I have to admit I'm a serial hairstylist person - always trying to find the right one. My search is over. Ralphie and her beautiful shop is everything I've been searching for. Ralphie is a caring stylist who actively continues her education, who is an expert in color and cutting and gets the job done efficiently and with reasonable rates, and a shop that is clean and bright and calm with lots of parking. She listens to what I'm thinking but doesn't have a problem helping me understand what my hair can and can't do so I can make an informed decision. Her color skills are top notch - I get compliments all the time about my highlights. She makes cutting hair look so easy and hits the mark every time. In my case I went from mid-length to a long pixie. I don't know how she does it but this cut needs very little styling and it grows out beautifully. If you have been looking for a great colorist and stylist Ralphie at Halo Hair Salon is a find. I've been searching for a person that not only knows color but knows how to do a decent cut since I moved to El Dorado Hills 7 years ago. I went through several people (and a couple of trips back to the 80's with a mullet and a Little Orphan Annie perm that took FOREVER to grow out) when thanks to COVID I got a break from hair salons. I was MORE THAN OVERDUE for a good cut and color. I kept seeing Ralphie's "Before and After" photos on facebook and held my breath and jumped in. So glad I did, because I LOVE MY HAIR. Ralphie is a COLOR EXPERT (she can share her expertise as to why with you). She has also been doing hair for many years so when you ask for "layers" or "feathering" she knows what that means and you don't end up with a mullet. I like my hair layered as it bounces up my natural curl and SHE DID IT!!! My color was also returned to something that didn't resemble a two-tone dye job. The way she blended my color and added high lights makes it look so natural AND because of the pesky grey hair I'm getting, you do not see my outgrow with the colors she has selected especially for me. I think because of her expertise and her years in the industry she has honed her craft. I've seen other clients come in a mess and leave as happy as I have been! She has her own salon and customer service is VERY IMPORTANT to her. Plus her salon is adorable. I love coming to Ralphie! When I found her I was desperately in need of a cut right after covid restrictions were lifted. I called FROM THE PARKING LOT WITH WET HAIR and she answered, and told me to come in and she would take me. She washed, blow dried, and cut my hair really nicely. I didn't even expect she would do my shampoo as well which I was really happy about. I stared coming to her more often just to have her style my hair for me. Soon after I told her I wanted more blonde work done which I was nervous about due to previous hairdressers who had caused massive damage to my hair. I am naturally dark, and after bleaching and improper toning my hair was severely damaged, dry, and would hardly grow. I had so much breakage! Well Ralphie exceeded my expectations. Because of her, my hair is in one of its best conditions that it has ever been. She takes her time in what she does and does it properly. Our visits are long at times because she makes sure to use proper method as not to damage your hair. I feel so fortunate to have found Ralphie! I am very particular and also afraid to have a new person do my hair. I have dark brown hair that's highlighted to a light brown/dark blond. I wanted to go even lighter. I had a bad experience at a well-known, upscale (fancy schmancy) salon with poor customer service and stylist not giving me what I requested, even after I returned for her to fix it. In a professional hair stylist, I expect her to really listen to what the client wants, be honest about what she is capable of doing with your hair, and upfront about the costs.
