    Menu Page 1

I tried this restaurant late Saturday afternoon. There were not many customers when I was there although several people did come in to pick up food. There is a fairly extensive buffet or you can order off of the menu. You can see from the pictures of the menu that the buffet has slightly different offerings every day. Although I didn't eat from the buffet, I did look at it, and it included soup, several meat options, several side options, plus pita bread and what looked to be rice pudding for dessert. It was extremely clean And the food looked fresh. I ordered one of the "make your own" bowls. I opted for yellow rice and chicken kebabs, with tabouli, hummus, and cabbage slaw. Ratings: Chicken kebab -5 Rice - 4 Hummus - 3 (no pita bread) Tabouli - 1 Cabbage slaw - 3 Presentation/Serving size - 4 Overall, I would give the meal a four. The chicken was excellent and it had several large pieces of white meat chicken. It was well seasoned and well cooked with a slight char on the edges. The rice was really flavorful and the hummus was good, but the bowls don't come with any kind of pita bread to use for dipping and I don't care for hummus just plain. The cabbage slaw was OK, but it had quite a bit of mayonnaise in it which I, personally, am not a fan of. I'm not sure what was going on with the tabouli, but it was dry parsley with a few onions and tomatoes. There was no olive oil and no lemon juice. The tabouli that was on the buffet looked normal but what came in my bowl had basically no dressing on it. I assume that was just an oversight, but it was very odd. The overall value for money was good. The bowls are only $10 and I got a very large amount of food. My only complaint about the presentation is that they put the hummus, tabouli, and slaw on top of the rice. I really don't care for my food all mixed together so I would prefer that it be put into the bowl beside the rice like it is at those to go Halal places or, on a separate dish. Normally, I would ask for pita bread on the side, but I could see from looking at the buffet that the pita bread is not homemade and not warm so I didn't bother. The ambience and decor were very nice with a good number of tables and comfortable chairs.

The photo does not due justice to how raw it was

We stopped by on a Sunday on July 5. It was packed even at 2:30 pm but that is a good thing because food was moving. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a better looking on the inside than it was on the outside. It had a cafeteria feel and several customers have complained about the worn seats and tables. It was fine by us since we knew this was not fine dining, They had plenty of hot items and the temperatures were pretty hot for the hot item preventing germ spread. I did not dare to try the cold items such as the sushi, sashimi, and raw oysters. Other customers have fared fine. The food was tasty but it also a place of gluttony. The one off putting thing was that when I went to bathroom, someone had thrown up in the sink. I pushed on because this was not the restaurant's fault. Some folks complain that they charge for toddlers. I did not mind because their prices were so low, I was wondering how they were making a profit. I returned to the bathroom later, and this time, someone had thrown up on the floor. The staff was cleaning all of this mess rather quickly. This is place of gluttony as customers stuffed their faces. Chances are that they had been in the sun and drank a little too much alcohol before they came. It was interesting experience since most of the customers seemed to be Mexican and African Immigrants. I liked the vibe of the place even though I was a little cautious at first. Go check it out of you have an open mind and aren't grossed out easily. I am not sure if I will return, but I am glad I at least tried this place out.

As a former fan of "all you can eat" buffets, I noticed as I've gotten older, I'm no longer a fan of "all ya can eat", but hangin' out with da fellas is fun. What can I say about Japan House? 1. The restaurant had an extensive sushi menu for all you can eat. 2. Exceptional service! Our waitress was very attentive, she kept checking up on us and placed our food orders quickly. After placing the food order, the food came out quickly. 3. This restaurant was one of the first restaurants that used an electronic robot. The robot machine brought out the simple items, and I even saw the robot sing "Happy Birthday" to a restaurant patron. 4. The restaurant is casual, and pretty dark inside. 5. The sushi quality is about "middle of the road", not the best, but far from bad. What do you expect for all you can eat? Check out my pics..... And if ya gotta ask, YES......all that food pics I took, I actually ate all that food. I swear when I got back to the hotel, I was in total kanak attack (Hawaiian Paralysis). Lol!

I'm glad I went; they are an all-you-can-eat restaurant. When you arrive, you're greeted by the host, then seated, and they explain the menu and prices, which are actually quite reasonable. They are open from 11:00 to 14:30 for lunch, then reopen at 16:30 to close. The place looks amazing, decorated in authentic Japanese style. Huy, my server, was just fantastic. He explained how everything works and had this great energy about him. He even helped with some recommendations: the Ocean, 911 roll, and the Hot Night roll--all of which are amazing, so I recommend trying those. Also, if you go, ask for Huy. I'll definitely be back to try more because, you know, you can only eat so much, LOL!!!

I saw a guest put their bare hands in the pita basket, pick a pita and then put it back in the basket with others. The buffet area is not commonly cleaned with food bits everywhere. Some customers were touching things and cross contaminating the main dishes. I know it's not the same with the Plano location so I hope manager of this location pays attention to their patrons and ensure basic hygiene standards are followed. I was overwhelming grossed out from it and don't think will ever be back to this location. Ambiance is loud as well with kids screaming and running all around the restaurant, so overall it's a pass for me.
