I had my first experience getting lash extensions with Cathy and couldn't be more thrilled with both the outcome and experience. A co-worker had gotten hers done at another more expensive location and frankly I was a bit nervous since hers didn't really look as natural as I expected. Thankfully my initial full set was all I was hoping for and more. They looked perfectly natural and lasted 3 weeks before I went in for a fill which also turned out great. I have visited this place a few times for hair cut. When they were new, the service was better, and they cut the hair as I wanted, and were willing to go extra mile (and get rewarded in tips). However, service has been declining and they have been cutting corners. And last time was the worst experience I had. The asian girl performing the hair cut rushed to finish it, and said she was done within ~5 mins. When I asked her to correct the hair at the places she missed, she picked up an argument with a condescending attitude, and before long started shouting at me. This was quite an attitude, and worst I ever faced in a hair stylist. When I asked for the owner/manager she said she was the owner. At this point I gave up, and just got out of there. I've been going to Kim for years n she always does an excellent job. I just explain to her what I want and she does exactly that, if not better. I used to go to another salon but they used to charge me up the wazoo. That salon was great too but they would charge me $40 for a haircut. Yes i said $40! lol Kim charges $15. It's a full service salon so they do everything at a decent price. Last time I told Kim I wanted a haircut with layers and bangs with some blonde streaks here and there and she did an awesome job. I was referred here by one of my good friends and she made an appointment for me to get my haircut with Kim. My first impression of her was that she was very friendly and sweet. I wanted to dye my hair, but I couldn't decide on a color so she helped me out. She picked two colors for me that she thought I would like and I ended up choosing this brown/mocha color. I was very happy with the outcome because it was something I wanted. She then layered my hair, but kept the length and styled it for me. She did a very good job and i loved it! She didn't cut my hair too short like most hair salons. Her cuts are very modern and is very patient. She knew and understood how I wanted my hair and it came out perfectly. Therefore, go with Kim! This review is for the lash extension service. I found out about this place through groupon. Instead of paying groupon directly for the service, my sister paid directly to the woman who did our lashes ( she honored the groupon price). The woman who did our lashes was nice and friendly, it's just a shame that the lash extension was not up to par. My sister called to schedule an appointment for both of us. We were able to get the appointment the same day that we called...My sister went first then it was my turn. When I came in, I was informed to lie down immediately. The woman never even asked me what I wanted. She didn't ask me how long I wanted the lashes to be. She didn't want me if I wanted natural or a more glamour look. She didn't ask me if I was allergic to glue. She didn't ask me if my eyes were sensitive. She then proceeded to do my lashes. It didn't take her long to do my lashes. She was finished in about 45 minutes-50 minutes. I felt like she rushed through them. I was quite surprised when she told me she was finished. She then gave me a mirror to take a look. I told her there were some spots that were missing a few lashes. She didn't go back to put more on, she just took her tweezer to spread out the lashes to cover those missing spots. My sister had already paid for the service so I didn't want to argue with her. The lashes looked okay but they felt pretty sparse. I had the expectation for the lashes to look full, that is why people go for lash extension for longer and fuller eyelashes. Half an hour after I left, some of the lashes started to fall off. It's day 2 and my right eye is starting to look sparse. These lashes are falling off faster than any usual lash extension. Lash extension is supposed to last up to 6-8weeks. These lashes will not last more than 1 week. read more

When I arrived at my appointment, I reminded the lady that I purchased a groupon for a full set of lashes. The woman told me the Groupon price was wrong. She told me that what I paid for was only the natural set and not what I wanted. I asked to see what the difference between natural and full set was. She showed me one picture on her tablet and even admitted it was difficult to see. She constantly told me had I hadn't paid enough and I needed to pay her an extra $20. She even asked how much I paid for my groupon. She started working on my leashes and told me that she'd show me part way through to see if I wanted natural or full. She continued to tell me that I needed to pay an extra $20. She texted a number of times and even left the room part way through without saying a word. She came back telling me that the owner said my Groupon expired even though I didn't show them my Groupon. I told her that it didn't expired and she said don't worry that I just needed to pay an extra $20. Part way through she let me see and I told her it was good. She told me it was the natural set and I needed to pay the $20. She told me to call her directly instead of the salon and I needed to come in every 2 weeks. She spoke to the owner (in a language i doesn't understand ) walked me to the front and charged me the extra $20 even though she told me that I only needed to pay $20 for the full set and she told me that I got a natural set. The lashes looked nice. But one week later to the day all of my lashes fell out. And now my lashes are less full than before. But I thank groupon for standing behind their promise and refunding my $20. Buyer beware read more

If I could give this place a zero, I would. The owner Kim is probably the worst business owner ever! I got my hair Japanesed relaxed here before but this time was absolutely awful!! The 4 hour process went okay with the hairstylist. However, I didnt know until I washed my hair 3 days later that they used the cheap product on my hair and the $180 i paid for this permanent treatment went to waste. Obviously I went back to have them redo it and the hairstylist was going to redo it when the owner, Kim refused to redo it free of charge. She does not care about retaining her clients, even ones that have been going there for years and spend money!! Do not waste your time or money here!! All this owner cares about is making money any way possible not caring about the service or product she is providing! Steer Clear!!! read more

