    Chipotle Kheema Taco
    Devin C.

Flavorful tacos and the Chipotle Kheema were divine, but they were tiny and overpriced. This restaurant has potential, but it was not worth $23 for four small tacos. The birria sauce was also skimpy. Also, picking up the order was a bit of a headache. I ordered online and got an email saying the order was ready, but there were no pick-up instructions. When I arrived, I wasted about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get my food and had to alert them through the tablet, which was harder than it sounds. I'm still not sure how to do it properly.

Stopped in due to the Keith Lee Effect while I was in town. 5 stars all the way. This is a takeout spot located in Taste of Towerwood. So there is not seating, but you can place your order for pick up and they also order delivery. With the recent attention try to be patient, I placed online, and went to pick up. There was a tablet saying to scan your order from your phone, but it did not work. People were also having issues with placing orders-this is set up by TOT for all of the restaurants. Finally I saw a doorbell and rang that and someone came to help. I ordered the Nihari Birria tacos. It came with a side of the sauce as well. The meat was delicious, and the sauce was not too spicy, but I didn't need a lot. I'm not a spice person and it was the right amount of kick! They also have quesadillas and bowls.

After seeing Keith Lee review this place I was super excited to try it. However, I think the fact that this place is a ghost kitchen and you can't eat the food fresh holds them back. We placed our order for pickup at 8pm and it was ready around 8:15. I will say the nihari beef was nice and soft and the chili chicken was packed with flavor. The keema quesadilla was good but I thought it was a bit oily. The birria tacos were definitely my favorite - the naan 'taco shell' was 10/10. For the platters. the meat to rice ratio was off, I think they definitely could've given more meat. Overall I think the fusion idea is cool and if you want something different then its a great option!

outstanding service and outstanding unique foos!! 10/10 would reccomend !! esp the quesadilla and chicken tacos delishhh

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: @keith_lee125 was here but it's actually a local favorite too! They are known for their Mexican-Pakistani fusion food! THE VIBE: in a to-go kitchen concept where you order your food online or at a kiosk and pick it up in their cubbies! PRICE: gifted WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! **** Overall Rating: 9.5/10 - I'm really loving all of these fusion places if you couldn't tell and @halalfusionz definitely offers that Pakistani x Tex Mex fusion we've been missing! - They also gave me their 3 sauces: mint verde sauce, tandoori ranch sauce, and cucumber cool down sauce which definitely elevated the tacos. - I can't really pick a favorite with the tacos because I genuinely loved them all. The chicken was a bit dry but paired with the sauces- it came out PERFECT. The birria taco was out of this world! It isn't your typical birria consume and it's a thicker sauce to dip in but it is so mouthwatering. The paneer taco is a classic. - The tortilla is actually not a tortilla and is naan which is a traditional bread in Desi dishes. It made each bite soft and decadent. - The paneer Elote was so good! My bf usually doesn't like Elote but he was a huge fan of this. The rice was filled with so much flavor I wasn't sure if it was Spanish rice or biriyani? - Only thing I wasn't a fan of was their drinks! I do have a record of not liking sweet drinks but it is a sweet drink if you are interested. - They've extended their hours until midnight for my besties who are celebrating Ramadan, this is the perfect place to grab a bite! - Overall, this place isn't overhyped, it's actually really good and I'll be back!

Tacos are good. But it's a hell lot of wait time. Waited for 1 hour. But still there is no crowd. Then why the heel they made is wait?

Even though the playground is usually his favorite spot, he didn't hesitate & insisted we go to Kafi for the brisket. That pretty much sums up how my family feels about this place. We've tried plenty of BBQ spots around Texas, but Kafi keeps bringing us back. The brisket is consistently excellent, and you can tell they use the highest-quality ingredients because the flavor really speaks for itself. Everything on the menu is done well, from the Wagyu and sausage to the burnt ends. It's become one of those rare places that the whole family gets excited about, and that's not something I can say about many restaurants

I follow the chef/owner on Instagram (@kafibbq), and the amount of effort and detail he puts into his craft has resulted in multiple return visits for me. This review is for my latest visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.

We ate pretty early around 5pm, and it was very empty, which was nice because it meant our food came fast. We tried the chicken shawarma bowl and the beef shawarma bowls. The food tasted delicious, but did seem a little less fresh, like maybe it had been sitting for a while, which would make sense because it wasn't exactly prime dinner hour yet, so maybe perhaps left from lunch? Either way, the portions were great, enough to take home leftovers. And the flavor of the meat was superb. They were so warm and kind to our family, especially our two year old. I appreciated the thoughtful touches the staff added to make our dining experience special. It definitely gave the cozy feeling of a mom and pop diner but mediterranean style! I loved it. We will definitely be coming back.

I came in for the soft opening after weeks of renovations, and while the name and menu are the same, everything else is not. This is not the same restaurant. If you knew the original owner, you would know he created something special. It felt like you were being welcomed into his home. He took pride in the food and in making sure every customer felt well cared for. Appetizers always came out first with some friendly conversation, and you could feel the care he put into every detail. That experience is gone. First, I waited 30+ minutes for a dish that normally takes 15, even on a busy night. When I left, a couple who had ordered before me were still waiting for their wraps! Second, the food has changed. The chicken shawarma and gyro recipes are different, and the gyro was actually cold. The sauces, which used to be the highlight, are not the same. The red sauce is gone, and the garlic sauce tastes different. The rice is different. The salad is now a small pile of romaine, onion, cucumber, black olives, and corn with no dressing. Overall, the new recipes feel like a massive downgrade from the original recipes. Lastly, I told the host I would be dining inside, but my food was served in plastic containers. Meanwhile, a nearby group that appeared to be staff or family was served plated food that looked noticeably fresher and better prepared. It honestly felt like their food was prioritized over paying customers, which may have explained the delays. The menu photos have not changed, but they no longer reflect what is actually being served. That feels misleading, especially for customers like me who were excited for the reopening. Very disappointing.

The restaurant has vibrant decor and murals that transport you to a diverse neighborhood. Every employee who helped us was approachable and kind, checking on us after we were seated and served, going as far as taking photos for us when we asked because we were celebrating our anniversary, and bringing out things we asked for once we were seated. It seems basic to say that, but the warmth and kindness was felt from each employee we interacted with, and I don't want to gloss over their good service. Our order: - Angry Pho Birria Platter - Elote + Chips - Strawberry Lemonade - Ube Horchata The pho (a little spicy) and bao (a little sweet with super tender meat) will make you want to do a happy dance. The wings could have been a little crunchier but they were sauced so it's understandable. The Bang Bang and Spicy Chili flavors were delicious. The Birria tacos were good, but we loved everything else on the platter more. The Elote + chips starter was authentic and yummy. The chips felt like an odd pairing, but it tasted good together! The Strawberry Lemonade was sweet but refreshing. The Ube Horchata was creamy and delicious. Not too sweet, and the ice didn't ruin it. Know before you go: - Arrive early! We got there when they opened at 11 AM on a Friday. Two other parties were already there and waiting to dine, as well. By 11:30 AM, a nice-sized crowd had rolled in. They had no problem getting everyone served quickly, though. - You order and pay first, grab a seat, and then they bring your food out to you. - Yes, the platter sizes are sufficient for two hungry adults to fill up on! You might even have trouble finishing it all. - Their online menu has awesome pictures of each platter option. The platters look smaller in person than in those photos, but as I said, you will definitely get full. - My husband, who is not a pho lover, loved the Angry Pho. - They are closed on Saturdays and Mondays. - They have gluten-free and halal options.
