Overall though, the salon is in a good location. I also like how they have a private room for waxing. Now I can get my neck waxed without having the everyone to see. I first meet Kim 8 years ago when Hair Plus used to be next to Giorgio's. She's been coloring and cutting my hair and my mom's since then. I wanted to try Balyage with a fun cut. Kim did a great job hand painting my hair and making sure I was comfortable. I am very pleased with the way my hair came out. The tips are light and the dark color on top hides the pesky gray hairs. It all blends very naturally. The next day at work I received a ton of compliments from my coworkers on both the color and cut. This is an update to my previous post. Cathy is my go-to gal when it comes to eyelashes and eyebrow waxing...but recently I also made time to get a facial and IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! I know Cathy to have very gently hands and she always keeps the mood/sound/lighting very calming and relaxing. I typically have to keep myself from falling asleep on the table just getting my lashes done. This time was even better. I had eyelashes and a facial...I think i fell asleep and my legs jolting woke me up... only to giggle to myself. Cathy made no mention, but I'm sure she would have giggled too. My facial was AMAZING...it felt so good, as if I could feel my pores being cleansed. Extractions were fine and I was able to leave the shop without looking crazy. My face was glowing, and in all the right places. I actually was able to go to the store after...which is not usual after some treatments. There was no redness to cover up with glasses or a hat. Hair plus is amazing. Kim treats your hair just like her own. I got my Keratin treatment for my hair from Kim. I got it done on Aug 19th 2017 and the effect of it is still there. She did not exaggerate anything about this treat just like others did. She mentioned it will stay for 4-5 months and its already 4 months. My hair used to be with very rough texture and damn frizzy. now it became soft and easily manageable. I don't even need to comb my hair daily i just use my hands to just brush my hair and leave it. Horrible. I would give it 0 starts if I could. I went there for an updo. I had an appointment but I had to wait 20 minutes because they had other clients. When she called my name, she asked what I wanted. I showed her the picture, which coincidentally had directions on how to do the style. She gave me the worst updo ever. I looked like I had a bird's nest on top of my head. I told her I wasn't happy and that it didn't look like the picture I showed her. She obviously didn't care. I really like my new haircut that I got from Kim. She was informative, listened to what I wanted but still gave me suggestions. I haven't gotten my hair cut in over 2 years so you could only imagine how long and damaged it was from bleaching. I've had my fair share of bad haircuts (they were either poorly layered, too thinned out, uneven, or just plain bland) so I was nervous about chopping a lot off. But my long layers came out really good! Kim made sure to cut enough of my damaged ends off yet keep a flattering length. The haircut took about an hour and Kim still took her time to perfect my ends and layers even after her client had come in for her appointment. I thought I'd be missing my thigh length hair but I'm actually happy with this healthier alternative. Price was about $35 not including tip but considering I went from weightless, flat, broom hair to voluminous, fluffy medium hair, it was worth it. :) read more

Decided to do Keratin Smoothing treatment done after a colleague's feedback. I am so happy with the results of the treatment. About Kim, who did the treatment, shes excellent at this. She was very patient and heard all my needs, concerns before suggesting any treatment right away. Cathy is amazing with eyelash extensions! Just tell her what look you want and you can be sure that she delivers! I've been going to her for more than a year now. If you take a proper care of your extensions, they can last up to 3-4 weeks (I shower with glasses so my eyelashes don't get wet, and then clean my eyes with a towel/wet wipes.) She's also superflexible with scheduling appointments - just text her and she'll find a spot for you. Plus she's a great person; I always look forward to talking to her. Cathy rocks! read more

Kim is an awesome stylist. I got a keratin smoothing treatment in early March for the first time, and she did a very nice job. She texted me several times before the treatment to answer all my questions. Afterwards she followed up with me to make sure things were OK. Great service! My hair was much more manageable and I was able to keep it longer than I normally could. The shampoo, conditioner, and serum that she recommended did wonders, they kept my hair soft and shinny for months. It's been about 4.5 months since I had the treatment, and it looks like it might be time to get another one soon. I worried my hair would look damaged once the treatment wore off, but it just kind of went back to the way it was before the treatment. I've been back to Kim twice in between March and now for haircuts. She listened to my requests and did a nice job on the haircuts, too. She smoothed out the ends where another stylist messed up before the treatment. I know she must be busy but she is never rushed. I appreciate that she is focused on my hair, not other phone calls or her next appointments. I will be coming back to Kim for my hair needs. read more

