    After Japanese straightening.
    Su L.

Bryan has been cutting my family's hair for a few years now. Though he does a great job cutting hair, his specialty is hair straightening. He does not do the Brazilian keratin treatments. Bryan is an expert at Japanese straightening. It is permanent so no worrying about how long it will last! My hair is wavy frizzy and I felt made me look older than I am. Bryan made it soft straight and much younger looking. He is very particular about the products that he uses to make sure that they are safe, do not damage hair and are as natural as possible. I am super pleased with the results from my straightening treatment! If you are looking to have the Japanese hair straightening done, Bryan is an expert.

Bryan did such an amazing job again! I'm always impressed with how good quality the ingredients are that he uses for the magic straight and how good my hair feels afterwards. Bryan is definitely the person to go to for magic straight perm. Also, appreciated how he goes out of his way to make me comfortable while he is working on my hair. Can't recommend this place enough!!

The straight perm is truly "magic" here! Bryan explains everything and focuses just on you. He's not servicing another client at the same time (which is what happens at other Korean salons when you get a straight perm!), so it's much faster, AND he does an incredible job! I will be a regular for sure!

Bryan was super attentive to my very frizzy, dry, damaged hair and I have A LOT of it. He is very diligent with his attention and timing as you are the only client he focuses on during the whole appointment. I washed my hair today after 2 days w the magic straight treatment and it still looks and feels the same as the day I got it done. I am glad I came here than anywhere else as you get your money's worth. I will be coming back again, thank you Bryan!

Bryan really cares for the customer's overall hair health. He doesn't only get the job done, but he provides a full hair consultation with the client along with the service provided just because he cares. He did Japanese straight perm/magic perm/hair bonding to the roots of my hair. This process is not as harsh as the keratin process and is far more effective. He uses the best, all-natural products for clients as well. You won't be seeing the typical Pantene shampoo in this salon.

Whatever you do, don't get this treatment on bleached hair. My hair is destroyed. Brian said my hair could handle it, it just might not be as pretty. No, my hair 100% couldn't handle it. For one, it's not straight. Two, it feels worse than hay (no exaggeration). It's extremely stiff and it's so dry that it's stuck together. If I brush it, my hair just falls out. I need to have about four inches cut off but that would leave me with no hair. First time around was 100% worth it, but now that I have bleach in my hair I 100% regret the $360 I spent...

Thanks to Bryan who done my hair very accomodating explaining what chemical that he will use.the chemical that he used is branded made in japan and very harmful to human. You need an appoitment to be on this salon. Ambiance is clean and peaceful.Good job Bryan. I hope i can come back soon for my hair color. Il recomended this to my pinay friends.

I'm Korean and people ask me why I get this straight magic perm since I have straight hair. Well I do have a wave and very bad frizzy hair. Love getting this perm done cause after is done I don't have to do anything but wash air dry (when not cold) and go. Super convenient. Loved how Bryan gave me all the attention, explained about the products he was using and how to take care of my hair. He is definitely a hair doctor. Truly recommend anybody that wants maintenance free like me that doesn't have the time or the patience to deal with hair everyday.

Amazing stylist, products, and movie recommendations ;) I can't wait to go back for a touch up.

I have extremely long and thick hair so the process took a little over 4 hours for the permanent straightening and a trim. I was given a complementary hair treatment as well. Overall good experience although I was slightly unhappy about how much of my hair was trimmed off. I definitely recommend!!

I have mixed feelings and perhaps should wait to post my review. I walked in hoping to get my split ends cut and I left feeling overwhelmed and somewhat depressed with the state of my hair. I only went in with the sole goal of cutting my ends, but he proceeded to tell me about the damage, hair loss, and stress I'm under. The cut was $30 and I feel like he made it that price because he straightened my hair so much. He even showed me a picture of an African American woman with more kinky coils and how he straightened her hair. I never wanted mine straightened or BUMPED lol. I just wanted it blow dried to cut Bc that's how you cut curly hair. I'll end this saying he is a professional though the floor hadn't been swept and I arrived before 11am. He also had the knowledge, I just think this place specializes in straight hair and if you're curly it's not for you. My pictures show my normal hair curly and cut and then hair fun run with it!

