(It was used 1 year.) Yesterday's service is what most impressed me, though: I've been to 4 Kia dealerships in 4 different states with this vehicle, and this has been hands-down the best. I was served by J.R., who is an excellent communicator and a very patient and kind person. So often at dealerships I feel like the service rep is just spitting jargon at me so I'll worry and spend more money. J.R. did make recommendations for future service, but said nothing is urgent right now so I can go home and decide later if I want to. No pressure. Just informative, clear, and helpful. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because, over the phone, I was told that my safety recall fix would take 1 hour. When I arrived, I was told it could take up to 3 1/2 hours. That's a pretty big discrepancy, and suggests that the service department isn't communicating well with the ladies who take appointments. In the end, my visit lasted somewhere between 1 and 3 1/2 hours, but I had also added an oil change, a horn check, and a car wash in the meantime, plus J.R. warned me about the possible wait as soon as I arrived. So in the end the wait was understandable; I just think the ladies taking appointments need better information! Will definitely be back here for service in the future. They took vehicle and changed oils and did an expensive diagnostic test to confirm indeed the relay was shorting out. They did not have said part in facility...so ordered it told me it would be in on a Tuesday, I explained my day off is Fridays, so set appointment for Friday. Showed up for said appointment which was then told I did not have. Now waiting in their lobby for the work to be a fit in. Not only are they OVER Priced, they are inefficient at getting work done in a timely manner! Would not recommend to any one. Oh and they did I not even look at extended warranty!!!!

What is so surprising is that they are still trying to sell this car and I do not think they have replaced the AC in it. I spoke/wrote three different people (I will refrain from mentioning any names that were involved in this subject) and I truly feel they do not give a damn. Once I stared the car, I turned on the AC and it did not come on at all. I told the salesman that the AC is broken and it is the compressor. They are trying to sell a car without AC and NOT disclosing this defect. I do not know how can you expect anyone to buy a car from a dealership and before driving it out of the parking lot, you expect the buyer to spend ~ $2,000 in repairs. This is beyond disgusting. Once the salesperson had the AC checked, he came back with ~$2,000 written estimates to fix the AC and expected me to agree! The car is advertised as having an "A/C" BUT, it actually does not since it is NOT working at all. It is like selling a car and then telling a customer that if you want tires and steering wheel to go with it, you need to buy them separately. This is not how things work. This is false and misleading advertisement and you should know better. I do not see how did you not know that the AC is not working at all??? You are a car dealership after all and you see/inspect cars all day and every day. Before coming to see the car, I asked ( in writings) two questions: make sure that the AC and the power windows are working properly and I was told that you have the car "fully MD inspected" and this means all in working order, but that is not the case.

Frederick Subaru does an in-person tech review 30 days after purchase to make sure I'm comfortable with all the features and that I'm not confused by or have any lingering questions about my new vehicle, and Tyler is the person who handles this. I've already made my appointment for this next month. I can't praise everyone involved enough, they were all very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and great to work with. They've had too many chances to earn my trust, and they spent just shy of 10 years quietly eroding it. My biggest regret is that it took me this long to realize it. On multiple service visits, questions were asked and badly answered, or just left unanswered. At 55K miles, they reported both front wheel bearings needed replacing with no clear explanation why they would fail that early, but I let them do it. Eighteen months later, they flagged the right-front bearing as needing replacing again. When I pointed out they replaced it before, they checked their records, then reported the mechanic found a loose mounting bolt, an easy fix. I had to point out from memory what was in their own records. After a later visit, I found a stray 15mm bolt bouncing around on top of the belly pan causing metallic sounds on bumps. At best, negligence; at worst, there's a crucial missing bolt somewhere that I couldn't find. In ANY case, all I could do was try not to worry. At today's 90K-mile service, they recommended replacing the front brake rotors (@$350) along with the pads. The pads needed changing, but they told me the rotors had no scoring, no warping, and were otherwise confirmed to be in working condition. When I asked why they wanted to replace them, they said, "That's our policy when we change brake pads." The service manager repeated the same thing, adding, "You have to change the rotors when you change the pads", and got defensive when I pressed further. They had no reason, only a revenue policy. Any one of these might be an isolated mistake. Together, they describe a business where quality control and straight answers fall woefully short. I talked to them more than once about my experiences and received "understanding" and assurances that were never realized. In my opinion, Frederick Subaru (Frederick Motors) should not be given your business. They're certainly not getting mine anymore, and I'm embarrassed it took me this long to decide.

My lease was just about up (1 month left) on my Range Rover Evoque and rather than turn it in and break even I figured why not see if I had a little equity in it since I was so far under the allotted mileage. So my first stop was CarMax in Frederick, MD - top notch place and very professional but they offered me right at what the lease payoff was. I was pretty bummed. On my way back to the interstate for a defeated drive back to my home in WV I passed guy holding a Cash Money Cars sign. I said what the heck and stopped and asked for directions there, conveniently a few minutes from CarMax. There I met Tony, a very easy going guy and senior buyer who explained the process start to finish with no pressure and no BS. He gave me an offer within 20 minutes for more than $2000 over the CarMax offer. I told him I'd consider it and sat on the offer for about a week. I was just about to go ahead and trade my Evoque towards my new car but then Tony called and followed up and went through the process one more time - he said we could have it done in under 40 minutes. So I went there the past Friday, sat down and did the paperwork, and walked away with a nice check for my leased vehicle - all in under 40 minutes. And just an FYI, it's very rare to walk away TO THE GOOD on any leased vehicle, you are usually lucky if you just break even. I admit I was skeptical at first but without a doubt I would do business with Cash Money Cars and Tony again. Do yourself a favor and skip CarMax and go straight to these guys.