If I could only give it zero stars. Went in for a haircut, the older asian woman rushed to cut my hair as another customer/friend she knew walked in. I really feel bad leaving such few stars, but I was disappointed with how my hair turned out. I called them ahead of time to let them know that I wanted to get a hair color and asked if anyone was available to work with me. They said I can come in anytime since they don't have any appointments. I was excited and told the lady that I wanted a darker brown hair color; just undecided which shade of BROWN I wanted. The lady helping me started showing me REDs as highlights since she said its going to look great with my black hair. I kept insisting that I don't like that shade especially since I am dark-skinned. I pointed to a brown color and the lady went to the back to prepare my dye. She then started highlighting my hair! I told her I wanted a color AND then highlight and she went on rumbling about what she's doing is going to look good at the end. Well, the whole thing ended and I was not happy with the way it turned out. Even my boyfriend thought I dyed my hair. Oh well.. I am just waiting for some time to get my HAIR COLOR and NOT HIGHLIGHTS done. read more

This review is about the Keratin treatment that i had done about a month ago.I have been going to Kim with all my hair needs for a number of years now, recently she did a keratin treatment to my hair and I am so happy and satisfied. I have thick hair and usually have to flat iron my hair after shampooing to tame my hair down a bit. This treatment cut down my hair care by 20-30 min. My hair now is always smooth and shiny without any effort. I have gotten so many compliments about how shiny and bouncy my hair looks. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the treatment is quite lengthy, be prepared to give up 3-4 hrs. of your time. It is all worth it ! read more

I have been going to Cathy for eyelash extensions for about 3 months now. Every time I go it feels like a mini vacation. this place is so baaaaad that you would be a fool to go there. 1. first time in went i got a great cut from someone called Yvonne. as it turned out, that ws a fluke becuase 2. the second time, she did some real funny business on my hair. it was ridiculous and horrible. somewhere between a mullet and i dont know what. she did not know enuff to repeat waht she did last time. 3. i came back to get it fixed and she made it worse. 4. a friend of mine insisted on going there and yet again, the same lady RUINED her hair. 5. this friend wanted to get her arms and legs waxed and they took a total of TWO HOURS. no exxageration. normally it takes 1/2 hr. Max. 1 hr, if you go to someone who knows what they are doing. that woman did not know what she was doing. and they charged $100. this place is unprofessional no training is given to the poeple. the waxing lady was fumbling with teh wax and the applicator and worst of all she did not even know to stretch the skin when pulling and caused soo much skin streching and pain. If you want to waste your hard earned money, go there. One girl used to work there and she was good. Now i go to her at another salon. read more

This business is terrible and dishonest. I booked an appointment in advance for lashes. When I purchased a groupon for the service I got the morning of to tell me that they couldn't do it anymore that day because it was a groupon and not a regular appointment (even though I had a long discussion about scheduling with the person with whom I booked the appt, which by the way I had planned my day around, and an event that night for which I wanted them done). When I explained that I really needed them done she finally agreed but asked if I could come a half hour later. Although this was annoying because it was the day of and I had plans, I agreed and showed up on time. At this point I would have gone somewhere else but couldn't find anything so last minute for this type of service. When I showed up for my APPOINTMENT, I walked into an unkempt salon and was brought into a tiny, not so clean looking room, in which the woman who was going to do the lashes mumbled something to me about how I shouldn't expect the lashes to last more than a week because they are no longer allowed to use the "good" glue... I questioned what she meant-since I have ample experience with lash extensions and I know they should last at LEAST 2 weeks and for me sometimes 3-4- and was then told she could no longer do the service at all. I think she realized I was the type of person to actually say something and didn't want to go through with giving me a sub par service that she knew was not what was advertised in the groupon. Thank goodness I had experience because had this been my first time she would have taken my money and used the not as good glue (so that if have to come spend money more quickly to get it re done). Anyway, I asked to speak to a manager, simply because I felt like the language barrier was particularly difficult and I wanted to make sure I was understanding her correctly! The manager wasn't really any more of a help, although her attitude was a bit less aggressive than the employee. Overall I'm disgusted that a business would run like this and that these people are even allowed to be open. I can't speak to the quality of their work but if it's anything like the quality of their character then I'm sure it's crap! I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy and am so disgusted with how I was treated and the fact that I wasn't able to get the service done that I paid for, and my only that I wasted so much time in my day dealing with them! read more
