of ribs, and a side of Mac n cheese. I would have to agree it was some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The ribs were fall off the bone The jerk chicken had a delayed kick of spice with excellent flavor. The Mac n cheese... Yup! Delicious! And best for all, the people working the truck are great people. We loved chopping it up with them while we waited for our food 100/10 food and experience! This was by far the best food truck in the food truck court.

Kihei, Maui - Sol Brothers BBQ If you're looking for legit, real Southern BBQ, look no further than Sol Brothers. This place is the real deal--all the savory, smoky flavors are on point, and you can taste the care in every bite. Shona took great care of us, and the service was just as good as the food. If you like it spicy (like Shona!), make sure to ask for the hot sauce. Highly recommended. Jordan

I was at the Maui Food Trucks of Kihei lot and although we had already ordered dinner, we couldn't pass up the chance to try a new food truck. There's a number of other trucks on the lot, but the smell of smoked meats made it impossible not to stop at Sol Brothers BBQ. Their menu covers all the bases--slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, jerk chicken, hearty sandwiches, and classic Southern sides. We ordered the brisket plate, and it was seriously loaded. The brisket came sliced thick with just the right amount of smoky bark and was tender enough to pull apart with a fork. Flavor-wise, it was rich and deeply smoky without being overpowering. On the side, the mac n' cheese was creamy and indulgent with that homestyle comfort food feel, while the BBQ beans were bold, slightly spicy, and had just the right touch of sweetness. Portion sizes were generous too--we could have easily shared and still left full. What makes Sol Brothers extra special is that it's a family-owned truck bringing a taste of Alabama BBQ all the way to Maui. The family's warmth shows through not only in the food, but in the service too. It's Southern hospitality with island vibes, and was a great spot to grab a bite. If you find yourself in Kihei, this spot is a must-try. Just come with an appetite, because the plates don't hold back.

If you want BBQ this should be your go too! The owners start smoking/cooking the meet at 4 in the morning, and the results are incredible. The brisket is mouthwatering, perfectly tender and full of flavor! Their ribs fall off the bone and are finger licking good. The Jerked Chicken is moist and has an awesome kick to it; I'm sweating just thinking about it. As for the sides, you gotta go for the steamed cabbage, it's positively dripping with umami! It's always my go to side when I order. The fried rice is also great when it's available (sells out fast). The owners are super friendly, you can often see the husband out next to the grill and he is always happy to strike up a conversation while you wait for your food. Super friendly!

I'm not use to food trucks serving such amazing food and was pleasantly surprised. We split the ribs, rice, salad and a small mac-n- cheese for dinner. The rib sauce had a nice balance of both smoky and sweet which balanced nicely with the salad dressing. The ribs were very tender and fell off the bone. The mac-n-cheese was very creamy and had a little hint of spice to it. We indulged in ribs at the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook- Off in Northern Nevada and this place could easily be a perfect contender. The cashier was also vey friendly and personable and the food came out quickly.

    No stone was left unturned.

Leave no stone unturned--this BBQ spot is the real deal. The southern BBQ flavors were incredible, and my lunch hit every note. The brisket tasted like true Texas cooking but better--super tender, beautifully marbled, and not a dry bite in sight. The BBQ sauce was uniquely delicious (I don't even like BBQ sauce and still wanted more). The fried rice with sausage was perfect. My only personal note: the cabbage was a bit heavy on seasoning and peppers for my taste, but still had that southern flair. Overall, everything was absolutely scrumptious . I didn't plan to leave a review, but the food was so good I had to--hence the title. 10/10, would order again and again.

My husband and I had a food tasting of several food trucks for dinner tonight. We tried the jerk chicken entrée at Sol Brother's Southern Barbecue today, and it was a good choice! The chicken was moist, and the sauce had a nice touch of heat that added great flavor. The beans leaned slightly on the sweet side but were still tasty. The rice, however, could've been cooked a little longer, as it was a bit al dente. The service was quick, and the prices were reasonable, which added to the overall experience. The food truck setup in Kihei is always a treat, especially around sunset. There are plenty of tables, and it wasn't too crowded, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal.

The BBQ is incredible! The sides of baked beans and Mac n cheese the best you ever have had. Ribs are fall off the bone tender. Don't miss it!

Got their BBQ Mac and Cheese sandwich and it paired well with the chips and pickle that came with it! It was a full-bodied smoky flavor mixed in with the savory cheese flavor, would definitely recommend as a visit if you're in the Azeka area! - Miguel Morales Photography

Smoked Brisket plate, baked beans & mac n cheese

Was craving some good BBQ and Sol Brothers delivered!! We got a smoked brisket plate & brisket sandwich with mac n cheese and beans as sides. Not only were the flavors perfect, the portions were perfect for my family of 3. Felt like we totally got our moneys worth, and as a foodie I TRULY enjoyed everything. The customer service was impeccable and they were very quick. Highly recommend

My family and I were looking for a place to grab lunch recently while we were in Kihei and were drawn to an aroma that smelled really good. We found that aroma coming from Sol Brothers Southern BBQ truck. They were located at a food truck park with a couple of other food trucks. However, the aroma lured us to try this truck and we were happy we did. We ordered a BBQ Chicken Plate, a BBQ Chicken Sandwich, a BBQ Rib Sandwich and a BBQ Rib Plate. The food tasted as good as it smelled. It was also a nice change of pace from what we were enjoying on our trip. Both the BBQ Chicken and BBQ Ribs were really good and flavorful. Service was fast and efficient. We were glad we came upon this food truck.

We got our picture with the fabulous owner!

The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

We came here twice and I got the 3 bao slider combo each time. - The BAO*CHICKA*BAO*BAO was one of my favorite sandwiches. - My second favorite was the ISLAND PIGGY. I got this both times. - the LITTLE PIGGY was good, but a little overhyped in my opinion. But good to try. - the DUCK DUCK GOAT was wildly disappointing. As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS. Huge portion so that was nice. But the kalua pork was pretty watery and made the crispy tots go soggy pretty fast. Overall a solid spot. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Frank B has dined & approved of this Thai Food truck in Kihei due to orgazmic dining experience served up in a bowl. YES folks I LOVE Thai Mee Up's culinary delights so much I've stopped counting I make my way to the truck. First off the truck itself looks clean & regal especially with the giant elephant located on the roof. It looks clean , smells clean and with the giant plasma TV's show you what's about to be served you'll feel safe about your choices. Simple order process and then after 10 mins your order is called out and ready for pick. Every dish I've dined on has its own taste signature and is rapturous to the body.. My top food choices is Garlic Shrimp ,Pad Thai with Shrimp and Ribeye & Lobster. I'm sure you'll agree with FRANK THIS OLACE IS GREAT !

Maybe the shrimp, crispy pork or pad thai would be more memorable.
