Our favorite place for Peking Duck in Orange County. They are very consistent with their duck quality and it comes with the thin pancake wrappers individually separated so it's easy to peel apart when you are wrapping your duck. We added a Duck soup this recent visit, and it's a small bowl meant for 2-3 people but can be shared by more if you just want a taste. I've been here many times with friends for birthday celebrations and everyone goes home full and happy. We always order the full Duck and the other dishes will vary based on who I'm eating with. My favorite is the Serrano Pepper beef and Dongpo pork. My friends like the eggplant (which is delicious but very oily), the mapo tofu with beef, and the sweet & sour fish (not my favorite because it's all fried and can't really taste the fish...but it is beautifully presented). They are very accommodating when you bring your own birthday cake, and will store it for you, bring you plates, forks, knife, and lighter for the candles. I came here specifically for the peking duck and it did not disappoint! I love how juicy and flavorful it was and it was not dry at all. I also really enjoyed the orange chicken which was the perfect crispiness and the Mongolian beef, which was so tender and had plenty of onions! We went here with a fairly large party and the inside was clean and had a modern design. The service was alright, we spent awhile trying to flag someone down to get our order. They also brought out our food in a weird order where the vegetables came at the end. We also were the only table without a lazy susan, so it made it uncomfortable to share dishes with everyone passing the dishes around. We ordered the whole duck, but compared to other restaurants, you are definitely not getting the entire duck. The flavor on the duck is average too, not super flavorful. The best dishes of what we got was the pork belly with preserved veggies which was cooked well and very tender. We also enjoyed the mapo tofu with beef. Amazing place for literally the best roast duck and flavorful szechuan dishes. Roast duck comes in half and full sizes. They serve it on a plate with candle underneath to keep it warm. Duck skin was crispy and oils melt in your mouth. This comes with cucumber, sugar, hoisin sauce, spring onion. You get this paper-thin wrap to wrap duck and veggie filling in to eat. We also tried stirred fry pea sprouts which was not overly salty, soft but has some crunch. Ate this with brown rice - which was average and nothing special. Highly recommend the bang bang chicken. For 3 people, we chose the $105 lunch special which included their Meizhou roast duck, steamed garlic shrimp with vermicelli noodles and cordyceps, and wok fried green beans. Also added an additional dish, their beef filet with black pepper ($30) as well. Technique and wok hei is there, yet flavor and seasoning was lacking for my taste and what I'd expect for this type of regional/specialty cuisine. Can be a bit pricey for what you get food-wise. I made a reservation at 4 pm for my son's 30th Birthday celebration and had all my food preordered 2 days in advance. I ordered 10 items for each table . They prepared 2 tables for us. There were 19 of us and we were all there at 4 pm expecting the food to be ready and served within 15 minutes but it did not happen. They served the food 10 minutes apart and the wonton soup that supposed to be the first thing they will serve was the 6th item they served and they were already warm and not hot. The service was really bad and they did not even give us water on the table and had to ask for them. The food was not as tasty as I expected them to be for the price and very little portion. Came here expecting a high-end Chinese dining experience based on the pricing -- and it definitely charges like one. Overall, the meal was okay, but a bit hit or miss. A lot of the dishes tasted like they relied pretty heavily on MSG to boost flavor. Everything was bold, but also on the saltier, heavier side, which made it hard to enjoy too many dishes at once. They're known for their Peking duck, but at around $100 for a whole duck, it feels pretty steep. It's good, but not mind-blowing enough to justify the price for me. We tried a few other dishes too. The green beans were stir-fried very dark and somehow still tough. The pork belly with bamboo was way too salty. The noodles were actually tasty with a nice texture -- but again, very salty. The restaurant seems to lean into spicy dishes, which helps mask some of that heavy seasoning. Service was fine, nothing bad -- but for a place that presents itself as upscale, I expected more frequent plate changes and table attention. Dessert was fried mochi. It was good and satisfying, just nothing particularly special. Overall, if you enjoy strong, salty, punchy flavors, you might like this place more than we did.
