I was looking for a change of my hair color and after seeing VICTORS REVIEWS I decided to make an appointment with HIM at HAIR BY VICTOR he's the worst hair stylist I ever went to Don't KNOW ABOUT THE OTHERS am sure there must be good ones but my experience with him wasn't good , he left me with bleach almost 3 hours while he worked on a Brazilian blowout , what a nightmare that was for me my hair has been damaged for 3 1/2 months and been putting treatments since and still can't get it fixed and doesn't grow as fast as it did before, wouldn't recomend him to anyone STAY AWAY FROM "HAIR BY VICTOR" SPECIALLY FROM VICTOR prices are fare but how good is it when work is crappy!!!!! I have an ear piercing and every time I get my hair cut I almost get it pulled out my a comb, but he was so considerate of it and it didn't get snagged once My hair looks fantastic! 8 years ago my friend's niece attended Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. Reluctantly I let her cut and color my hair for practice. Sassoon cuts are precise and she did a great job, I loved it. She graduated and moved back to San Francisco. I didn't want to pay for a cut in an expensive shop so I tried a couple of trendy shops that were good, but it wasn't the exact cut. I impulsively stopped into Victors shop and he knew the cut. In fact, he was an instructor for Vidal Sassoon! His shop is unpretentious (like him) but he knows his cuts. His prices are affordable considering his talent. Three of my girlfriends and my redheaded boyfriend are now his clients. I've been living in west Hollywood for the majority of my life. My boyfriend and I been going to Johnathan at Tite Ends Salon and thought this was the best price and place for hair cuts. Along with moving to the valley together we were told we could no longer do business with johnathan cause his hours got crazy early and we just weren't morning people. So after coming late we were "let go". I was afraid I wouldn't find anything better but alas we stumbled upon Victor. Not only were the prices even more reasonable but he makes my hair feel amazing all I do is brush it and it falls into perfect style. I don't even need to blow dry after showers. Let me put it this way- I didn't get a terrible haircut, but Victor didn't do what I wanted either. I showed him a specific picture because that was the style I wanted, and had gotten before. My hair is fine textured but I have a medium amount of it, and I wanted a cut that would help volumize my hair and help it look fuller. I knew that it wouldn't be 100% exactly the same as the picture, but I still wanted something very similar. Instead of actually layering my hair (which he asked about and I said yes do the layers) he cut it like you'd cut bangs. As he did it he told me he didn't want to do it too short so it looked like bangs (which is understandable and I appreciate that) but he just kinda cut a chunk angled shorter than other parts of my hair instead of doing a layer. I guess long story short is that I wanted more layering and a fuller effect, and instead got a slightly feathery 2005 look. I can style it to look modern, but I'm not too enthusiastic. I'm sure that all the other posts are genuine but this guy just didn't float my boat. read more

The quest to find a good hair stylist seems to be never ending. I can count on one hand the times I have been impressed with a cut. Anyways, walking in here I had low expectations yet that doesn't mean I didn't have hope. I don't think I had the owner but another guy. Sure he was nice but I was still disappointed because I basically got an overpriced trim. My hair does not look that much different from what I had before. It's not bad but it is not great either. Everything felt rushed and there was no time/effort put into any details. Did not like the blow out either. I wasn't even offered a mirror when he was done which was strange. I get the impression they are good with color but I don't care about that. Either way, the search goes on. read more
