Easy in, out, done. Was looking for a haircut, and didn't feel like spending a fortune. True, the Yelp prices listed are way out of date, but that's ok...still cost less than SuperCuts :) All prices for all things are out of hand, so it is what it is. Only one stylist on site. 4 chairs and 4 mani/pedicure stations, but she told me since COVID, that side of the business went belly up. I don't believe there is any justification for the damages done to small businesses, but that's for another time and place. Neu Cut is just in a little pod of stores hiding around behind a MacDonalds. At 4pm on a Wednesday, like I said, easy in and out. I explained the length I wanted, a little banter about my hair's idiosyncrasies and in less than 15 min, I had the cut I wanted. Now, Yelp listed a man's haircut as being $9. Honestly, I haven't seen that price in decades. She charged me $15, so no big surprise, and we're good to go. I think maybe a good scrub down wouldn't hurt. There were scary dark areas under the counter. Spilled dye is one thing, but this stuff was either masses of black hair piled in the corners from way too many quick sweeps or a mold :o I didn't get down on my knees under the counter to check, so I'm going with hair piles. A vacuum or small broom and knee work would help a great deal. Other than the less than thorough detailed cleaning, there were no issues with Neu Cuts, and I have no problem recommending them. read more

Came in late Saturday afternoon. It's a small and cozy neighborhood salon. I was a walk-in and was greeted right away and only waited a few minutes before I was serviced while they were cleaning up a bit. I appreciate that they keep the store nice and tidy for clients. I had asked for a women's wash and haircut price prior over the phone, $16+ for just a cut and $25 for a wash and cut together. I had visited their website before and like I thought the prices posted were outdated. The well-known Jackie serviced me like I hoped she would for my first time here. I have really long hair. For a slightly below average height Asian woman my hair was several inches past my pelvis. She was nice enough to ask what temp water I was okay with as she was wetting my hair. She washed my scalp and hair thoroughly very gently and took the time to squeeze out all the excess water before we walked over to the chair. I wanted to cut 10in from the bottom then have a long layered cut. We confirmed what shape I wanted it to have in the end. My hair was tangled all over and I was amazed she was able to gently comb it all out section by section with a just a flat comb and her hands without feeling a tug on my scalp at any time. I usually don't even use a brush, and have to use my fingers to comb out my hair while dry and as gently as I go I always tug on my scalp! She started gently cutting quietly and we made some nice small talk. Blew dry my hair completely before standing up and having a glance behind. It wasn't bad. The layers ended up being pretty choppy when I looked at it afterwards. We'll see if after a few washes it'll blend better by itself. The $20 min credit cards charge suited me just fine. I had wondered if they would charge me extra for my longer than usual hair, which would have been understandable but the total came out the same. Gave a $5 tip and was wished a Happy Thanksgiving. There are a lot more male cut reviews than female ones on here so this is just to help the next girl decide if they can do you right for your next basic haircut. read more

She blamed my wavy hair, but others have not had that problem. Also her razor had one overly-sharp prong and it jabbed me a couple times, but I didn't say anything, so she probably didn't even know. I took my cousin out for his first salon haircut here since his mom wasn't able to do his hair. Since I always passed this placed on the way to McDonald or Rite Aids, I thought I would take him there. When I entered the shop, my first impression was shabby, clean Vietnamese hair salon. We got assisted right away. The lady who cut his hair was Thao/ Thuy/Thanh I don't know. I remember that it just her name started with a T. I showed her a picture of some haircut, and she cut it the way it was. She would stop a few times to check I'm okay with her work so far. In the end I made her change the haircut completely than from the picture. She did get annoyed and showed a bit of attitude by complaining in Vietnamese... whatever. While I was waiting, one of the employees was talking on her phone on speakerphone. She was talking to her dog and making dog noises? It was strange but down right hilarious. Being Vietnamese myself, this is pretty normal for where I come from. hahaha. The haircut turned out the way I wanted. She spent twenty minutes on a man haircut (which I am assuming is a long time). Surprisingly she didn't charge me extra. Haircut was $8 + $2 tip. I would come again. The prices are cheap, staff are nice, and the haircuts are pretty decent. read more

