Bulgogi burger

Really unique place. Crab Rangoon grilled cheese was one of the best things I have had lately. We shared that and a Beef Bulgogi burger which was also really good. We ordered at the window outside and dined inside. Very nice people. We had a great experience.

One of the best burgers I've had in a hot minute! I was in Asheville for a friend's bachelorette party, and despite this being a popular pre-wedding destination, it can be tricky to find a restaurant with space for a large group! Hail Mary fits the bill, with quick counter service and plenty of room to spread out on the patio. Honestly everything on the menu sounded good, but a good classic-style burger was calling my name. Hail Mary's is a double patty with American cheese, caramelized onions, "kween" sauce, and dill pickles. This is exactly what I was craving, and fulfilled that "diner-style" burger nostalgia with elevated ingredients. I also ordered their PBJ Brussels, which sounded intriguing and were indeed delicious. The flavors kind of sound like they wouldn't work together, but they totally do. Prices aren't bad for the quality of the food, but when adding in drinks, it can get a little expensive. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!

This was a fantastic spot for a group of eight. I was craving a good burger and Hail Mary was the perfect stop. We found some free street parking in front. We were in town for my Bachelorette and wanted a casual spot for a big group. I loved how easy it was to order up front and take your icon order number with you to an open table. They have a great menu here filled with creative burgers and fried chicken sandwiches. My girls and I loved all that we ordered. I went with the classic burger that was super delicious. I had two friends get the fried chicken sandwich. They loved how generous the portion was (the chicken was hanging outside of the bread) and finished every last bite. I paid extra for the side of fries and enjoyed them. Another friend loved the bahn mi burger. It's a great spot for quick and delicious food. The people who work here are super kind. There is a single gender neutral bathroom stall. We sat in their outdoor covered patio. I highly recommend this spot for big groups and great food.

We tried Hail Mary in West Asheville yesterday and honestly... really impressed. First off, the setup is great--tons of indoor and outdoor seating, and they even have a bathroom outside so you don't have to go in if you're sitting out there (small thing, but I appreciate it). Parking was also easier than expected for that area. Staff was friendly and everything felt pretty easy. The menu is fun and a little different, which we liked. We both got the Hot Girl Chicken sandwich and WOW. I don't know what they're doing to that batter, but it's some of the crispiest chicken I've ever had. Like... still crispy even after sitting for a while. Super well seasoned, not greasy, and a really solid portion. We also got a mule (you can pick your alcohol--we went tequila) and it was super refreshing. The ginger really cut through the heaviness of the food in a good way. But the yucca fries were my favorite part. So good. The texture was perfect and there was plenty of topping/sauce on the plate to dip every bite--nothing sad or dry at the bottom like you sometimes get with loaded fries. I couldn't finish everything, but I saved the fries and ate one like an hour and a half later and it was STILL crispy. That alone sold me. Overall--really good food, big portions, and a fun spot. Would definitely go back.

Food was BOMB! Daily specials, large selection of beer/cocktails/thc seltzers. Service was great! What more can you ask for in West Asheville

That fried chicken sandwich was amazing. Wow. They used a chicken thigh instead of the usual chicken breast. Was fried to perfection. Service was friendly and we ate outside as they do have alot of seating area for that. Its around alot of different bars and restaurants, but it isnt too hard to miss. Ill be back to try more options very soon next time im in Asheville.

Jerk chicken po boy (front), Thai-style blistered green beans (center), banh mi burger (back)

They managed to keep the good things about the former Tastee Diner that make it seem like a fun, cozy little spot while feeling less like a complete dive than Tastee Diner did. I mean that as a compliment. It's cute on the outside and inside now, paying homage on the inside to pop grrl power. This is one of those Asheville places where you order your food at the front counter and get a number to put on the table, get your own table settings ("goldware" instead of the usual silverware, and real cloth napkins!), then they bring your food out to you and bus the tables. So semi-service. But you're really coming here for the food, which fortunately is very good. We ordered two sandwiches, one with an add on of fries, but instead of a second order of fries, we ordered kween beans. These are pan blistered green beans in a pad thai (peanut) mayo/miso sort of sauce, with pickled veggies and spices. This was a really unique combination of flavors. The green beans themselves were tasty, the sauce was very nice and the pickled veggies gave it an element of a slaw-like flavor, too. So a lot of different tastes going on, but it all seemed to work. One sandwich was the banh mi burger. The meat was a combo of hamburger and Vietnamese pork, which made it juicy and tasty. Again, there was a somewhat weird combo of smoked gouda cheese, pad thai mayo, poblanos & pickled cabbage, with various spices. But once again, it all worked well together. The other sandwich was the jerk chicken po boy. These chicken thighs were probably the best thighs I've ever had -- so tender and flavorful. The sauce started off like a regular bbq sauce, making this sort of a like a typical pulled chicken sandwich, but then the jerk seasoning kicked in, giving it a nice Caribbean style flavor profile with a good amount of heat. White cheddar, chipotle aioli and pickled onions and daikon cabbage rounded out the sandwich, giving it a rich umami taste. An absolutely great sandwich that I highly recommend! The fries were good, basically diner-style fries (our server spilled some of them as she neared our table and said she'd bring more, but didn't. Even so we had enough to eat). We enjoyed Edmund's oat porter, which they have on draft, as a great complement to the food, especially the jerk chicken. The little bit of chocolate taste and richness of the beer paired well with the spiciness of the jerk chicken, and surprisingly also with the Asian style green beans. I'd say the food might be just a little bit pricey, but for the innovative layering of tastes, it was elevated enough to merit being at the higher end of the range for this sort of a meal. We'll be back!

