Came on a weekday lunch specifically to check out their MEAT OCLOCK lunch special! $19.99 for unlimited proteins (brisket, lamb, marinated pork, shrimp, sea bass) . What a great deal! You do have to add on your soup broth which ranges from $6-$10 and there's a required fee for the sauce/appetizer/dessert bar $4 More or less it's $25/pp for AYCE SO IMPRESSED how clean and fresh everything is and what's most impressive is their customer service! Wow service here is top notch and surprisingly very kid friendly Highly recommend

We came here for lunch with the family and had a wonderful time! Since I'm a vegetarian, I ordered the tomato broth, and it was delicious. My husband and son tried three of the other broths and really enjoyed them. We also ordered a variety of vegetables, rice and two different types of meat. Our server was incredibly friendly and made several dipping sauces for us. We were given aprons, a hair tie, snacks, wipes for our glasses, hand wipes, mints and all kinds of other thoughtful extras. Oh, and the rolls served at the end of our lunch were some of the most amazing I've ever eaten! We're all excited to go back!

10/10! Great experience. I love the ambiance, atmosphere, and service. It's a great addition having the disposable apron and hair tie they bring you when seated at the table. The broth for the hot pot is rich and flavorful with the tomato being our favorite. The meat is good quality and tender. The vegetables are fresh as well. The sauce bar and deserts are great. The ice cream machine is a great additional touch to finish the meal!

Haidilao Irvine never disappoints. Hands down, one of the best hot pot experiences every single time. The Tom Yum broth is incredible--tangy, spicy, and packed with flavor. The Golden Chicken broth is rich, comforting, and so good you'll want to drink it by itself. But my absolute favorite is the shrimp paste with salted duck egg yolk. Whoever came up with that combination deserves an award. It's rich, savory, slightly creamy, and completely addictive. 100/10! Come hungry because it's nearly impossible to stop eating here.

Best friendly service the night we went to HDL. The guy was surprised at how busy that night was Food was good and delicious like all other Hai Di Laos. It's a staple and they always have the most friendly service and staff. Good job to that It was a busy night so many students and people and families. Lively atmosphere and had a good time. I forgot his name but shout out to our servers

Haidailao, located in a shopping plaza that gets really busy and parking may be hard (recommend using the parking structure if you can) is definitely a place that can satisfy your hot pot craving, especially for the quality of food you are getting. From the moment you arrive, you know that they want to take care of the customer and make sure they have an amazing experience from the snacks provided while you are waiting for your seat to the conversation th host/ess provide to the smiles everyone has. Haidilao is a great little spot for hot pot. Like all hot pot places, what you order can really determine how well your meal is, and I am glad I had a great meal from start to finish. Everything was quick, efficient, and I felt well taken care of.

i absolutely LOVE Haidilao! They have the absolute best service and the best quality meat. I love going for meat oclock -- such an amazing deal for the quality of food you get! Even the little things are so thoughtful, like the hairties, snacks, and wet tissues they provide. Haidilao is just an experience from start to finish. If you haven't been yet, this is your sign to give it a try!

