Natalie fixed my hair cut after I had gotten a bad haircut from another place earlier in the day. First time in my life I got two haircuts in the same day. She came in absolutely clutch and was very nice. She helped me figure out how to improve the chopped look I got from another barber. Lesson: I'm going to Hair Cuttery at this location next time. I even showed her pictures and everything I told her every detail that I wanted and she end up doing the worst hair cut that I ever had, It was not that hard to say "no I can't do it" never go this place they will pretend that they know how to do everything when it's not true. Thats not all, I know she didn't know how to do the hair that I asked for and I told her to stop cutting on the top because she was cutting too much and she said yes only one inch and she almost leave me bald, it was the worse experience. I wasn't initially going to write a review, but every time I look at my hair, I hate it more. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the stylist who did my hair, but thinking back on the experience, she wasn't skilled. I'll take responsibility for not trusting my gut and walking out, but I figured she was a professional and would know what she was doing. When I asked for a simple haircut instead of highlights because I wasn't fully confident in her, she told me she had booked me for three hours, and I felt bad, so I stuck with it -- something I now regret deeply. I showed her a picture of brown hair with lighter brown highlights that I wanted but decided against it due to the cost. We then agreed to stick to my base color with dark brown highlights , but instead, I ended up with dark blonde highlights, which I specifically said I didn't want . I also asked for layers, and instead, I got long bangs with a trim. Layers should be basic for a senior stylist, but I didn't get them. The blending of the highlights is terrible, and I hate the way they look, especially since she started them in the middle, which looks even worse than the 'skunk look' she warned me about. Whoever did my hair shouldn't be working in a salon if they can't handle the basics. And as you can see from the picture of the inspiration and then end results you can clearly see it's no where close. read more

Nooshin is the only hairstylist that I trust when it comes to my hair, my mom and my daughter (especially her eyebrows). She's the best! Great personality and definitely sense of style. Very accommodating and very wonderful. If you had a bad experience with other Hair Cuttery locations, try to go here and look for Nooshin. UPDATE: I went back to get my hair done (cut and colored). A disaster haircut by Grace, she had no clue how to cut men hair. I usually don't write a bad review but I felt so disappointed. She literally spent 3 min on my hair, as if she just wants to move on with another client. Very bad service and top of it a bad hair cut! I felt so ripped off. Jean eyeballed my current hue and mixed a complimenting shade. This HC uses Redken and the color was mainly dark brown w/a tiniest amount of mahogany since I get bored of dark brown. Just a little hint for some variety. It'll likely show after my next shampoo. Jean is great at hairdrying/styling my angled bob. Since she still had to cut my nephew's hair next plus had another client today, I couldn't get a cut. But it's all good. Cold weather = grow bob to a lob. It's ideal to call ahead when scheduling an appointment w/Jean since she has a steady flow of regular clients like my bro and nephew. This review is for the Germantown location on Century Blvd. I was able to schedule a same day appt with Jean, who was fantastic. I had an idea of what I wanted as far as color/cut and she was able to discern and focus my attention to do you want this or that? Lighter color/darker color? Highlights/lowlights? She was very patient with me while I considered options and sought her feedback on color for highlights. She gave a fantastic scalp massage when washing out my color and completed the cut to my great satisfaction. She even blew out my hair, which, having curly hair, was a real treat as I don't do this at home due to the time it takes. She did not force any product sales on me, which was highly appreciated. Don't waste your time. Spent almost three hours in the salon while the stylist (who clearly didn't know what she was doing) attempted to color my daughter's hair. We asked for blue coloring on the under part of her hair and we ended up with a gross yellowish green but nothing close to what it was supposed to be. My daughter questioned the color and the stylist said.."This IS blue." Maybe she's colorblind but she's absolutely wrong. I went in with a simple request to have long layers and an inch taken off the length. This is by far the worst haircut I've ever gotten. The stylist didn't blend the sides. My husband got a hair cut at this location. All he wanted was a number 1 on the sides and number 2 on the top. He came home with a high tight that was uneven in the back and not what he wanted. I called the place to see if he can come back and get it fixed. The lady over the phone keeps telling me they are busy and "well he told me he loved it". Didn't even offer to fix it for him. If you want people to come back again maybe try making the moment right instead of making excuses on why you can't fix it for him. Horrible customer service. read more

