It is a CRIME that more people aren't coming here. The food is absolutely amazing. Had the Ful Medames and it was jaw droppingly good. Will definitely be coming back more often. There is construction happening at the time of this post, so don't be alarmed when you hear loud noises, it also doesn't have any music. This place used to be great. I even brought extended family here. Today the food was barely edible. I ordered the chicken shawarma and fries. The fries were old and disgusting. No flavor and not edible. The shawarma had no flavor. The chicken was cooked well but I felt like I was only eating grilled chicken with no taste. The only thing that had flavor were the pickles. I was starving so I forced myself to eat half of it and threw the rest away. For being over $12 for a sandwich, I expected better food. The guy that greeted me was nice and another server smiled at me. But unfortunately it doesn't make up for the food experience. If you go here, dont get the chicken shawarma. I hate leaving negative reviews for small restaurants like this, especially ones I used to love. See my previous review. It has changed owners since. I wanted stuffed grape leaves for lunch and found this place close by. I ended up having the stuffed grape leaves and a lamb kabob sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the meal came with dolmas as a side! The food was amazing. The grape leaves were nice and tender. The lamb was grilled to perfection and presented beautifully. It was the rice that stole my heart. It was as soft as a pillow! Not sticky with just enough chew to it so you knew you were eating rice. It was BAD. I was visiting the Dallas area and wanted Greek food. I found that most of the Greek restaurants were closed on Sundays except for this one. I'll make it quick. The place looked old, dirty and rundown. The Greek salad was gross and came with ranch dressing, no red onion and wilted lettuce. The gyro meat looked and tasted store bought. The hummus was ok but came with ice cold pita bread. This place had so many warning signs but I gave them my money anyway. This is no one's fault but my own. Also, there were 2 servers who I assumed were mother and daughter. The daughter was crying and fussing in a different language and I needed the server at times but she was too caught up in whatever her daughter had going on. I wish I could get a refund. read more

We stopped here since it was open past 10PM. The place is not aesthetically pleasing just FYI there is only one bathroom, it had a leak so the floor was very wet. The prices on the menu are very outdated for example the gyro is now $20. The prices were a bit high for the portions they serve. I love finding little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this is a good one! The inside decor is clean and well-kept. The menu is small, not overwhelming. We split the platter between 4 of us and we all loved it. The platter gives a nice variety of dishes to try. The platter comes with 3 appetizers, and we chose hummus, baba ganoush, and falafel. The falafel was some of the best I've ever had! Everything was deliciously seasoned and good. The food lacked flavors and I mean basic salt in every dish that was served. We had to add salt to everything. They served bottled water without informing us that they charge for it which we found at the time of payment when we saw a charge of $6.76 for 4 small Sams club brand water bottles. They also charged us 3.99% customer service fee for a party of 4. I have never seen any Mediterranean place which does that. The fries that came with the wraps tasted bitter as if the oil in which they were fried was not changed for weeks. I would not visit this place again. read more

Ayman, the owner, was so accommodating - splitting dishes, bringing us cream for coffee, letting us ask a lot of questions, turning down the background music for us to converse, etc. They're open 11-11 every day and even have a happy hour! Weird experience today. My husband and I went into Hala today to get some lunch. There was only one other person in there and evidently she had ordered but not gotten her food. We ordered one gyro, a sampler platter of appetizers and one lamb kabob. Another customer came in and was seated and she ordered. We waited on our food. Then another customer came in and he was seated and ordered. We still waited on our food. Then the lady who was there when we got there got her food. Next the lady who came in after us got her food. Finally, we got the appetizer platter and the gyro but no lamb kabob. Then the guy who came in after us got his food. Still no kabob. We asked about the lamb kabob and they said it would just be another minute. Two guys came in, sat in the back booth and had their food brought to them within 10 minutes, still no kabob. My husband went to find our server who evidently was in the same place as the lamb kabob as neither one could be found. Finally after we had finished most of our meals, here came the lamb kabob. It was good but after 30 minutes of tending to it, the kabob should have been amazing. Not sure what was going on today. We hadn't been there since 2019 when service was great and the food was quick to be brought out. Guess times they are a changing. read more

Good hole in the wall Mediterranean spot. If you are in the area, they are definitely worth checking out. The menu is no different than most Mediterranean restaurants, so if you frequent at other Mediterranean restaurants, there is a strong likelihood there is something for you. I opted for the Mixed Grill, which had kofta, lamb, and chicken. Portion sizes were a bit underwhelming, but I am a bigger guy so I can't really complain haha. I had gotten falafel and hummus. The hummus was delicious- very smooth, and light- something hard to find in a lot of Mediterranean places. The falafel was good, but maybe had a bit too much coriander, is it was a little bit more on the bitter side. Called in for pick up on my way from the airport to my hotel, the gentleman that answered the phone gave good recommendations! I tried the Hala platter with a variety of meats which came with rice and salad. I also was offered a side of Dolma (grape leaves). They were cute and tasty! I wish I took pictures of the food, but man oh man everything was soooo good. We split the sampler platter and basbousa, and I got an Arabic coffee. First, the falafel was, I think, the best I've ever had. The olive oil on the hummus had a very rich flavor. And the babaganoush was very flavorful, with a smooth texture. The basbousa and coffee pairing was excellent. The syrup the basbousa is soaked in is very sweet and the coffee is creamy and bitter, and they balance each other very well. Man, this place serves food in abundance! The sampler appetizer platter is in itself a meal for two and I am not kidding. It's massive! Comes with hummus, babaganoush, fattoush, stuffed grape leaves, falafel and 4 thick pitas that are perfect for dipping. Our entrée, the falafel platter came with rice, a piece of pita and choice of two sides. They served hearty portions of the sides as well. Fattoush was excellent. So was the rice, very flavorful. I love a nice warm bowl of red lentil soup and theirs did not disappoint. However the falafels and foul moudames were wayyy too salty. Our appetizers arrived after a reasonable amount of time, the sides from our main course also arrived with the appetizers but our entree took forever and they weren't even very busy that day. If not for the impressive amount of food on our table, this would have been a three star review. read more