Haidilao Irvine is the third location of this popular Chinese Hot Pot chain that my wife and I have been to (sometimes for lunch, other times for dinner) and we've been impressed with the food and service each time: three for three, with intention to visit other locations in the future. We had an opportunity to again visit the Haidilao in Bellevue when visiting our daughter a couple weeks ago, and tried it for lunch for the first time. I was super impressed with the taste and value, so when the opportunity came to see O.C. family friends for lunch on a Friday, I suggested this location in Irvine. It opens at 11 am weekdays, so made a reservation on-line for that time, remarking that we were celebrating a birthday. It is located in the L-Shaped Diamond Jamboree Shopping Center, a two-story strip mall with a design so prevalent in Southern California (especially in the areas dominated by Asian businesses). There is a lot of free surface parking, but it fills up quickly, thus creating a common site/sight: an expensive auto just holding up through traffic by waiting minutes for a parking spot to open up, thinking it is 'OK' because they have their turn signal on. Waits are common at the popular Haidilao, and this location's waiting area is outside, with water and Chinese-branded snacks available while marking time. It was available when we came around around 10:45, and at exactly 11 am, the host popped his head out and invited us in. A booth for four had been set-up for us, with signs indicating that it was a birthday. It was tight for the five of us, but they had chosen the booth near the wall, so were able to use a nearby cart to put our raw meat and vegetables before cooking it, giving us enough dining space. There was already a small plate full of various cold side dishes, including a serviceable kimchi, all of which can be refilled from the buffet. Daniel, our server, greeted us immediately and was present and helpful throughout our entire meal. Lunch specials are different at each Haidilao, and this location did not have the one I was hoping for. Instead, an option for a lunch combo for $15.99 (choice of meat plate, a veggie/tofu plate, rice/noodle, and a drink) was the non-AYCE option. One still has to add up to four soup bases (about $5.99 to $7.99 each for the 1/4 version) and the seasoning/fruit buffet ($3.99). They didn't force us to get 5 combos, instead we were able to share four. The ordering is done through table-side tablets, with Daniel helping us through it. The table had an electric burner for up to 4 soup bases. The pork stomach and chicken was one (which I really like), with the other chosen choices being Mushroom, Sukiyaki, and Pork Bone. Thought the Sukiyaki was too sweet, mushroom bland, but the Pork Bone is the safe choice. Like before, my favorite things on the veggie/tofu plate is the tofu sheets and fish cakes. Everything was fresh and firm (not wilted). For our table, the obvious choice for meat was the angus beef short plate, but other choices are pork belly, lamb, and chicken. Hot pot dining is not quick (even for lunch), and we were there for over an hour, with frequent trips to the buffet to replenish each person's dipping sauces. Towards the end of the meal, Daniel talked to me privately, asking how my wife would like her birthday cake to be presented. I chose the 'loud' version, and it definitely was that, with everyone in the restaurant knowing that it was my wife's birthday. The complementary cake was like a castella cake, except it had many, many layers (10 in all). As expected, it was super moist and very creamy delicious. As a birthday gift, my wife got a matching set of Haidilao chopsticks, perfect for hot pot at home (my daughter gets the take home Haidilao hot pot kit, and has told me it is quite good). Another thing to note are that the bathrooms have one-time use mouthwash, toothbrushes, and combs. They want you to be able to return to work after having garlic/onion hot chili hot pot. When the bill came, it was exactly right, including only charging for 4 seasoning buffets. Trying to use a loyalty number requires access to the identifying phone number (since a security code gets texted), so I ended up creating my own loyalty membership (needed to get the combo price). It looks like the accumulated points can be exchanged for product. As we went our separate ways, I looked for the ice cream cups that are usually offered...learned that they no longer are at this location.

    Free kids meals!

Hands down, for the food, service, and ambiance! My kids absolutely loved it here. We missed the Meat O'Clock discount by arriving after 5 PM, but thankfully we were able to use a gift card we won from one of their giveaways. The service was exceptional--so good that it really stood out. The staff constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, and my kids had so much fun saying the secret phrases to earn free toys and snacks! There are way too many secret phrases to list here, so definitely Google them before you go! I had no idea before visiting that they also offer FREE kids' meals, which include fries, a Yakult, fresh fruit, and an adorable red bean piggy bun. Everything was fantastic--the food, dipping sauces, complimentary snacks, dancing noodle performance, mask-changing show, and even the ice cream. Dinner here is hard to top, and my family and I will definitely be back!