I'm Asian with thick, frizzy wavy hair and lots of it. People are always surprised by just how much hair I have, especially hair stylists! I think most stylists think I'm over exaggerating when I call in to let them know my hair type, amount and length until they actually see it in person haha. So take that into consideration for the length of my treatment time. Ever since I cut my hair shoulder length with bangs, it has been like a wild animal on my head. When my hair was longer, I guess the length had been weighing some of the craziness down and cutting it caused it to poof up and be over voluminous in a bad way. I got the Magic Hair Straightening Treatment and, wow, Bryan is a Hair Magician that has tamed the beast! He really took his time working on my hair and asked questions to understand my hair/scalp condition and history. He only takes one client at a time for this process so you don't have to worry about a hairstylist who's attention is scattered between multiple clients. He's super chill and accommodating! We chatted about food, restaurants, health and his other business. Also, I was playing a game on my phone and he gave me a pillow/cushion/thing (?) to rest my hands one which made it so much more comfortable! Although it probably also helps to keep the clients' head level haha. Summer is his busiest season so make an appointment at least a few days beforehand. The whole process took about 3 hours and is very reasonably priced! Prepare yourself with some dry shampoo because you'll be advised not to wash your hair for a couple of days. Also no hair tying/pins/etc for a week afterward so make sure to take your schedule for the following week into consideration! There will also be a chemical scent for about a week or so. For someone as low maintenance (cough didn't own a blow dryer and hair brush until a few months ago cough), it's such a time and stress saver. Wash my hair and I'm out the door! No frizz control products needed and I look so much more polished than when I make an effort to look polished. Two weeks in and loving it more and more! One thing I'd do next time though is to get a setting perm as well so that the ends curl in for a more natural daily look. I didn't realize at the time of the treatment that that would require a separate perm method. This is a cozier salon that's part of the OG Buford Highway landscape. Thanks again, Bryan!

ABSOLUTELY the BEST experience I've had with the Japanese Straightener! Bryan is the REAL DEAL...he knows his products and EXACTLY what he is doing! My hair was mess and I've been getting this process done for 15 years and I've NEVER found someone so knowledgeable...until Bryan! In addition to the process, he also gives you FREE products to take home and they work AMAZINGLY! I seriously wish I could give him 6 STARS...THANK YOU Bryan!!!

I'm mortified my hair originally looked like that mess on the left. Thanks Bryan for fixing it!!

I heard from many locals that this is the place to get your hair cut done and done right. As an Asian Male, there is truly something unique about our hair. As long as you are flexible with anyone to cut your hair, then you can be seen ASAP. I always call beforehand and I always get to be seen same day within the next 2 hours. I only had two people cut my hair here, Michelle and Ken???? Ken is a new guy with dyed hair and speaks limited English. Michelle has been doing this for a while. I loved their old location but this new location definitely helps their salon shine. Lots of natural lighting and room for them to really allow an open space concept with seating throughout for others to see the magic happens. For the price of $28 before tip for a male's haircut, I think it is a fair price to ask in this economy and prime location. Hairwashing and shampoo is included for before and after the cut. Also if you want them to style your hair and prepare it for the day then that is also included with gel/wax/hair spray (your choice). Use cash if you can to avoid the 3% credit charge fee. Highly recommend this place. They will treat you well! Thank you Sen Salon for being you. Support this local one of a kind Asian business.

To be fair, I made a mistake and thought my appointment was at 9:30 when it was actually at 9:00. When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.

I was just really curious on what happens. It wound up taking ~4 hours where I got my hair washed, cut, primed, bathed in solvent, and then curled with the little rollers. I definitely felt cared for, but 4 hours is def a long time. I brought a book and phone charger in case I was bored. The salon inside, however, is extremely cold. I think it was like 62 degrees inside, and I got my perm done in the summer when it was hot (and I still felt that it was freezing). There's a bunch of stylists inside and people who help prepare the clients. For a digital perm, it was ~$200, and if you pay with cash, you can avoid the 3% credit card fee. They also do a traditional booking system where you call them and you get written down for an appointment on a paper book. Overall, I loved how my hair turned out. It was very luscious and soft, but I wish when I made the appointment, maybe there could have been guidelines of what not to do leading up to the appointment, same with post hair care especially for new timers. I wound up using a notes app of how to care for it. I wish I had more curls in my hair, but now I know for next time and how to ask for it to be styled. Great experience generally! This place is located inside of a busy plaza with lots to do, so if you're ever waiting on someone here, you can go to Teso or get boba/food/coffee -- any type of idle shopping!
