But after thinking about it for a week, I decided this warning is necessary for others so they don't lose their money. The day before, I DM'd Yumi that I wanted babylights framing the face. I also showed multiple inspo videos during the in-person consultation. Instead I got 2 thick streaks of highlights around my face like Rogue from Xmen, which looked nothing like the inspo video. After I pointed it out, the highlights were dyed darker to tone them down. But as the color fades, the highlights will show again and I'll have to spend more money to fix my hair. I paid $345 for the total look ($300+ tip). If a stylist isn't familiar with a technique or can't do the requested look, they should be honest and inform the client.
