Once you enter, it already has the KBBQ vibe. The servers are so friendly and super accommodating. They suggest, recommend, and chat you up. Super cozy. As for the food, you have to try the signature dish: gobchang (intestines). For a medium, you get to choose three of four types: abomasum (stomach), tripe, large intestines, and small intestines. Additionally, you get side dishes, a choice of a stew (kimchi or fermented soybean), corn cheese, steamed egg, and salad. They cook the intestines for you before bringing it out to your table, so that it says warm as you eat. They stir fry the intestines with potatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the beef tartare, since they had posters of it around the restaurant. The beef tartare is definitely in the top 3 of the ones I've tried around OC and SD. The cuts are thicker than normal and the seasoning is just right. They don't include a lot of ingredients like other places do, but it just hits better. My friends and I have been craving intestine for a long time (since February) and we were extremely sad that Song Hak was closed, so we came to try this place out. There's surprisingly not a lot of banchan variety served with the food. Also, currently, the large combo has a hefty price of $110.99 and the amount given didn't fill up 4 girls (it does say it feeds 3-4 on the menu, but I'd say it's probably closer to 3). We ordered all beef intestine for the 3 meats we were able to select, cause that's all we wanted to eat. I will say the beef intestine was marinated exceptionally well and was actually quite flavorful. However! I would NOT order any extra meats on the side like beef tongue or jowl. The beef tongue plate itself was $55 and the jowl was $37. I was in disbelief at the small amount given for the price charged (see photos with hand size comparison). It was definitely not worth ordering these on the side. As for the service, everyone was really nice and courteous, but I don't think they checked often enough to refill banchan or water though. And the restaurant was mostly empty when we were here, so that was odd. It's like they served the food and then mostly forgot about us ha! Overall, barring the exorbitant pricing, the intestine was really good if that's what you're coming for. Aside from our group of 7, my friend's family also coincidentally dined here on the same day/time as us, and they also mentioned the high pricing here was an issue. We usually get the intestine combo and I get two servings of the large intestine and one serving of one of the others. I only like the large intestine of these assortment. We also got a regular meat combo as well and that was also quite delicious and good quality. The portions weren't huge, for the price you pay. I'm usually okay with the small combo but we got one small and one large combo and it wasn't an excessive amount of food. Dunno why, maybe we were extra hungry. The young server was also very friendly and I enjoyed how she initiated casual conversation with our group. I liked their sides and particularly enjoyed how flavorful their egg soup was. One thing that I didn't like was how a few of the small intestine pieces were gritty, My friend gave an accurate description of how it's like you're eating a clam with sand in it. I went for dinner today (11/15) with a party of six. Even though there were plenty of open tables for six, we still waited about 3 minutes to be seated. They also messed up my order, and it took a long time for our food to come out. We had two kids with us who were starving, which made the wait even more frustrating. I understand that the waitress was busy cooking for another table, but when our food finally came out, the meat was served in a dish that looked like a dog bowl. Most of the meat was just grease and fat, and we couldn't even eat it. On top of that, the attitudes from the waitress, the boss (a lady), and the boss's son were terrible. The waitress clearly didn't care, and when the boss came over she asked, "What do you want?" in a rushed, rude tone like she couldn't be bothered to deal with us. Overall, it was an awful experience.