I got a high and tight that's not even cut right. It's not tapered or faded at all. And it's crooked. They are horrible. I guess she was in a rush to get to her appointment that followed. I go here often as it's never busy probably because people don't want shit haircuts. It's about 50/50 whether they come close but this was he last straw. I get my hair and eyebrows done here and have done so for about 8 years. The location is convenient and the prices are good, but the quality of service has really gone downhill. I will definitely be looking elsewhere. The last time I got a haircut, it was from someone new there. I think her name was Alyssa. I came home and noticed the left side was at least an inch longer than the right side. I was so upset. Didn't want to ever go back there, so I fixed it myself. Absolutely unacceptable for a place specializing in haircuts. Come on now. As for eyebrow waxing...I've left so many times with completely straight eyebrows. No arches, nothing. Even after I explain exactly what I want. I've given them chances but now I go to Andy's Nails for my eyebrows. I've had enough of waiting to grow out my eyebrows because someone at the Hair Cuttery ruined the shape. Not to mention the couple of times Grace literally burned my skin with wax that was too hot. It can be very busy there, so an appointment is recommended. My kids only let Miriam cut their hair. They have never cried when she does it. When she does my hair, she asks questions about how I want it, and she is fast & very good. Others there have cut my hair, and rarely is there an issue. read more

I gave this Hair Cuttery 4/5 stars be cause I've been to a few of the stylists here and it's kind of hit or miss. Until I found Sima. First, I'm male, and it's very difficult to find a stylist that is competent at cutting men's hair without just rushing through it to get to a higher paying color job, or perm, for some chick that's going to pay 4-5 times what I pay. But if you go here, and ask for Sima, you won't regret it. She doesn't try to talk your ear off, but is still friendly and does try to get to know you a little. She doesn't rush through the process, and always asks before doing something permanent, like cutting off your sideburns, or not. She asks how you like your neckline cut, etc. Overall I just can't rank her high enough. Everytime I go in now she recognizes me by face and always, always, does a great job. read more

I came in today and made a last minute appointment with Patricia. 3:00 and it took 2 hours with all I needed was a trim and make my hair added more volume. When I saw Patricia she asked me how much I'd like for her to cut and she showed me the difference between 1/4 and 1/8. After I told her to take 1/8 on the top but I also would like the back of my hair to have more volume. I also told her I wanted the split ends cut which is noticeable on the sides. She did say ok Bonita I got it. She then, washed my hair again after I told her that I just washed it 30 minutes ago before I came in but she said it would be better if she washes it again. When she cuts my hair she normally would ask if I'd like my hair the way she cut it and if I'm not happy with it she takes her time making sure I got the haircut that I like. But this time she turned it around on me. I told her after she took so long to blow dry my hair as when she was done and asked me if I like it I told her I wanted more volume. Rather than making sure I'm satisfied (which she normally does) she then said to me that "That's what I asked you if you want 1/4" or 1/8" to be cut off and that's exactly what I did." I told her the main reasons I came back to her is that I like how she takes care of her customers and I had a really great experience with her, but this time rather than fixing what I'm not satisfied with the way she cut it she then told me, "I have an appointment for color but if you want to wait which I'm afraid probably would take longer than mine to do, she wanted me to wait when she's doing the next customer to do his hair color and she said that she will fix mine then." The problem is normally it doesn't take 2 hours for a trim and blow dry and since I'm the one that she pointed out that it's me that's wrong, that I should wait.till she's done with doing her color customer. I had texted her that I will no longer go back to her as her treatment towards me today is very unprofessional. I'm so disappointed with her and her work ethic. read more
