ARRABBIATA Got it with spaghetti. The spaghetti was thicker than expected. I did eat this right away. Pasta was cooked, but a bit firm. A little too al dente for my taste. Not sure if they did that because I ordered it to go. Would have loved it if it was cooked a tad bit longer. However, their arrabbiata sauce was spicy delicious! TORTELLINI TRADZIONALI Had a few bites of it when it was still hot. Too creamy. It's just straight up heavy cream that lacks flavor in the sauce. Lacking salt and pepper. Bland sauce. Should have gotten pesto as a sauce instead. But I did like the tortellini pasta. However, the pasta could have been softer in texture. There are 4 small foccacia bread sticks that come with your meal. They did not add any to my takeout meal, so I had to ask for it. Foccacia bread was good! Light crispiness and soft on the inside. Little bit of sea salt on top. I know there are popular pastas here and there's a way to order it as well. Too bad I did not pick the popular dishes. MORTADELLA SANDWICH Been craving a mortadella sandwich, so thought I'd order this. The mortadella was thinly sliced and had a light saltiness to it. The burrata was thinly packed and I wished there was more; more creaminess to the sandwich. The pistachio spread was thinly spread and sweet. Didn't like this pistachio spread. It didn't add anything to the sandwich that made a harmonious sandwich. The bread was a bit too dry, but the sandwich tasted better the next day. Overall I enjoyed it because the mortadella was good. No crispyness, but soggy. It tasted old and stale. Did not finish it and had to throw it away. STRAWBERRY LEMONADE Good strawberry and tangy lemon flavor. Icy and fresh! AMBIANCE + SEATS It's a small restaurant with very little seating. A small bar seating for 4 and two or three tables for 2-3. Tables for 2 outside as well. Quiet and I don't remember any music playing. Overall, it does feel a bit awkward eating there. So I understand why people have their food to go. Also, lack of space too. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. But I think it could be a bit better. One staff member was very nice and friendly and answered my questions, whereas another staff was cordial, but barely smiling and a bit cold, just doing her job. The place was empty when I got there. But I was there on a Tuesday and right at opening time. It seems there's a lot of to-go orders. Lots of people ordered via phone and picked up. It seems that they have a good customer base and it was nice to see people in the neighborhood coming in for pick-up orders, saying hello to staff and chatting. Not sure if I'd return. I appreciate freshly made pasta and a neighborhood pasta place. But I do not live in the neighborhood, so it feels like I went out of my way to try Pasta Sisters once again. For our mains we ordered the Pappardelle Alla Domenica and Beef Lasagna. The Pappardelle Alla Domenica is a must try, being advertised as Mamma's special that was featured in the Los Angeles Times. The sauce was light, yet garlicky and packed with flavor from the sausages. Also the Beef Lasagna was delicious with a nice ratio of all the layers.

Paying was easy once a server was flagged down, and we were able to split the bill, too. After paying, the server didn't bring the pizza that was packed away unless asked. (Maybe I should've checked for the sauce here, too, just in case...) The real damage, though, was either the pizza, the fig sauce, or the caramel syrup, because my throat was gone within the next few days. Out of sheer luck, my best friend decided to chose this spot for our girls' night dinner, and we have decided on consensus that we savored every bite of our meal. We started our meal with the absolutely delectable focaccia erbraica, a cinnamon roll looking starter bread with olives, currant and a generous sprinkle of rosemary and salt. It came with a pad of homemade honey butter and a dab of olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. It was so umami and paired with the butter seemingly melted in our mouths. We also countered that carb bomb with deliciously charred broccolini with walnuts and a squeeze of citrus. Highly cruciferous veggies should only be grilled based on how fast we cleaned our plate. As for the entrees, the plates are meant to share, but I skipped lunch and ate my own bowl of mafaldine short rib pasta (yes you read that right). It was so hearty and satisfying. As a kid, I loved stealing the cooked lasagna noodles and eating them by itself when my mom would make lasagna, so having it on my own bowl of pasta (in the form of mafaldine) gratified my inner child. The short rib was so tender and it was perfectly sauced. I could have eaten another bowl. My friend ordered a steak and a rigatoni alla carbonara, and while I didn't try the former, the latter rigatoni was so delicious as well. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, and luckily the last one of the night. It had equal parts espresso soaked cake and cream, and it was the perfect sweet note to end our epically delicious meal.
