My mom and I were craving Korean food around the area so we stopped by this restaurant. We shared their galbijjim and the portion size was enormous for the two of us. There was so much meat in this dish we had leftovers for the following nights. It comes with meat, chewy glass noodles, rice cake, potato, sweet potato, carrot, and pumpkin! The banchan was also really good we had to ask for extra. Everything here tasted super delicious and authentic! I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem.

I've been here many times and kept forgetting to take a picture! I finally got to have some alone time and enjoy some comfort food. I was watching one of my all time favorite kdrama called 식샤를합시다 (Let's Eat) and was inspired by the character's posts. Here's a finished plate of their 도가니탕 (Dogani Tang)! It's a traditional Korean soup made from slow-cooked beef knee bones (knuckles and cartilage), resulting in a rich, milky-white, collagen-filled broth with tender, gelatinous meat! So yummy! I love the staff that works here. They're always so welcoming with a family friendly feel and are quick to ask if you want more side dishes too! I will add more to the review as I come back for more of their food!!

My friend and I went to try General Hwangs after hearing so much hype about this from our friends and through viral videos on IG. As Asians, we both agree it's worth the hype. We ordered Galbitang, Tofu soup and Galbi on the side. Tofu soup was more flavorful than BCD's which was honestly surprising and the Galbitang was the highlight for me- very light but at the same time SUCH flavorful rich broth. The service was spectacular and easy parking/quick seating. I'd come back!

Ambiance: it's a new comfort Korean food restaurant located in South Bay Area, and it replaced the previous Brazilian bbq place, there's large parking lot in the rear of the establishment, the restaurant entrance looks narrow, but after walking in, it's spacious and divided into two sections, one for smaller groups and further inside for large groups Service: attentively served water and helped to cook the food on the table Food: comfort food menu for soups, noodles, and stews Banchan - *** limited kinds, but the dried fish and squid one tasted great Braised Beef Back Rib - **** beef stew topped with green onion slices, served with rice cake, yam, pumpkin, glass noodles, carrots, chestnut, jujubes, generally sweet taste, chewy and tasty rib meat, recommend Price: moderate portions and reasonable prices, expect $30~$35 per person for a fulfilling meal

This is the newest spot for delicious, authentic Korean food in Gardena! They offer a variety of traditional Korean dishes that you wouldn't typically find in surrounding Korean restaurants in the South Bay like their traditional boyangtang (goat stew) and Sunji Haejang Guk (ox blood hangover soup). The owner/chef came out to give recommendations and she was super friendly and helpful. She was so sweet to bring out a seafood pancake made with sea bass for us to try and it was so good! We ordered the Galbitang and dongtaetang (spicy pollack soup) and the portion was huge with plenty of banchans, including some I had never tried before. Pricing was pretty reasonable at about $20-$21 for each of the soups we ordered. The galbi was tender and the pollack stew came with a generous amount of fish meat and included pollack roe which I enjoyed a lot. Overall I really enjoyed this new spot and would highly recommend trying it out! They also open at 7am with breakfast specials Monday-Friday if you're into comforting soups in the mornings. I saw several ajummas and ajussis so you know it's a local authentic spot. It's tucked away in the back of a small plaza to the right of Torrance Bakery and there is adequate parking in the lot.

I am so thrilled that the South Bay has this restaurant. So many great restaurants serving good nengmyun have come and gone, and so I had high hopes for the nengmyun here. It was excellent. They make noodles for each bowl of nengmyun fresh from the noodle press in the back, and they are able to achieve that super professional, chewy, super thin noodle texture that you cant get from the supermarket. It was seriously high quality and I am so pleased to write a glowing review for this place. Banchan was plentiful and generous, bulgogi was tender, galbitang was full flavored, the 매운탕 had large pieces of buttery fish... we had a pretty large party there this afternoon, and the service was top notch as well. Such kind and attentive staff, which made the experience and ambiance just that much better. Great meal, great service. Will be back! See photo of empty plates.

