Stumbled upon this place because we originally was going to Gyu-kaku but there was a 2 hour wait. So we opted to try this place. Restaurant was not busy when we came. Simple looking restaurant with not too many tables. The staff was very nice and got our orders very quickly. I got the Dolsot beef bibimbap and my bf got the spicy pork lunch box. He seemed to have enjoyed his meal. I typically don't eat bibimbap, but the hot stone added an extra spunk to the meal. Food stayed nice and warm throughout my meal. And it gave the rice a bit of crispy texture. I appreciated that the server gave me a non spicy and spicy sauce in order to eat the bibimbap to my liking. She even gave us extra napkins without us asking when she saw we may have needed some. I would like to come here again to try some of their other dishes as well. read more

I tried a new Korean restaurant today and the food was delicious and affordable! The owners served us with welcoming smiles and prompt service throughout our meal. We enjoyed the ddukbokki, Spicy seafood noodles (jjampong), and pork belly with chives. Everything was a hit. The restaurant is located in the shopping plaza near Home Depot in the southeast corner of the plaza. Will definitely come back to try the numerous dishes in their menu! read more

Just left extremely full and happy! Love a good mom and pop Korean spot that reminds me of home cooking. We ordered the medium bossam and kimchi fried ride to share. The bossam was so good! My usual spots are in Ktown, but it's nice to have an option in South Bay. Paired with banchan and kimchi fried rice, it ended up being just a bit too much food for us and we left with leftovers which is never a bad thing. It's opened up by the same owner as 88Pocha in Gardena, so if you've been, you already know the food is amazing. They have similar menu items such as the Steamed Pork Belly w Chives, which is my favorite dish. The service was great as well! Our waitress was very friendly and hospitable. We were also able to say hi to the owner, which was nice. Inside, it's very bright and casual looking giving a comfortable vibe while eating. This place serves absolutely wonderful Korean eats! Our family came in hoping to try a new Korean spot, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the owner is the same talented chef behind another restaurant we've always loved. It was no surprise that the food here was just as incredible. Everything tasted authentically Korean, comforting, and truly reminded us of home-cooked meals. We enjoyed an amazing dinner together -- the standout was the kimchi fried rice served in a stone pot, loaded with delicious melted cheese. The soy-ginger fried chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, the Korean noodles were some of the best we've ever had, and the pork belly fried rice was simply outstanding. We finished with mochi for dessert, even though we were already completely stuffed because everything was so good. The owners are extremely kind, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the entire experience was a genuine 10 out of 10. We will absolutely be returning many, many times in the future. I really loved this Mom and Pop shop and both were so attentive to our needs, whether that was getting us more samjang or kimchi and even packing our leftovers for us! I visited KITCHEN SODAM for lunch since it recently opened near my workplace, and I was thoroughly impressed! The restaurant itself is exceptionally clean and bright, and every dish looked incredibly appetizing. I ordered the Fried Squid (Ojing-eo Twigim), and it was a true standout. It tasted as if it was fried in perfectly clean oil, resulting in a phenomenal flavor and a wonderfully crisp texture. The food had such a noticeable depth of flavor and quality that I was compelled to ask if the owners had operated a restaurant before. I was delighted to learn that the chef/owners previously ran 88 Pocha in Gardena, and decided to move here for better hours! My family and I were frequent, happy customers at 88 Pocha--we loved the owners and the delicious food there--so having them open a new place so close is a huge bonus! As a side note, I'm happy to say that the ownership transition at the old 88 Pocha location must have gone very smoothly. We've been back a few times and honestly hadn't realized the owners changed! The food there is still delicious, and the new KITCHEN SODAM is equally amazing. It's wonderful to have two great options now! The food is truly fantastic. New Korean place that opened up in the same plaza as Home Depot right next to Gyugaku. Small place with about 6-7 tables but could fit a large party of 8-10 if you probably reserve in advance. Really good Korean food that seems family run with awesome service. Only thing to be ware is that they only give u 3 small banchan and the kimchi was super sour, but I guess some people like it like that. read more

Before and after... By far the best pork belly I've ever had in my life. The way the vegetables, sauce and melt in your mouth pork belly combine together it was like a symphony in my freaking mouth. We stumbled across this new restaurant after shopping and had such a great meal with literally the best service ever. Our group ordered the fish cake soup, a pork katsu bento box, and the kim chi fried rice with cheese. All of the food came out quickly and everything was very good. I would recommend every dish and there were so many other things on the menu that I'd like to come back to try. But the best part was the service. The couple running this place were super attentive and brought us so much stuff without us asking for it--extra banchan (side dishes), water refills, extra plates/napkins, and the man even gave us some insoles for our shoes (so random, but cool). We even got a small plate of japchae noodles for free because she wanted us to try it. Honestly, it felt like eating at a Korean grandma's house... we just felt very comfortable and loved. The mixed tempura is just like what you would get from a place back home in Korea. The cheese tteokbokki was mild in flavor, so if you're looking for a spicy one, this place isn't going to satisfy your spice craving. For my kiddos though, it was perfect. The service was very good and they were just starting to decorate for Christmas so it was already pretty festive with holiday music and decor. We will definitely be back. read more