Came for Meat O'Clock and it was such a fun way to do hot pot at Haidilao. $19.99 includes AYCE angus beef, spicy marinated beef, basa fish, and shrimp, but you must pay $3.99 for sauce bar (do not miss out!), and then pay for broths. Comes out to about $40 pp plus tax and tip for a group of 4 (cheaper if you do fewer broths) which is pricey but worth it as their meat quality, sauce bar and service, plus free snacks are top notch. Definitely google all the fun recipes and hacks as it's part of the fun. Sesame noodles FTW! Came for weekday lunch so it wasn't very crowded, make reservations if you come during a busier time. Parking at second floor of structure will guide you to bridge directly to the restaurant. Pro-tip: their hair ties for those with long hair are a must as they're great quality!

I've been to many Hotpot restaurants, and this one seemed to be on the high-end side in terms of pricing and meat presentation but I'm not quite sure it was a 5-star worthy as most people have rated it. Their operations are a bit overwhelming, when you first arrive. They ask you if you want to join their membership which is quite off-putting, especially as someone visiting Irvine for the weekend. They then walk you through how to order on their iPad and then point at the corner station where you can build your sauce along with a dessert area next to it, where you have to pay extra to access. What I actually enjoyed: - Tom Yum Broth was flavorful and not too spicy (as I like it) - Top Blade & Beef Belly Meats were good - The Pork & Rice Bowl What I wasn't too satisfied with: - Sichuan Crispy Pork tasted like we were just eating fried batter, I probably had two good pieces with actual meat - The shrimp ball with duck egg in the center, not a fan personally The service was great, our two waiters were attentive and checked in frequently. Lastly, the ambiance, its beautiful, decorated in red & gold. But it can get a little noisy, which is fine. But like I said, it was a bit of a sensory overload.. especially since our hotpot stove was set up at an extremely high temp - it felt like I was rushing to eat my food because of how fast my food was cooking.

If you're craving quality hot pot but don't want all you can eat, this is your spot to go. We came in on a Saturday evening for the Zootopia collaboration and it was about a 45 minute wait. Parking at Diamond Jamboree is always a pain but if you get here before the dinner rush, it isn't too bad. Our party had never tried any of the "hacks" before and our server really hyped us up for it. I really wanted the fairy wand but they unfortunately did not have it that evening, so she got me another toy and got our table a round of fried mantou without us having to share the code. I generally like their soup bases. Very flavorful and honestly, you don't need the sauce bar, but if you cannot resist the sauce bar, just know that it's about $2 per person. There's also some desserts and fruits there as well. We loved the face mask changing show and the dancing noodle show. It's what makes them stand out from all the other hot pot spots. Would come back next time when I'm not craving all you can eat hot pot.

Highly recommended!!!! To clarify the situation: When we entered the restaurant, it was clearly not a busy hour. There were plenty of empty tables available. If your policy is that certain four-person tables are reserved exclusively for customers who make reservations in advance, then that policy should be clearly stated to customers rather than being applied selectively. When we arrived, there was a customer dining alone who was seated at a table for three. Later, another customer who appeared to be familiar with the short female server also came in alone and was given a larger three-person table. So just to clarify: were all of these tables reserved in advance as well? Or does the "reservation" rule only apply when it comes to certain customers? No one wants to sit at a tiny table in the middle of the aisle when there isn't even enough space to comfortably fit four dishes. We are not complaining simply because we were given a smaller table. The issue is the obvious inconsistency in how the seating was handled. If there is a legitimate seating policy, it should be applied consistently to everyone--not selectively depending on who the customer is.

The ordering process is simple. Just find an empty table and sit down, browse the menu, and when you're ready, walk up to the front counter to place your order and pay. After that, the staff will bring the food to your table. If you need extra plates, water, or other basic items, it's mostly self-service. Just grab what you need yourself. The setup is straightforward and efficient, which is probably one reason so many students like coming here. It's a great place for a quick meal with friends or family near the UCI area.

There are a couple of areas where you can get free water in cups. They often have daily specials if you're interested, especially the cold foods. Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered our food at the counter and the food came out relatively fast. We ate so many good foods: XLB, eggplant with garlic, mapo tofu, and zha jiang noodles. I don't know which one was my favorite because they were all very good and the portions were AMAAAZING. We had so much food leftover to eat the next day for me and my friend.