General Hwang is great for both lunch and dinner. The service is friendly, the ambiance is elegant and well lit with very nice design. The banchan here is top notch. I loved the egg soufflé, their kimchi is spicy and fresh, jelly is fresh, I mean everything delicious. We got the nourishing stew, it had a nice portion of meat and a lot of tendons. The meat was very tender and delicious. Their broth has more depth than other spots. This is my favorite Korean restaurant I have found. Add some salt to your soup and enjoy. Lunch time has an excellent take away deal, around 14 dollars with tax for bulgogi with rice and kimchi. A generous portion of tender , not overly sauced or sweet bulgogi. The pork , beef, and chicken bulgogi are amazing. Come eat here!

Was craving some Korean food and decided to try a new place out! The restaurant is really tucked in this plaza so need to really follow your gps. The restaurant itself had lots of tables and was pretty spacious! We ordered their spicy naengmyuen and spicy pork combo and steamed dumplings. Came with a good selection of side dishes. The foods were okay, a bit on the sweeter side but wasn't too bad. Service was a bit chaotic because they only had one server but I'm sure that'll get better once they get a system in place

So good! Wanted to try some cold noodles because of the heat, my mom ordered the spicy mixed cold noodles which were perfect! Just enough spicy, not overly sweet. Make sure you cut your noodles with the scissors, because they are hard to chew like any other cold noodle place. I also ordered the bulgogi wrap, everything was so fresh and the seasoned doenjang was so good, I couldn't stop eating the veggies! Super healthy and made me feel so good about myself. Place is super nice, clean, and you can tell they just opened up. Service is quick too. Definitely would come back again!!

It was a busy day for Mul Naeng-Myeon but they conveniently had a couple tables for us. They can get busy, and there was a line forming as we were eating, so it is understandable if the service can seem a little pushy at times, and this comes out in very subtle ways (i.e. There's no AC, only a small fan. If they want you to leave, they'll position the fan away from you). Cold water is also only available upon request, as well as extra napkins. Otherwise, you'll be wiping your mouth with a one-ply napkin the whole time. The banchan was great. I especially loved the onions and perilla leaves. The kimchi tasted fresh and tangy, but the radishes were a bit too sweet and cut very clunky. The Naeng-Myeon was good; it tasted very heavily of sesame, and not much else. The meat was also pretty tough to chew. Very filling, but expensive for the amount of meat you get. Definitely made use of the vinegar and mustard, which they eventually took away to give to another table. I'm thinking I just ordered the wrong thing and came on the wrong day. I saw what other people ordered, and it looked delicious, always served with enthusiasm. Next time, I'll have what they're having.

The inside is nice and spacious, a little dimly lit and clean. The worker was very friendly and service was quick. We asked for his recommendation and he suggested we try any of the yukgaejang. He brought out two sets of banchan - fish cakes which were firmer and more seasoned with sesame oil than some other place which was pleasant, a nice sweet fresh kimchi, and some chive kimchi, as well as the condiments for our dishes. To split, we got the small bossam, the rice cake and dumpling soup, the mul naengmyeon, and the yukgaejang with fresh pasta. Everything was super flavorful, large enough to split between the 5 of us, and delicious. The standouts are definitely the yukgaejang - the fresh pasta may sound weird but is a nice chewy thick noodle and the broth is rich and flavorful with just a bit of spice - and the bossam - at a lot of places the small bossam is still huge, and this was a good size so that we still had room for other dishes, and the meat itself was more flavorful, tender and nice and warm on the steamer that it came out on! The rice cake and dumpling soup and the mul naengmyeon were also solid. I'll definitely be back at Yuk Dae Jang for a warm comforting bowl of yukgaejang and bossam with friends :) Bonus, you don't have to go to ktown!

I wasn't causing a disturbance or asking for anything unreasonable. The way I was spoken to and treated made me feel embarrassed, unwelcome, and honestly as though I was being judged before I was even given a chance to order. I left feeling humiliated. Customer service is about treating people with basic kindness and respect, and unfortunately, that was completely missing during my visit. It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.
