Once I figured out the hours, it's been my primary pizza place ever since. Since it's a truck, Bella Luna will sometimes be hired for private parties, etc., so, be aware that it's not a brick and mortar that can be expected to be there every day. It's been my goal to find good pizza in LA ever since I moved here from the east coast in 1983. You name it, I've tried it. I'm not a NYC snob, but it can't be denied that it's a challenge to find good, standard (not gourmet or fancy like Mozza, etc.) pizza out here that you don't have to drive miles to. It's a great pizza option for the Los Feliz area. I prefer wood-fired and traditional toppings and Bella Luna hits the mark with a great crust and consistent, perfectly baked pizza. We are always looking for the best pizza near us. We discovered Bella Luna on Yelp, and we decided to try it. We programmed the address in the phone, and when the directions told us to pull into the parking lot, we did. The only problem was, there was only a liquor store there. We walked up and down the street looking for the restaurant. There was none. Just as we were about to drive away, I noticed a sign across the street that said Bella Luna on the side of a trailer. We couldn't believe they were making pizza in a trailer, but we had to find out. So we got back in our car and parked in the Albertson's parking lot, which is nearest the trailer, which was parked in the street. We looked at the menu, and ordered 2 twelve-inch pizzas. While waiting for them to cook, I noticed a sign that said "cash only." As it happened, I didn't bring any, and neither did my partner. So I went into Albertson's and got some cash just in time to pay for the pizzas. There was no place to eat them on the street, so we took them home in our hot-cold bag. Hands down some of the best pizza I've had, and it's from a food truck! Keep in mind he does have a wood fire oven in his trailer. The pizza is perfect. Crust is flavorful and chewy and an undercarriage to die for. I couldn't believe that insanely good pizza could from a food truck... well, it's a food trailer. Assumption is a 60 square foot kitchen on wheels shouldn't be able to hand you a michelin star class pizza, but apparently the owner of this truck doesn't bother with the rating guide, he just makes pizza. In my opinion As good of a pizza as you can get. I was in that side of town and looked up for a place that's open and ended up here. I was a bit shocked to see there is an actual wood burning oven inside the trailer. I have no idea how the fire department worked that out, but perhaps they've tried the pizza and gave in. I looked at the menu and got the first two on the list. Margarita and pepperoni pizza. After 10 minutes, I got my box. Opened it, took one bite and I had to pick up my jaw from the floor. I could not believe the quality of the pizza. The crust is thin, very well cooked, and very tasty. Not sure what kind of flour he's using, I have a feeling it would be the 00 from Italy, or some other magical flour he has found. The edges are light and cooked well. The cheese is indeed high quality. The pepperoni is the small packed with flavor moist. And on the margarit the basil had full taste of basil, as it was some home grown version. This is the kind of pizza I would expect in a 3 star restaurant, and I would pay $60 for it, when served on a nice plate. Of course I enjoyed it as much out of the box. We ordered: Estrella Star Shaped with fontal, mozzarella, bufala, ricotta, sasauge, spinach, and cherry tomatoes. Each corner of the star shaped is stuffed with ricotta cheese, so delicious! Half Hawaiian and Half Shrimp Pesto - We couldn't decide on the 2nd one and it was no problem getting it half and half. These wood oven pizza is thin and light, and the dough is soft and chewy. They have couple small tables by the truck to enjoy your pizza, but it was a windy night so we just ate in the car with Netflix on the screen. Yo this lil spot in Silverlake is the bomb! (Damn, am I aging myself?). Anyways- nah it's legit and tasty. I prefer deep dish style pizzas overall, but without question this is one of the best thin pizzas I've had ever. I was astounded and impressed by their attention to detail. After each pizza came out the oven, there was a dude there who would check the pie and literally the underside of every pizza - to make sure it was indeed up to standard. Too fkn good. Prosciutto parma pizza is so good. You guys really need to come check this spot out. Sadly, I took my pizza home so I wasn't able to enjoy at the peak of freshness, but it is still really delicious. The most important part of a pizza is the crust, and this crust is crispy and packs a lot of flavor from the wood fire pizza oven. I love the fact they incorporated an actual pizza oven which really boosts the quality of a pizza. Service was really great, guys were very friendly and even brought my pizza out to me. The truck is located right outside of the Albertsons parking lot. Cash is preferred, but they also accept payment via Venmo and Zelle. Don't be turned off by the fact it's a food truck. Some of the best pizza I've ever had and ions better than the other options in the area like Palermo or Cheech's. Got the Picante - highly recommend. Service was great - the guy working the register was very kind. Also very reasonably priced for great pizza. Will definitely be coming back here. As I stepped out of our local Albertsons, I noticed a food truck setting up right outside, and it was Bella Luna. There was convenience in its location. It was right next to the huge parking lot that is used by Albertsons, Coffee Bean, and that sushi joint. The pizza is wood fire and very Neapolitan. The sauce was great, the crust was perfectly chewy with some crisp bits, and pepperoni also had some crisp edges (this is a good thing). One thing I want to commend them on is they already pack Parmesan and Pepper Flakes for you without asking! The only thing you should remember is this is cash only. read more

We got the margherita pizza and arugula salad. Both were delicious! The pizza crust was thin and crispy, and it was the perfect size to split between two people without getting overly full. We ate the pizza first and I thought, that was so good, we probably should've started with the salad. But the salad was also really delicious! It surprised me. Stopped by last week after watching a movie at the local theater. My friend got the margherita w eggplant and I got a pepperoni pizza. So they add fresh basil to the margherita with is ok but by the time we were about to eat it, it was already spoiled from the heat which was not even 2 minutes from the time we got it. The pizzas were over cooked, the cheese had split dissolved into the sauce and grease had surfaced to the top. Grease disgusting mess! I had high hopes it would be better than elios wood fire pizza cuz the chef had worked w elios at desano pizza in east hollywood years back. Not surprised it was mediocre pie, tough crust, no proper chew, like stale ciabatta. Flavorless crust, because like elios they both use the same dough recipe as desano. Also noticed the chefs making the pizzas next to the register box where I saw max handling money and making pizzas without washing his hands. Looks like a normal practice here. Don't recommend and definitely won't be coming back. Ambiance and decor tacky, looks like carnival circus attire decor. I know they're wearing chef uniforms but wearing that ridiculous laundry bag looking hat, the pijama pants, the oversize white chef shirt it's diabolical. Even my Italian friends agree that the quality is great. The owner Max is very nice and friendly and very welcoming. This was just a great experience. My wife and I went on a Friday night. The truck was easy to find as it's right off the side of the road next to Albertsons. We parked in the Albertsons parking lot and were surprised to see there was no line at all. We walked up, looked over the menu and saw a cash only sign which almost deterred us, but then we saw the Venmo sign. Perfect! We'll pay with Venmo. We ordered two pizzas and a salad. I'm assuming the owner took our order and he was delightful. He said it would be about 15 minutes which was fine. While we were waiting we noticed they took a few orders over the phone. Good to know for next time. The pizza was ready in what seemed like no time at all and we took it to our car. We sat in our car and had our dinner. Cute car dates aren't just for teenagers. We ordered the Estrella and Salsiccia Funghi pizzas and the Arugula salad. They were all amazing. The char and chew on the crust was perfect, the little cheese stuffed crust balls on the Estrella were like a fun little treat at the end of your slice. All of the ingredients were high quality and as good as, if not better than, any of the Neapolitan style pizzas I've had around LA. The salad was large and the dressing was great. We will 100% be coming back to try more of the menu. After we ate our fill, we went down the street a couple blocks and had a few scoops of ice cream from Jeni's for dessert.
