small little shop. good assortment of cookies, decent variety of baked goods - turnovers, scones, cinnamon rolls, pretzel rolls, crumb/coffee cakes, various loaves, etc. cookies near the bottom of the case looked a little slopily decorated. probably not the best thing to keep at the front of your display case. picked up 4 pieces of apple crumb cake ($2.75 a squre slice (ouch!)) for the fam and an apple turnover for the car ride home. needless to say, the apple turnover did not make it home, as i devoured it whole. flaky crust, not overly sweet filling, chunks of apple. delish. the crumb cake was a little disappointing. absolutely beautiful to look at, not as great to eat. a very dense cake with waaay too much topping - every bite was literally a bite of hardened sugar butter. only found one piece of apple in my entire square piece. maybe i'm just not a crumb cake kinda person...? i wont hold my crumb cake experience against them, but i do have to dock a star for the prices, and another for the not-so-helpful kid behind the counter. will definitely pick up another turnover if i'm in the area, but would never go out of my way for this place. read more

I don't know much about this place but I sure as heck know a lot about desserts due to my killer sweet tooth fangs always on the prowl for some sugar. What is there to say besides this place is delicious!! I tried some crescent shaped cookies covered in powdered sugar and they were amazing. This little bakery is a little of the beaten path in Geneva, but well worth it! I have been here on multiple occasions and it is a wonderful place to stop in for some very yummy treats! Their really isn't any place to sit and eat here, so we usually just pick up some yummy baked goods and head on over to Grahms to sit and sip our drinks while enjoying our treats from Hahns. Great bakery! This was my first visit, and I purchased 3 different items. At almost 2:00 p.m. on a Tuesday, the selection was as if the had just opened. Price for 9 pastries: $19.38 with tax. Linzer Cookies (vanilla and chocolate creme filled): They were fresh and delicious. Even after being in my car for an hour in the 95 degree heat. Crumb Cake: WOW!!! This may be the best crumb cake I've ever eaten. Moist and flavorful. It's amazing how many bakeries get this wrong, but not this bakery. Smiley Faced Cookie: A bit stale. Sorry. It's not the prettiest and cleanest bakery I've ever seen, but the service was really good and the pastries were even better. read more

Two words: crumb cake. Moist, sugary, loaded with crumbs on top cake. I frequent their table at the Wheaton French Market and stop in when I visit Geneva. The bakery itself has what appears to be dozens of sweet treats to choose from but I always stick with the crumb cake. As much as I want to support local, it's time for this bakery to change! Here's my attempts to support them and epic fails from them to serve their community: 1) They promote donuts but only sell them 2 times a week! O...K...? 2) I had an employee tell me to move my car as I parked in front of the store (legit parking spot). I asked why and he said he was 'saving a spot' for a customer! Ummmm...I thought I was a customer?!? I didn't argue and left. 3) Friday evening (10/20/17) I walked into get some bread and the guy behind the counter was so stoned he could barely help me. 4) But worst off...it was Monday September 18, 2017 and I hoped to buy some fresh pastry items and was looking at packages of 4... however they only had 3 in them! When I asked why they had been open and only 1 removed I was told that they sell individual pastries at yesterday's Farmers Market. So they're NOT fresh! I found that very odd and quite honestly very disgusting! When I tried to ask if they would sell them to me individually he said no. I asked to negotiate in price and he said no. Obviously they are still opened because of some Geneva legacy...because it surly is not due to there customer service, cleanliness and clean-cut employees! SAVE YOUR AND GO ELSEWHERE. read more

