Very decent quiet place to try out Mideastern cuisine. My favorite is the lamb shank, this is the best lamb I ever tried so far. I also liked grilled salmon. The portions are large and I either got to leave filled upon or with a box. The place is clean, your order may take time but I believe that's what it takes to serve you a great dinner. I live in the same building and the owner is a very nice man. The only disappointing thing is that the prices went up since I first dined there. If I'm not mistaken I paid $12 for the lamb shank in the August of 2013 and I thought that was ridiculously cheap. Now it's $17 and seems more adjusted. Lots of free parking along the street. Ordered a chicken kabab platter, beef kabab platter, falafels, and side of pickles for pickup. Everything was ready when I arrived and still hot when I got home! Meat was tender and flavorful. We ordered lock down delivery today, and I must say the food was really good. The delivery was prompt and the meal well packed. I had the chicken thighs with humus and a side of stuffed grape leaves. The hubby had a lunch special that consisted of a combo of beef shawarma and chicken kebobs. It came with rice and a side salad. Everything was really good. I loved the grilled red peppers that came with my entree. The only negative I had was that the stuffed grape leaves were not as flavorful as others I have had. We've never eaten at the restaurant but order delivery all the time. Their hummus is delicious and we really enjoy the chicken shawarma and beef kebabs. My only complaint is there's not much meat for the kebabs but the shawarma has lots of meat. read more

This place use to be a local favorite but I'm done giving my business to a restaurant that does not appropriate their customers. The man at the register is always so rude! I recently placed an order for pick up so when I got there I asked him what I thought was a normal question - Is the extra tahini sauce in the bag? He replies back "have a nice day". I asked him a 2nd time and again he replies back "have a nice day". I asked him a 3rd time and once again he replies back "have a nice day" with a look as if I'm an idiot. Apparently, it's too hard for him to say "Yes". In the end, I barely got any sauce for two meals and the cook must have changed because the food is not as good as it use to be. Worst food ever. Will never order from here again. Chicken Shawarma wrap mediocre at best. Falafel wrap was I think the worst I've ever had. Trader Joe's frozen falafel is far superior. Have been coming to this place for years since it opened and I will no longer be returning. I met my friend for a late lunch today and we ordered two salads, a vegetarian lunch plate and two lentil soups. The waitress gave very poor service then had the nerve to tack on an 18% "service fee". When we questioned her about it she said it's automatically added on the register. I guess we looked like idiots or something. I asked one of the owners if this was a new policy and he said no and removed it apologetically. I could understand if this new policy was stated somewhere on the menu but it wasn't and the waitress was clearly a liar who likes to provide crappy service and get a large tip for it. I always tip 18-20% so this was a slap in the face. Small businesses should be trying to retain business not lure it away. It's a shame I won't be going back there because I enjoy their food. read more

Their food is the best! The hummus was really tasty and the pita bread tasted fresh. The entree was delicious. If you not sure what to order, I would recommend the 4 combination since it gives you a little of everything. The place is clean and welcoming and so as the lady who took care of us! We went here for lunch today and ended up taking out dinner too. The falafels were the best I have ever had. The babaganouj was absolutely amazing, with a little bite and the perfect texture. We had the combo plate and the shawarma combo and both were fantastic as well. The rice was so great too! We will be back every single time we come to Chicago. And the lady working the counter and dining room was just the nicest person. She gave us complimentary baklava and it was delicious, so flaky and perfectly sweet. An absolute must stop!! read more

I've been here a couple of times, their service is always fast & friendly plus the food's good. Their falafel is tastee and all the extra herbs they use give them a beautiful green color on the inside (definitely not store bought mix). The last time I had the lamb chops and they were good. This recent time I tried their salmon plate and their flavors just weren't what I was hoping for. Although I'll be back, I'll stick with the shawarma and the lamb chops. read more

We have ordered here countless times. The side salad is always very fresh and green and food is always delivered hot! Today is our first time dining in and I'm glad we called. Ordered to go for the first time here and it was amazing! Had a combo plate with chicken, lamb and kifta. Couldn't decide which is my favorite as they were all delicious. This is our local go-to spot for Middle Eastern food. I can definitely recommend their falafel, chicken schwarma, steak kababs, hummus, and Jerusalem salad. The drapery inside really looks nice. \ Outstanding in every way! The prices are great for the large portion size. My wife (who is a bit of a hummus snob) fell in deep deep love with their smooth creamy version. The owner is truly genuine, and so very nice. He sat and chatted with me while waiting for an order. I feel like I made a friend. The falafel comes with pickles on it, something I never tried before - results are awesome. I never tried baba ghanoug before but wow is it good. I have to say, living in this neighborhood you have plenty of options for Mediterranean. But being the good local home owner I wanted to support my local economy. But it is disappointing to order from a place, feel like you're being overcharged and realizing that you are. The lamb kabob entree consisted of 6 pieces of lamb and a tray full of rice all for $15. Yes! I have found falafel that I love on the northwest side! We were driving home down Lawrence, looking for a restaurant because we were starving. Saw this place and pulled over. Now it's turning into a go to for us. You gotta get the falafel. This is one of the best falafels out there, really. I could run in for just a falafel sandwich and be a happy girl. The hummus is also really good. I saw a complaint that you only get one pita with it but that was certainly not the case for us, we had plenty of bread leftover when we've ordered both sizes. I had a kefta sandwich last time and I wasn't the biggest fan, not my favorite kefta ever. I'm going to stick with the falafel. I started using the restaurant for work catering when EZCater substituted this restaurant for another that I had chosen, but was unable to accommodate my time frame. I am so grateful that the substitution was made, as I have since ordered just about all of my catering orders from this restaurant since that day. I met the owner, who mentioned to me that he treats his kitchen the way hospitals treat "Operating Rooms" in terms of sterility. I have been very particular during COVID, and have ordered more from this restaurant than any other restaurant for work and personal needs. The falafel is his grandmother's recipe, and is an absolute must try. I am not sure how they keep it can be so fresh, delicious and crunchy during delivery. The hummus is probably the best in Chicago. The food is quite delicious, and everyone at the restaurant down to the drivers are professional and wonderful. I've generally found the food good for a reasonable price but one guy is just an aggressive dick. He made ordering very difficult with a lot of questions about sandwich or plate or pita or wrap. I had ordered a few times before and it was never that complicated. I'm there for a quick pick-up and he wouldn't even acknowledge me or say "just a moment." Just really seemed to resent that I was in the place. The falafel platter is a grease-stained sack of falafel balls with a watery tahini/cucumber styrofoam side. It sucks; I don't see why you put something so ridiculous on the menu. This place was truly a place I stumbled onto. I was driving down the street after getting a car wash and then was suddenly hungry for Mediterranean food and I drove past this place. I was damn luck. The employees were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was pristine and comfy, exactly what I'd expect (or want) from a local eatery. On to the food: it was beyond excellent. I ordered a shawarma lunch special and it was beyond delicious. Having lived briefly in a region where this food comes from I can definitely say the food is comparable. If you want some great food then this is the place for you. AND it was super affordable. Parking might be a little trick as it is a local neighborhood eatery but I didn't have any problems finding a parking spot. read more

So this place USE to be great but as of late, I believed they fired their old cook because the food has taken a nose dive. I ordered the Chicken Swarma, and it's supposed to be shredded and nicely spiced, this a jacked up chucks of dried out chicken.
