This place is a total vibe. The service was awesome and everyone working there was cool, friendly and made you feel welcome. Nothing forced or overly fancy, just good people and good food. We got the Bella Fungo pizza with red sauce like we always do. Plenty of mushrooms, great flavor and that crust was doing exactly what it needed to do. We also got the House Salad and just ordered the regular size. Glad we didn't go bigger because the regular was huge and easily enough for both of us to split. Definitely not one of those restaurants where a "salad" is three leaves and a tomato for $18. We killed the salad, so sorry no pics this time. Good pizza, great service and a really cool atmosphere. So, here's the thing about this place. I don't have any complaints about the food at all. The pizza was great, I really liked the flavor and the cook. The corn ribs were also excellent, as were the cookies at the end of the meal. I don't have any complaints about the food at all. It's good pizza. The reason this place can't possibly earn more than two stars from me is because of the absolute insanity of charging a 12% "cost of living" fee in addition to asking for tips. 3%, fine. 5%, okay. But TWELVE PERCENT? That is highway robbery, and it makes an already not cheap pizza push right up into expensive. It makes the DineLA price not worth it whatsoever. It's ridiculous to think that I should be responsible for paying the employees cost of living wages, and it makes me wonder what kind of operation they are actually running here. Based on that, I will not recommend this place, nor will I return. In addition to that, the restaurant itself is not terribly nice inside. It was boiling hot, even the water served to the table was hotter than room temperature. It's horribly uncomfortable inside. I walked in fully convinced I'd just grab a slice because I "wasn't that hungry." Fast forward a bit, and my friends and I had ordered two whole pizzas and somehow each demolished four slices. 4+ Pizza spot located in Atwater Village. A few friends and I went here to get some take out to watch a game back at a buddy's house, so I can't speak to the vibe inside (although I've been here for brunch at a restaurant that occupied this spot in the past). Ordering was really easy. You can order online and they give you an estimated time when your order is ready. We parked close by and one of us ran in to pick up all the food. It was a really easy process. As for the pizza and food we ordered the Pep Pep, Margherita Supreme, some Charred Corn Ribs, and the Hail Mary Caesar. I thought everything was tasty. They mix up tender salad greens with some leaves of fresh herbs, mint, cilantro, and dill caught my delighted attention. Hail Mary Pizza is a local pizza joint located in Atwater village, offering a wide variety of creative sourdough pizzas, "LA Style", similar to New Haven, but with slightly less crunch, and a trendy, laid back vibe. I've been wanting to check out Hail Mary for some time, and on a lark decided to pick up a pie on the way home. I got the One, Two Punch Pizza ($26), a pepperoni, fennel sausage, and hot honey masterpiece. The crunch and crust were excellent, there was minimal flop, the meat was succulent, the cheese tangy, and the honey a little spicy to boot. The vibes for Hail Mary are excellent. The music reverbs, the artwork is bold and unapologetic, the menu is a giant chalkboard, and the theming hilariously heretical. Pray for us sinners. The value is fair, with each pizza feeding one very hungry or two peckish individuals, or about $15-25 / person. I cannot comment on the service as I did takeout, but the staff all appeared friendly and hard working. Blessed is the fruit of thy oven, Mary. Leaving it sweet and pasty. The crust itself has no crispness to it, just soft and fluffy, which might be ones preference. But I find myself placing it on a pizza stone at home and baking it another 10-15 mins to get the crunch I want. The prices aren't too bad. I really want to give this place a better review because the staff were so nice here, but their pizza needs major work. The sauce has too much tomato paste in it, making it too sweet and thick. The pizza was scantily clad with a few tiny pieces of mediocre quality mozzarella -- for a dish that basically has 3 key ingredients, don't skimp on quality or quantity with one of the majors. And the crust was okay, but kind of dry and flavorless, something akin to what a novice cook would make at home. This was definitely not a classic margherita pizza you'd expect to pay for. Corn ribs were surprisingly flavorful and delicious, but a bit too much sauce on top. Highly recommend. Came here for dine LA and will definitely be back. My husband and I tried the half house salad, it was amazing, love the light and refreshing dressing they make in house. Then we had the one, two punch, but they were able to change the sauce to their regular marina. It was amazing. The pepperoni they use really is incredible and the hot honey was delicious. We ended with the two salted chocolate chunk cookies which were very chocolate forward. Their lemonade was also super tasty. We just visited for the first time, trying the DineLA deal and were very happy with the meal. Get over there and check it out. The deal is $35 for a meal for two people and includes choice of two salads, choice of 4 pies, and choice of two desserts. The crust on this pizza was fantastic. Nice brown speckles on the bottom, chewy edges. I don't alway eat the crust but these were beautifully spongy and chewy. The sauce is rich and umami, intense even and my friend thought it was ideal. My only quibble was some of the pep was cut thick and hard to chew. Overall, truly wonderful artisan pizza. Looks like they carry one size. We took the Caesar salad which was massive with delicious little croutons. I really enjoyed it. The dressing was epic but scant. One more spoonful please, or a lemon half to moisten the leaves. The house salad sounded special too. We had to take our Basque almond cake home, other choice was cookies. The staff was warm and kind. I appreciated the heavy cutlery, we needed knife and fork for the big romaine leaves. The atmosphere is a bit funky and cramped but the place is clean. Four sidewalk tables, where we sat, had pretty funky tables and chairs but the open air and evening breeze were welcome. Wow what a pizza haven especially for foodies who want to try different types of pizzas!!! We pulled up on Cinco de Mayo and got to try their exclusive Mole Pizza which was sooooo good!! Their Hail Mary Caesar was delicious. The sliced Parmesan and croutons were so flavorful. We also tried their essential - Pep Pep Pizza - a jalapeño pepperoni pizza with honey drizzled on top, as well as The Belly Goat which was refreshing with goat cheese and veggies. We've ordered out and yesterday made a pick up order so it was the first time I saw the interior. My 9yo was enthralled by the vintage Pacman table arcade and the mini claw machine. Staff was warm and cooks were friendly and smiled (which is rare so you know they must be treated well). We usually do the Margarita pizza, a pepperoni, the chicken wings, and a slice of cheesecake to share. The basque cheesecake is bananas, I dream about that cheesecake. The pizza is solid, excellent crust, superior ingredients, and great prices. Local spots are charging $41 for what they charge less than $30 for. That's a massive difference and the five stars account for the excellent quality you get for that price point. I'm going to try to make it a habit to dine-in so we can enjoy the local spot feeling and kiddo can play pacman. I'm picky and I felt like this spot hits all the right notes. read more

Previously, I also tried their seasonal tomato salad and wasn't impressed. It was overly oily, and the tomatoes were saggy and didn't taste fresh.