I gave Hahn's a try, only because the Cocoa Bean was closed, but I wish I had just kept driving and saved myself the money and calories. The crumb cake is supposed to be a specialty, but it tasted like nothing--nothing at all, except oil, maybe. A cake that is oily and tasteless is not my idea of a specialty. There was one piece to split among 4 of us, and after a bite or two, no one would eat more, so it is still sitting here. The blueberry scone was no better than okay. It was superior to a supermarket scone, but not nearly as good as ones I turn out of my completely unprofessional kitchen at home. Again, there was very little flavor. A little lemon zest or cinnamon could have made it less bland, but as it was, bland is the best word to describe it. The cookie was standard, bakery-cookie fare. The best pastries! We ended up in here by chance. After lunch we wanted dessert. First we walked into a coffee shop that served mainly chocolate. My small coffee came in a dixie cup. Never have seen that before. It was a cappuccino so I paid over two dollars for that. Then we were trying to decide on dessert...but nothing under eight dollars. Went in for the first time in a while and bought a loaf of rye bread last Friday. Had to deal with a young, brain-dead clerk who obviously did not know a loaf of bread from a doughnut hole. I was in the area house sitting for a friend and wanted to visit an old-fashioned, traditional type of bakery for a fresh cinnamon roll on a cold and rainy morning. After tracking this bakery down on my Google maps app, I drove about 10-15 minutes to get there. There was an elderly couple ahead of me who seemed to be regulars and bought several items, so I thought I'd get a great product and be on my way. Several items looked tempting, but I settled on getting a cinnamon roll with icing and a cinnamon chip scone. I paid $4 plus tax and took the items to go, but decided to sample them when I got to my car. I was really surprised and disappointed by what I experienced. Both items were dry and hard, and the scone was very crumbly (beyond what it should be). I'd picked the specific cinnamon roll I had because it was smaller than the rest and it seemed like the middle part of a larger roll--which is the part that's supposed to be ooey gooey yummy, right? Not the case here. I had to yank the hard outer crust away, and even then, the cinnamon roll was not edible. I ultimately just didn't feel like dealing with getting a refund, so unfortunately I wasted my time, money and the food because I threw both away. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I am SO mad right now.This was my second visit to this Bakery...the first time it was the week of Thanksgiving and I was looking for a pumpkin pie. When I got inside the racks were filled with cookies and breads. The cakes and pies were very sparse and what they had looked a few days old. ( I came in in the AM) so I thought I would have a fresh selection. My instincts told me to walk out and go elsewhere. I did. This past Sat. Jan 17. after my hair appt. across the street it was about 2:45 pm...prpbably a little to late in the day to buy bakery, but I thought I'd give them a try once again..I had a dinner party the next day and needed to bring dessert. I thought I could find something. I purchased 4 strawberry whipped cream puffs (they looked yummy) ...a LARGE slice of carrot cake for my husband and myself for our dessert that night. When we went to eat the carrot cake Saturday night, it was so dry and hard we couldn't even chew it. This cake must have been a week old it was so dried out! However the frosting was good...but I still had to dump our dessert in the trash. At this point I was worried about my strawberry cream puffs. Before I purchased them I told the young man I needed them for a dinner party the next day and asked him if they would still be fresh and he said Oh, yah....well after just experiencing the carrot cake disapointment I was NOT going to take the chance so I opened up the cream puffs and put a fork in one only to find out the whip cream filling was stale... it tasted like the refridgerator... the cake was very wet and soggy and the strawberrys turning dark. There was NO WAY I could bring these to a dinner party! I tossed them and $20 right in the trash! On my way to the dinner on Sunday I had to stop at whole foods and purchased a fruit tarte. So....my advise on this place...walk right by unless you want a cookie or a loaf of bread! My next visit to Geneva will be to the Coco Bean on 7th!!!! read more

I've been here numerous times and it's consistently not fresh. (I usually go once every other year thinking it must have improved since last time...not happening again!) There were also cookies drying/cooling where customers are walking past which is unsanitary. I paid nearly $16 for 7 decorated cookies (and not large ones I'd like to add). I discovered Hahn's Bakery at the Wheaton French Market where they have a huge stand every Saturday. I have become addicted to their cinnamon rolls iced in cream cheese frosting. Enjoying one of them warmed with coffee has become something of a Saturday ritual for me. I also enjoy their pecan rolls and the pretzel rolls and pretzel breads are delicious. read more

My husband and I used Hahn's Bakery's donuts for our wedding as an alternative to a cake. They made 150 donuts in a variety of flavors and they were, of course, incredible. They even delivered them to the venue for us, right on time. Huge hit at the wedding. My husband ordered two dozen cupcakes from Hahn's Bakery for a baby shower I was hosting. An hour and a half before the start of the shower he went to pick up the order at the designated time, AND THEY FORGOT TO MAKE THE CUPCAKES. We had the pleasure of stopping into Hahn's Bakery last night at the Christmas Walk in Geneva. Our family really enjoyed the huge Santa cupcake, brownie and specialty desserts. We purchased (3) items for under $10, which we thought was a great deal in comparison to a store across the way. Our friend purchased her (1) cupcake that was half the size for more money. We will definitely be back for multiple visits in the near future. Especially, since I ate my husband's brownie...oops! It was just too irresistible and delicious!
