She told me she was in Granada Hills, but I had to drive an hour and a half to simi Valley to see her in her house when I got there, she was very kind to me, but Did not listen to a word that I said about what I wanted for my hair I made the mistake and got bangs and now I want to cry because they look so terrible and I have to work like this. I came in for a partial highlights I had checked her reviews on yelp and they were five star. People were saying she was really good. But when I got there she seemed to be in a rush and didn't listen to what I said I wanted. I told her that I didn't want brassy highlights and that's what I got. In addition she did them so fast and so chunky that there are spots missing and it leaked out onto my roots. Afterword I saw that they were brassy so I wanted a toner. she told me a toner didn't exist so she put an all over color and bleached my roots. The end result was haphazard highlights with splotchy leopard spots on my head as seen in the picture. read more

Made an appointment way ahead of time and she said she had to change the time. Fine, I get it things happen so I did that. I texted the day of later to confirm I will be there for the new appointment time that she wanted and no response so I showed up. I go there and she's working on someone else's hair. I said I'm here for my 1:00 appointment (whatever the time was). She said I canceled with her. I had no idea wtf she was talking about other than she was making things up to seem like I was the one who messed up. I changed my plans for that day around her schedule and wasted my afternoon after I was kind enough to change my appointment for her. Wasted my time and gas money. I had bought a Groupon and was able to get a refund on this because apparently this has happened to other people. I don't doubt that she may do a great job on hair, but seriously you get 1 chance to make a first impression and she blew it. I would not recommend her. She was very rude to me. First of all, I was so nice and smiling the whole time. I came in there with a positive attitude ready to get a haircut. She did not listen to anything I asked her to do. Everytime I would ask her of something, she would say "You are giving me a headache".. I would ask again because I see uneven spots in the way she's cutting.. she says "Can you let me finish " And then she was going to cut my bangs and I told her "I want it this short." Honestly, i didn't have anywhere to go I was just having a bad week and wanted to do something. I really wasn't in any mood and I came to Shanna. Honestly, I came in feeling down and stressed out and left smiling. Shanna has that sincere, positive vibe about her that she radiates! We talked, laughed all while she worked so quick! We share a lot of the same ideas so you know we really could have kept this going, but her phone was blowing up with so many appointment requests it was time for me to leave! Don't go for color. Worst color I've ever had. I went for highlights coming from a medium brown with a little auburn in it. The very front of my hair surrounding my face is LITERALLY white. I'm glad some people had good outcomes with their hair. I tried to post a fair, not scathing review, but since Shana thinks telling people to speak up loudly so they don't get talked over is 'negative judgement' and that I should try to 'be a better person' after I was told how wonderful and patient and kind and beautiful I am, (her words) I will elaborate. I had to go twice because the first try at highlights was so horrible- globs of color, some white, some yellow blond, some orange, some places missed- had to go out of town the next morning with this mess. Back the following Tuesday to 'fix' it, heard lots of excuses and was questioned repeatedly about whether or not I was taking medications... no, nothing. Phase 2 was to add my own color onto my hair (which i was told is the perfect shade to do highlights) and then do highlights again. Did this work? Still have globs of white and yellow blond and orange, and roots which are even darker than my natural shade. Quite the mash of colors! My friends jokingly ask me where's my corner... glad I kept the home highlights kit. Nothing i could do myself could be any worse. Shana, truthfully, you should refund all my money. I went to Shanna at Elixir salon for a haircut and highlights 2 weeks ago and it was the worst salon experience of my life . She chopped my hair unevenly, one side longer than the other freehand without parting or using a comb and even used the wrong scissors making bottoms of my hair all jagged besides the fact that she burned my hair from over bleaching and leaving it spotty. She doesn't listen to you at all. I asked her to take 2 inches off the ends and she took 6. First she took 4 then kept going back freehand while my hair has dried snipping and snipping trying to even it out only to make it shorter and more uneven. At the end she asked how I wanted it parted and I said from the middle and she said no, that's no good and I later realized why. The whole front of my hair, my long bangs were different on each side not to mention the back and front sides. She styled my hair adding curls saying it's the "in thing to do", which I now know why. It was to hide the horrible job she did cutting my hair. Just before I left the salon she said if you have a problem with the my work please don't write a bad review just call me to take care of it so I did. She told me to come back to get it fixed by her. Why would I want her to ever touch my hair again? I told her no, just give me back my money so I can go somewhere else to try to at least salvage what they can from this terrible haircut and highlights. She refused and said I have no money for you. I've been calling the number listed online leaving messages for someone to call me and no one answers or returns calls. I just can't believe she has a license which I don't remember seeing anywhere at the salon. What she did is barbaric . She didn't even try to cut my hair like a professional. I could've done a better job. She left me to comb out my own hair which instead of washing she had just rinsed with water so she could go out to smoke. Do not go to this salon or you'll regret it,.