The restaurant is large and service is quick so we waited just 5 mins for a table on a Saturday night. It has traditional look inside although the booth seating could use some updating as it seemed to have tape or something. My partner always wanted to try the classic dongpo braised pork belly. They do an individual portion here and I didn't realize it also comes with rice and picked mustard greens. It's the perfect size to try this dish and it's very hearty. It's a bit sweeter tasting here but tender. It comes with a spoon because you should be able to just cut into it with that. I also tried a seasonal item of tofu with crab roe. It was fresher tasting than I had expected. It was lightly seasoned and not too fishy. It had the grittiness of the crab roe and head along with some shrimp I believe. I think I would've liked a bit more flavor. With my leftovers, I added chili crisp to it the next day and it was great. Beef chow fun was amazing. It had the perfect flavor, rice noodles were tender and not all clumped up with some noodles seasoned and other not. It tasted like fresh noodles and had that wonderful wok hei flavor. Definitely a must order. This place is known for the duck but my partner does not enjoy it unfortunately. I will have to try it one day!

A solid meal, well fried and fat rendered, not much batter in this style. Seasoning is there, and they have an excellent chili oil-sauce thing on each table to add for deep flavor and spice. If I had to change something... I'd add bok choy as a side rather than chopped into the rice? Still solid choice. Service is as usual at an Asian restaurant--order, and they'll respect your meal time and leave you alone unless you ask for attention.

I am not Chinese so take that into consideration. 122 beef soup clear broth - This was a 5/5 - so good we got one too go. The price is good but it is a small portion with just a little meat. It's the broth that tastes so good. 111 noodles with ground pork, sprouts and cucumber 5/5 - I really liked this dish. It's like a Chinese chili on wide noodles. Addictive. Good value too. 139 beef wrap - 3/5 - This is the chinese pancake surrounding overcooked beef that you can get anywhere. Thankfully they didn't use too much cilantro like other places. It was dry. I would not order it again. Needs a sauce too. The vinegar from the table wasn't helping. 137 1000layer pancake - 3/5 This was made fresh and it's puffy! ---probably exactly what it's supposed to be. It, too, needs a special sauce. There just is no flavor by itself. Plus, I only counted 900 layers. Just kidding. I would skip next time. The service here is great. Food comes out fast.

First Impressions (5/5) Casual spot that is not super fancy or overly crowded feeling. We were 9th in line and got a table within about 10 to 15 minutes, so they move pretty quickly. What We Got (5/5) * Regular xiao long bao: Really good and flavorful. * Crab xiao long bao: Strong crab flavor and falls apart in your mouth. * Spicy xiao long bao: Good flavor but not very spicy. * Mapo tofu: Not much meat, but the mala flavor is really good, with a nice salty and spicy balance. Came with a good amount of rice. Taste and Quality (5/5) Everything was very tasty. The crab xiao long bao was probably the standout, with a strong crab flavor and soft texture. Service (5/5) Very nice and speedy. The line moved quickly and we were seated pretty fast. Space and Atmosphere (5/5) Very casual with a clean feel and casual music. Good for a quick meal with friends. Was It Worth It (5/5) Definitely worth it. Good food, decent portions, and the quick service makes it an easy choice. Final Thoughts Great spot if you want xiao long bao without waiting forever. I would definitely come back.

The wait can get a little long but the outdoor waiting area is in shade and there are a couple of benches. We shared the cucumber salad, chili sauce wontons, Seven Grams XLB, and a scallion pancake all for $33. Insanely cheap, tasty too. The scallion pancake was a little thinner than I'd like, not a ton of scallion flavor. But we especially liked the XLB - juicy and full of meat! The cucumber salad was light and refreshing and the chili sauce wontons were tender and tangy. Great lunch spot - would love to try something from the drink menu the next time I'm back! :)

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.
