I really wanted to get my gel set off and so I popped by here without an appointment on a Monday afternoon, around 3pm. There was just one lady doing nails and she had a customer already. I mentioned i'd like to get my gels removed. I visited their bathroom while waiting--very clean and tidy, and smelled really fresh. I only waited about five minutes when an older woman told me to come over. I've gotten my nails done at least 50 times before in my life, and my boyfriend's mother is also a manicurist. I'm not an expert by any means but I do know that you've got to put quite a bit of that acetone or whatever it is onto a cotton ball and press it firmly on the nail and then wrap it with foil. The woman working on me put like one tiny itty bitty drop on the cotton then wrapped my nail in foil. She did it fairly quickly, and by the time she finished one hand, she was already pulling off the foil on the previous hand--barely 3 minutes to soak. Usually it takes 5-10 minutes of just chilling with foil fingers. Naturally, the gel hand't begun to peel off very much at all. So she starts sanding/filing my nails. That's new. Usually people use the tool and just scrape it off in one or two swipes. Not this lady! She sanded my nails one by one until they were burning and brittle and painful. I told her it hurt, so she just stopped doing that nail and went on to the next. At one point the phone rang and i Just started using my own nails to peel off the polish and she quickly saw how easily it came off vs. sanding it, and went to grab the tool i mentioned earlier. I was there for 40 minutes just getting my gels off. When i left, my nails were dry, painful, still had gel on some, and uneven. I don't think the lady did it with any malicious intent, but I just think she was the only person available since I didnt have an appointment. A young boy and his mom were also there the same time and apparently the hair stylist kept cutting the boy with the razor cause he was going Ow! Ow! Owww! I overheard the mother say she didnt have a good experience with that woman and that she'd request someone else next time, and whewwwww the hair stylist was glaring daggers and sending so much shade. Not very professional. Anyway, not my favorite place to go whatsoever. First and last time. read more

Overall the place is good but a man haircut jumped from $12 to $15 in less than 2 years so it's getting too expensive too quickly. It would be nice to see a drop in price sooner than later Perhaps they can close on Sundays and Dave some money to give back to customers :) or find another way to save them. read more

I would not come back to this hair salon to get a haircut. The first thing I noticed was the sanitation in the salon. Hair was all over the floor. Gross. In addition, there was a weird smell that lingered. I'm hoping the smell is from the nail salon section. I asked for shoulder length with layers in the front. The hair cutter kept on cutting my hair shorter and shorter and shorter. My hair is way above the shoulder by 1 to 1.5 inches. In addition, I noticed that she would have to redo parts of my haircut after blow drying portions of my hair. It just shows that she was out of practice. Even though the haircut was $13, I would go to other hair salons in Milpitas that are much better. Oh yeah, if you use your credit card, a fee of $.35 will be added. How shady. read more

It's a fantasy that you'd get a good hair cut if you go here. First, the men's cut is 12$, if you're looking for price. The lady was very hard to communicate with. I kept saying that I wanted cut number 2 from the chart, but she kept saying 12. She totally messed up my perfectly fine hair and left a tuft on the side that was awkward. She screwed it up and then went "oh what happened there?" When I asked her how she was going to fix it, she kept blaming how curly/wavy my hair was and how there was nothing she could do. Plus, she was distracted all through my cut, trying to have a conversation with some other folks that were not even customers but dropped by to say hi. Would definitely not go back. read more

Initially, I went for the mani/pedi, and Vicky had a very calming energy about her that really put me at ease trusting her with both my nails & inevitably my hair. She kept all the tools sterilized, checked in to ensure that I was okay with the process and design and didn't come across as gossipy at all. Above all else, I appreciated how cost effective these services were for the beautiful outcomes. It's like you're paying less than $30 for something you'd have to pay $50+ for at a higher end salon. My schedule is completely unpredictable and I seldom have "me time" to get my hair done, so I dropped in without an appointment on a Sunday at 1:30 PM and asked if I could get a perm on such short notice. I only had to wait about five minutes and Rosa took me with a big smile as I hadn't been in for years due to moving out of the area for that period of time. She still knew exactly what I wanted and went to work, using the smallest red rods made (1/8-inch?) that I brought, since extremely tight curls have gone out of style in the face of the straight, flat hair fad. She took extreme care to make sure that the perm solution didn't go anywhere that it shouldn't and she made sure that I was very comfortable while waiting for the perm to set. Thirty minutes later, time to rinse and put in the neutralizer for ten minutes, and then a final rinse, where she was super careful to prevent any splashing on my skin. She toweled everything, did a quick blow-dry on cold to ensure there wasn't any water dripping while leaving enough moisture in for protection, which was locked in with a moisturizing conditioner, and then returned the rods to my collection after a thorough rinsing and drying. I was on my way after less than two hours with my favorite extra-tight curls in otherwise difficult-to-style fine hair that will last at least six months based on past experience with Rosa's outstanding work. Fantasy Hair seems to have delighted customers coming and going whenever I'm there and Rosa is one of the reasons, with the other ladies apparently contributing their share of hard work. You can't go wrong here as long as you tell them what you want, or can show them a photo of what your desire is, since they're Vietnamese with average English-speaking skills, but decades-long workers here and willing to go the extra mile to make your wish their command. I'll be back for color and maybe have my nails done in a couple of weeks and I can't wait for Rosa to do her magic again! read more

This is a no-frills establishment, there is nothing glamorous about it, however they are extremely clean and sanitize everything. You can see them retrieving fresh sanitized tools each and every time. Vicky and crystal both have done my manicures and pedicures over the years. Occasionally if they are not available I have visited other establishments who are not as clean as they are. This establishment has many nail colors to choose from unlike other places that I have visited in the past. I have been coming here for years for manicure and pedicures only. . it is very inexpensive. It is family owned and operated. Please be respectful to this family owned business. I get my nails done every two weeks and i was unable to make it to my original place that i go to so i decided to TRY this place. I shouldnt have. I get GEL NAILS with a color at the tip. Very simple . Never had I had such a bad nail job ever. It has been less than a week and one nail has broken in such a weird way. while others have paint chipping off of them...i dont understand how the paint is chipping off of them when i got GEL on TOP...like i always do. Possibly because the GEL that is used is cheap and the lady that did my nails didnt even let them dry fully. I asked her for another 3min under the UV light but she touched my nails and said FINE FINE. ...not fine. the GEL was NOT set obviously which is why my nails look like crap now read more

I do not recommend this place at all. First I had one lady (she looked like she was in her early 40s) but a regular customer came and he decided to leave because he did not want to wait so then she asked if it was ok if I switched to the other lady... BIG MISTAKE. The other woman kind of old with glasses nearly ripped my scalp out. She brushed too hard and so many times I could feel my hair being abused. She was not gentle and did not ask if her technique was ok. Besides that, I asked for a trim (2 inches off) but instead she cut off 5.5 and she also cut bangs above my eyebrow, (they literally look so bad and she cut them on both sides. I did not ask for bangs at all and did not have bangs at the time either. In addition to this, the woman had me put my hair upside down...and that's how she cut my layers? I've never seen this in my life, literally killed my neck. I had no idea what she was doing. I was beyond upset. The woman tried to argue that what she did was right which made no sense and also she still charged me...she did not even offer to void my charges. This has possibly been my worst hair experience ever and the fact that she did not even apologize is beyond me. If you're still willing to take a chance and get your hair cut here well...I warned ya! read more
