Most places quote 300+ (which is waaaay out of budget for most people), but LaSandra is an absolute sweetheart and always willing to work with you to achieve exactly the look you want at a reasonable price. I've been getting my hair changed every way possible with Sandra for about 10+ years! She is the easiest girl to talk to, she listens to your needs & lets you know what she can't do in that current session (because no hair stylist can make you go from black hair to platinum in just one session!). Back about 10+ years ago, I got my hair trimmed at this one salon & then a couple days later, I decided this other stylist was pretty cool and I wanted her to dye my hair, so I called for an appt. She asked me what color my hair was again because she had forgotten & when I told her it was black, her response was "oh no, I don't deal with black hair, good luck finding someone else" SERIOUSLY? That's where I found Sandra & I've been loyal to her ever since! She never fails with me & I always get a billion compliments on my hair. Oh man. LaSandra is THE crème de la crème when it comes to balayage ombre highlights! I have been wanting them for some time and I was really impressed by the photos I saw on yelp so I decided to give her a try. I have very dark brown (practically black) hair and I was impressed with how un-brassy, blended and natural looking she made highlights on Asian and dark hair. Most people can't or won't try to lift (lighten) very dark hair because they don't want to damage it by bleaching the sh*t out of it or end up making it look brassy. Well let me tell you. LaSandra has made my hair look absolutely gorg! She managed to give be beautiful light ashy highlights and I seriously don't notice any damage. I've had bleached blonde hair and all manner of highlights over the years and my hair has never come out this beautiful with no discernible damage. Whatever lightening products she uses are very very good. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Aside from my ombre highlights, LaSandra is a really cool chick! For the longest time, my best friend (going on 13 years wooo!!) and I wanted to get the balayage ombre look together, but we never really had enough money. Everywhere we looked, it was 300$+ (possibly more than one session) I did a lot of research and I found Lasandra on yelp. I was amazed by the pictures and I immediately texted her. To my surprise, it was only $200 with style, cut, and olaplex. My friend and I began saving up! She responded so quickly and was so sweet. She booked an appointment for me and my friend immediately. We came in a bit late due to traffic, yet she was still so happy to see us and made us feel so welcomed. We were definitely excited to have Lasandra work her magic on our hair. She is definitely someone fun to talk to. The process took about 3.5 hours for both of us, but it didn't really feel like that, because we were having so much fun. There's no doubt that she loves her job. She's extremely passionate about what she does and there's absolutely nothing better than that. We are so happy with our new hairdos! Previously I wrote a review about Lasandra/Sandra on Sunseri Salon's page. I wanted to do a few more updates since I've visited her about 6 times in the past 4 months. (I change, ALOT). Anyway, Lasandra does amazing ombre's. They are very blended and range from different tones of ash, warm, neutral depending on your liking. In the past 6 months, she has progressed a whole lot. She's a quick learner and will do anything to please her clients. I recommend her to everyone I know because she can do it all literally. Aside from her talents, she is very easy going and friendly. I've never felt intimidated or uncomfortable because she just makes you feel assured and relaxed. My hair has progressed so much since my first visit ever. If you want an ombre but are unsure, I say go for it. Also, haircut/trim is included with you color change. ***I have Asian, straight, thin hair. My hair pulls red/orange and brassy tones. Lasandra made sure that I had no orange or brassiness in my hair. I HATE orange. Thanks Lasandra!!! Currently I have chocolate brown hair and absolutely love it. This review is LONG overdue! I was looking for someone closer to home who can do the Balayage/ombré technique and make my hair a nice light and ash tone blonde. Thank goodness for Yelp and Instagram or else I wouldn't have found Sandra! I was going to a hair stylist up in San Mateo, trying to achieve that look but It felt like it would take way too many sessions to get my hair the way I wanted and not to mention it the color after was barely lighter than before and the hair stylist just didn't have the warm & friendly personality that Sandra has. I booked my first appt in 2014 with Sandra. As soon as I walked into the salon, Sandra was very warm and welcoming. I had pictures of how I wanted my hair to look as well as pictures of what I didn't like to give her an idea. She examined my hair very carefully as I explained my my concerns and history as far as what colors I've had my hair dyed before and how recent they were done. After all was said and done, she told me what could and couldn't be done and explained why. She really listens to you and gets your hair the way or almost to how you want it with out damaging it. Sandra makes me feel like I'm talking to a long time friend when I'm in her chair which is another reason why I've been going to her for the last 3 years. She's so great at what she does that I've referred my sister, one of my best friends, her sister and another friend whom are also repeat clients. I constantly get so many compliments on my hair, thanks to Sandra! Bringing in pictures of what you like and don't like is always a good idea! Just remember that everyones hair is different so what you like and see on someone else can't always be duplicated on your own hair but Sandra gets it pretty darn close! read more

Sandra turned my brassy, uneven disaster into my hair goals. I came in with a super brassy, orange-y, damaged mess courtesy of a very expensive mistake of another hair salon. I told her that I wanted a titanium grey, and she was very accommodating of that, but said that it might not be possible in one session. In the end, I walked out with silky, smooth granny hair! It came out within a week and a half, but the end result was a nice ashy blonde balayage. She is so nice and genuine to talk to. March 16, 2016 | Sweetest girl I met! I went here on March 16 (just a walk in) I showed her pictures of what I liked and I asked from her opinion and the front desk lady which one would look good for me. Anyways we chose one and it only took an hour and a half. I would recommend going to do your hair from her! I'm coming back next month to do more to my hair and hopefully if my hair grows more longer by then, get the cut I want. Can't wait to see you! I went to Lasandra after yelping her as well and was excited to get my hair done from her. However my experience was not what I expected. I told her I wanted Balyage ombre. I told her I have always been dark haired and showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She assured me she would take care of me (and make my hair look like the picture I showed her from her own instagram page). She started off by cutting my hair and using a back comb technique. Ladies- if you have thick hair, you know that teasing and back combing will leave you with tangles galore. Again she assured me that she would take the tangles out with conditioner. At the end of my 4 hr visit my hair was not like I asked (it came out looking like a carrot color rather than the blonde I showed her). She over did the ombre rather than the balyage. My hair was extremely tangled after the wash and her attempts to take the tangles out hurt my scalp so I offered to do the job. I lost a ton of hair in that process. She knew I was unhappy as I sated numerous time it was not the color I was looking for. I was still charged full price (even though my hair was not styled or completely blow dried) and was offered another apt to get more toner put in two weeks later. When I went home and washed my hair again and was unsatisfied with the color. I went to another hair stylist who was able to fix my color and laughed at the way the cut was done because my hair was not cut properly. I was told there were bangs that were left too long and the layers lasandra gave me were too choppy. I booked my appt w Lasandra for balayage three months in advance for me and my sis. I was scheduled for 5:30 and my sis was scheduled for 3pm. She colored my sisters hair and while she was combing she asked her to help comb out the tangles. LOL you're getting paid to do the job. I was watching her work on my sis till about 7pm (my appt was for 5:30) and then she started gagging. She said that she was pregnant and that there was a chance she would not be able to take me today. She told me she'd let me know in five mins. She didn't say anything so I assumed she would take me. At 7:40 she looks at me and says sorry, I don't think I'll be able to do your hair today, but reschedule with me and I'll give you a $40 discount. I was so upset about the fact that she was going to charge me $220 for a three hour job but after wasting over 2 hours of my time had the nerve to offer me a $40 credit. So your time is worth over $70 an hour but mine is $20 an hour LOL. No thank you. Super unprofessional. I'd rather spend double the amount and go to someone that values their clients time, as they do their own. read more