I told her what i wanted and it was cut acceptably, she didn't ask too many questions as she went along but again I'm pretty open to my styling as long as its short and presentable. I love this place! First time here, and I was pleasantly surprised. I think Jackie cut my hair, but I don't remember her name. Still, she was extremely nice to me and paid attention to all of my requests. I asked for minimal layers, slight a-line finish while keeping my length, short bangs that framed my face, and no razor on my bangs. I'm not usually picky when it comes to details, but I do really dislike it when people cut my bangs with a razor. All of the past places I've been to have told me that razors are nothing to worry about, but I know my hair--my hair is thin and it grows weird (especially my bangs) if you razor them. It's been great getting a haircut at Neu Cut, specifically under Jackie. She's been great on getting the right cut and she'll remember what you wanted if you're a regular. Along with that, it's nice to make conversation with her since it's either a quiet awkward cut or throw a random subject and she'll reciprocate. Unfortunately I'm not local anymore so I'll definitely miss the great service. Heads up, as I remember Jackie is off on Thursdays, so keep that in mind if you want to get a cut from her. We purchased two services from here, a haircut and a pedicure. Here's the breakdown: 4.5 stars for the haircut! Can't beat the $5.99 haircut. It's a good haircut esp. if you're male. At first I was skeptical but when I watched her cut my hubby's hair, I observed that she was detailed. She would check with him as she continued to cut his hair which he loved b/c he's "protective" of his hair. The end result was the same as the $13 haircut we would get down the street from our house. 2.5 stars for the pedicure. Cleaning and removal of cuticles and dead skin was excellent. However, everything else was meh. I marked off for their limited inventory. I prefer OPI and I didn't see much of it and their color selection was very small. I also marked off for their massage chairs. They weren't very comfortable and the chair wasn't responding to what I was pressing on the remote. Lastly, I marked off for technique. The final result was uneven. After drying, there was a small clump on one toe and a visible line breaking the smooth finish. I found it after I left. However, I'm sure they would've corrected it if I found it while I was still there since they were very nice and helpful. Pros: Great prices and great customer service Cons: Place is a little shabby. There was a period where I explored barbers and cheaper options when I was 14-19yo (high school-early college) because I just had a fade. I was broke and didn't want to bother her with my HS fad haircut. I went back to a more groomed and professional look now that I have a good job and can afford a great haircut regularly (every 3 weeks). I go to her prior to special events, galas, interviews, and presentations. NO ONE made me feel as satisfied after a haircut as Lanna. Call it a bias if you want, but going to different haircut/barber places made it more apparent at how skilled, how great, and how rare of a talent Lanna is in comparison. There was one time I came in for an appointment and my mom and dad were there, then later my sister came. That was a total coincidence. She knows my school history, work history, relationship history. She listens. I've been there since the beginning and I'll continue to go to her establishment as long as she's in the business. read more

I get my hair cut here all the time. It was either done by Jackie (owner) or Helen, which both are consistently good. Now I don't remember what this other lady looked like but she did an okay job. I guess I should say it was not as good as expected but then, it was close to okay. I also got my hair cut by this Viet dude that was pretty good too. Jackie was the more talkative one, but in a friendly way. In comparison, she is more detailed and accurate in cutting men's hair than the rest of her team. Helen is the quicker, get in & out type barber. I like both, so if you want to get it done quick, go with Helen. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Jackie. read more

Got a haircut from here back in late May, so this is looong overdue :x I really didn't get the name of the person cutting my hair, but she was attentive to my hair needs and my haircut came out great! It was really cheap too, considering she chopped off at least 6 inches of hair. I loved the way my bangs came out too! I had stupidly decided to give myself blunt bangs even though I knew they don't work with my face shape. She was able to fix them and they grew out great! Horrible experience! I went for hair color and cut. Jackie, the owner selected a Matrix color for me, and got the hair color in a bowl. The other hair dresser started applying. I could smell a Strong smell of BLEACH. My skin started burning, I told her I smell bleach and my skin is burning. Both of them said, no there is no bleach. The burning got worse and I said, can I please see the hair color box, then Jackie, said, just wash off her hair. The hair dresser continued, then I put my foot down, I said I don't want a reaction. So then Jackie told her again to wash off my hair. The hair dresser took me to the sink, I could make out she was upset and was very rough and as she was washing some of the hair color splashed into my eye. I told her to stop as I need to wash my eye because it started burning. She did not listen to me and just handed me a toilet paper roll. I said, please I need to wash my eyes because the bleach has gone into my eyes, I need to wash off. Then she handed me a hand towel, very roughly and upset. After she washed off my hair, I asked to see the box, and she handed me an empty box OF A DIFFERENT COLOR than the one she applied on me. I am quite certain now that there is something very goofy going on. I came home and my mother can still smell the bleach in my hair. I know what bleach smells like. We are not stupid are we? I wanted others to know. I am not sure how else to report this. read more

Bad bad bad! Just a horrible experience. This place gives horrible hair cuts for expensive prices. For the side swept hair cut, the line is usually 1/8 of an inch in width but the barber gave me 1/2 an inch. The barber made no accommodations or tried to offer a lower price. I even had to go through criticism for my hair cut which led me to not show my hair in public until the length of the hair grew back. It became a habit for me to wear hats outside for the time being. A friend of mine also got highlights from the same place for $80!!!! It was the worst job she had gotten. After the bad experience, she found other barber shops that did better highlights for $60!!!! Please take my advice and do not go to this barber shop. If I could give a no star rating I would. read more

It was an introductory low price at $8 that drew me in, the price and quality have both been maintained and all I need to do is walk in and Jackie already knows what I want done with my hair.
