Good Lord, I think I just had the best pizza I've ever had in my life... and here's why. I've been waiting for a place to really wow me when it comes to pizza, and today it finally happened. I've passed this spot so many times, but every time I've been in the area it's always been before 12, so I never got the chance to try it. Today I finally got here around 12:30 and was able to stop in. I ordered two slices just to test it out... the pepperoni and the vodka slice... and wow, I'm actually glad I only got two because I would've kept going. The vodka slice was insane. The sauce had that perfect balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, super smooth, and you can tell right away everything is fresh. The cheese was creamy and melted perfectly, and those fresh basil pieces on top just brought it all together. The pepperoni was just as good. The slices were curled up with those crispy edges, a little grease sitting in the middle, and packed with flavor. Every bite had that perfect mix of sauce, cheese, and crust. And the crust... that thick, airy, slightly crispy edge with a soft inside... it held everything together without being too heavy. You can tell they know what they're doing. After those two slices, I wanted more so bad, but I had to stop myself. I'm definitely coming back. What's crazy is this place is just sitting there on the corner, and if you didn't know any better, you'd probably drive right past it without thinking twice. But trust me... if you see this, stop and grab a slice. And I actually did something I almost never do... I turned around and went back in just to talk to the owners. I met them, told them how great everything was. Super sweet lady and her partner, both really friendly and appreciative. That made the whole experience even better. This one's worth the trip. Ended up grabbing a pie here based on the rec of the big influencers of the city. Saw the candy manny on the menu and had to give it a try. First bite i've gotta say this thing has got a lot going on. I was actually hoping for a more balanced flavor, but i should have taken the candy as a sign that it would be super sweet, and that it was lol. If you're a savory pizza purist best to avoid this one, but if you love yourself some hot honey I can see that it works well, and surprisingly the candied jalapenos still had a hell of a kick, so it is legit SWEET and SPICY. The letdown here for me was the crust. It looked the part, but just like Hollywood it was all for show. I saw people were hyping it up, but to me the crust was barely any better than a pizza hut hand tossed pan pizza crust. Could have been an off day, but it had no life or chew. Don't let the hole in the wall fool you, this place has great pizza. When I say hole in the wall, it's actually a door or a window on a corner. I got their vodka sauce style pizza. I haven't found a pizza place in LA that wowed me at the first bite like this place did. I ordered the Tipsy Tomato pizza to share with my bf. It comes with six huge slices. I love when pizza is made where the toppings are purposefully placed, and not thrown everywhere. Each slice has a perfect topping ratio - I'm not eating 30 pepperonis on one slice and 5 on the other. I'm not usually a crust girl but I couldn't get enough of the dough. It's seasoned well, perfectly crunchy, and there's not an overwhelming amount leftover where the sauce/toppings end. I also appreciate how this place doesn't have to drown their pizzas in oil to taste good like some pizza places do. I ended up eating two enormous slices and had to take a bite of a third because I just wanted another taste lol. You pickup your whole pizza at a window and ring a bell for service. I believe for slices you can't order ahead and have to check at the window for availability. They do skimp on the amount of plates they give though and the napkins are more like paper towels. Was having people over for the Super Bowl and came across this place, the menu looked interesting so I decided to give it a try. And I'm so happy I did! Placed my order online early in the morning and had plenty of options for when I wanted to pick up the pizza. Showed up and the pies were hot and ready to go. Ordered two pizzas: Tipsy Tomato and Candy Manny. The Tipsy Tomato was made with house vodka sauce, chili oil, basil, mozzarella and ricotta. One of my friends opened the lid and said she didn't want to eat it, it was too pretty. Presentation was great, not going to lie. Being that we eat with our eyes first, this definitely passed the eyeball test. As far as taste, you get a little bit of everything with each bite, and the flavors played well together. With the Candy Manny, you have mozzarella, tomato, pepperoni and ricotta with a calabrian hot honey on top. So you get that saltiness from the pepperoni missed with the sweetness of the honey, but a little heat comes through with the calabrian chili.... just a wonderful bite! Good pizza and the people are super nice! I got a NY style pizza, specifically the Hot-N-Chessy. Perhaps 3-5 minutes after placing my order, I realized I wanted the pizza done Madden's Way. When I went up to the counter, I apologized and asked if it was possible to modify the pizza a little bit. When I reached out for my credit card to pay for the extra toppings, the worker told me to not worry about it with a huge smile on their face. This level of customer service where they go above and beyond, even when the customer made the mistake, means so much. We got the tipsy tomato and added pepperoni and it was so good that we ordered a second to re-heat at home later!