I visited this salon recently and found it to be decent so I decided that I will get my hair straightened. They seemed pretty confident so I thought let me give them a try. So I give my hair in their hands. when she first started applying chemicals I asked her why is she applying the chemicals directly and not using supports (people who have straightened hair know what I am talking about). She said have patient it will come ok. after first step i saw my hair hair has stuck to the scalp as if they are forced in that position . I told her again and she said there are more step. So I let her complete it. To my horror. the hair did got stuck to my scalp and hair on the head doesnt move. the only movement is towards the down from the ears. Any body seeing my hair can see there is something wrong with my hair. The stylist didnt agree, she said she is how we are taught in school and this is how we do it. I told her why didnt you use supports and the mere reason to use supports is so that the hair doesnt get stuck to the head and have some bounce. Now my full head is flat and I look weird ..No kidding here. the stylist was very rude and another one joined her and both of them tried to rail road me. I was literally in tears. Whatever you do do not go to this saloon for anything more than a simple haircut. They are not worth it. Unfortunately I heard straightening is irreversible and I am stuck with it. More than that , the way they did it , it has changed direction of the root or hair closer to the scalp and it is causing me headaches. Since the hair is stuck the scalp , my scalp shows making me look bald here and there. I mean this there is nothing worse than messing a woman's hair. Went in for a trim, Kim did a really good job. I've been to many salons that when you ask for a hair trim, cut off 1-2 inches. Kim cut off only enough to get rid of unhealthy hair, leaving my hair smooth again. She is also a good conversationalist and is funny; was worth the $25 plus tip. Kim is amazing! I always come in looking a disaster and walk out feeling amazing. Every time I show Kim a picture of why I want my hair to look like she can recreate it if not make my hair look better. I always ask for her opinion on what color I should dye my hair and what certain cuts she thinks I could get away with and she always has the best advice that I follow. Kim is very experienced and I never worry while she's doing my hair because I know it will come out looking amazing. Her prices are also very fair, I have a giant head of thick hair that takes a while to dye, cut, and dry however I am never overcharged just because my hair takes more work. If you are looking for a new hairdresser then Kim is your woman, I'm serious! I'm doing you all a favor by letting you in on my secret ;) she's a very busy woman because she's excellent at what she does! I'm sure she can fit you all into her schedule though lol. read more

Every lash is intricately placed and she really does take her time making you look glamorous. I've only been here three times for my trims every 6 weeks, but they cut exactly how much I ask them to, unlike some salons where if you tell them you just want a trim, and show them a hair length of 1/2 inch, they cut off 5 inches. I get what I want for no more than $15. During my last visit, I wanted to get some bangs and have it relaxed for the sake of not having to straighten it every day, but the lady, I can't remember her name, wasn't pushy for the sake of making a profit. In fact, she suggested I try bangs for a week and see how I like it, and if I really want my hair relaxed she'd be more than happy to help me BUt, I just read previous yelpers review on their hair relaxing experience, and I probably should me more than thankful that the hair stylist told me to think about it first. read more

This place was highly recommended to me by my sister Erika. So, one day I decided to drop by to see what products or treatments would best fit my particular hair type. Kim, recommend that I do the keratin Treatment by Coppola. I told her that I wanted to eliminate my frizz and loosen up my curls. After getting the treatment done I feel that my hair is a lot more manageable... I can actually run a comb through my hair. It was cozy and relaxing with nice background music. my lashes were fuller. I have long, coarse, spiral curly hair. Kim, my hair stylist, has been trimming and highlighting my hair for years. The latest treatment I got was the Keratin Complex. I love it!! I was hesitant to try it at first because I didn't want to ruin my curls but Kim explained the treatment to me and the best part that made me decide to do it was that it will control 90% of frizz. I recently took a trip to a country that had 80% humidity and for the first time in my life, I wasn't afraid of the moisture surrounding my hair. I wore my hair down the entire time I was there and my hair stayed smooth, volumized and framed my face nicely. I don't have to use any styling products. I use only the Keratin shampoo and conditioner that Kim recommended. I like running my fingers through my hair without having to fight tangles!! :) read more

The room was clean and she even played relaxing music. I even fell asleep through part of the process! The lashes were exactly what I wanted, I didn't want something that looked really fake but more natural with just that extra umph. It seems that she tries to work with the client to customize the look. I also bought an eye makeup remover from her especially for the extensions. I walked into this salon for a conditioning treatment. I did not have to wait and they were happy to see me. The next week I decided to schedule to get my color touched up with Phung (I think she may go by Kim?) and she did a great job. I typically go to Aveda salons which are a bit pricey and was not able to spend as much money, but still wanted to get my color touched up. I was very pleased with how similar it came out to the color I had had before. Overall though, the salon is in a good location. I also like how they have a private room for waxing. Now I can get my neck waxed without having the everyone to see.