This is a MUST stop for us every time we're in town. Since it was Tastee diner ! And I'm so happy the new owner was able to keep things going, meshed some fresh vibes with the old vibes which is super fun and inviting. The food is comfort food to the max and blows our mind every time. Service is always great and everyone is super welcoming. Until next time !

We went all out with appetizers and main courses, and everything was excellent. For starters, my husband ordered the buffalo chicken bites and I got the fried pickles. Both were perfectly prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The burgers were the absolute highlight. I ordered the "Bacon Crunch" style Juicy Lucy, which came stuffed with cheese and topped with bacon jam, pickles, crisp bacon slices, and potato chips for a perfect crunch. My husband went for the "Lucy Loco" burger, which came loaded with jalapeños. Both burgers had incredible flavor, were an ample size, and hit the spot perfectly. The sides were just as impressive. I had the sweet potato fries, and my husband ordered the fried green beans--which were uniquely delicious and really well done. To top it all off, our server, Carla, was very nice and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Juicy Lucy's is a must-visit, and I will definitely be stopping by again on my next trip to Asheville!

We started with the Dumplings appetizer along with some garlic herb Edamame and it was very good, we asked for eight shrimp and they were glad to adjust for us. Crispy and a nice crunch. It was a nice beginning. The soybeans were fresh and hot with a nice flavor also a good start. Next some Toro and Hamachi Sashimi, both were fresh and flavorful. Along with a California roll, it was true to type, nicely rolled and good flavor. Next I had the Sweet Heart Roll, an impressive presentation and work of art. Simply delicious and so flavorful. This was an excelleny choice. Then the Madness Fries, a pile of seasoned fries with a mound of shredded carb on top. This is simply insane, it was such a delicious bowl and the combination of salty fries with sweet crab. A winner. My partner had the Vegan, a beyond burger patty on a Millet Chai bun the way she wanted it and said it was very good too. We tried several different items and each was very good to better. Boy Howdy Burgers just transitioned from being an occasional pop-up at DSSOLVR to a new location…read moreadjoining DayTrip bar/cocktail lounge, across from Carrier Park. If I was rating this place on the taste of the burgers alone, it would hands down be 5 stars. These are simply the best fast food burgers that you've NEVER HAD. In other words, fast food burgers reimagined with all the taste you crave, but without the crap ingredients and weird bloaty aftereffects. These are fast food burgers the way they should be. That said, the prices reflect that. The burgers are good sized with two patties, but they run $12 for a beef smash burger or $14 if you opt for the Impossible Burger (which you can get with regular "freedom cheese" and sauce or with vegan cheese and sauce). They offer a "combo" for $3 more, but it's a bag of chips and sour patch gummy candy for dessert. Based on that, my recommendation for now is to just go with the burger and enjoy it on its own. If the owners see this review, here's my suggestion: invest in a really good fryer and do the same thing you've done with fast food burgers, but for french fries, too. I'm sure frying units are a pain with the cooking oil, extreme heat and all, but it would be so great to have the FULL fast food experience reimagined. Service was friendly. Multiple indoor and outside seating options, and you can take the burgers over to any of the areas of DayTrip to enjoy your burger with a beer or cocktail. DayTrip's beer menu even includes a [canned] beer called Boy Howdy that DSSOLVR produces to go along with the Boy Howdy burgers. That's a better combo! This place is so much better than most burger places that even with the relatively pricey burgers, I'll go back. I'd go back more often if they served really great french fries along with the burgers!
