Best falafel I have had in LA. Not to mention the hummus, baba ghanouj, grape leaves, tabouli and perfectly cooked pita bread. The location is very nice, covered outdoor seating with lots of shade. The food is fresh and really top notch - they know what they're doing and they don't mess around.

Good food and quick service. Wrap was huge. Pita was a tad burnt which is the only reason I didn't give them a 5. Buon appetito

I love a good chicken shawarma and this Mediterranean restaurant has the perfect combo! I'm usually in a rush so I place my order online and run in to pick it up. Surprisingly, this restaurant has a 20 min free parking lot directly adjacent to it. The chicken shawarma comes with a great salad, hummus, pita bread and rice. The flavors are always great and the chicken is always fresh. I would recommend checking out this restaurant if you love a healthy Mediterranean meal.

After shopping in the Jewelry mart we eyed this little stand alone spot from a distance. My girl said "ooh I think I'm craving Falafel!" Lucky us because this place was great. The chicken Kabab was so tender and juicy we were really set back and said OMG! Fortunately I had asked the server what you'd eat here even after eating everything a million times? She immediately said the Chicken Kabab, thank goodness because it was amazing. Now the main event "Fatal" gyro . Delectable is the safest word to use! Light, crunchy and their sauce was sweet & tangy... I wouldn't change a thing about it! We will stop here again next time we're in DTLA! To boot, It's next to 2 parking lots with discounted rates!

No review would do it justice. Definitely the most flavorful shawarma I've had in the city. The service was lovely as well, everything was presented with a smile and very quickly. I enjoyed sitting outside of the restaurant to have my meal as well. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're downtown.

Eaten here once before and can say this place is consistent. Can be expensive but worth it. Healthy, lean options that has flavor. Rice is never dry and the warm fresh pita bread tastes decadent. The service from staff are kind and accommodating. My go to dtla Mediterranean eatery I vouch for.

6/10 VERY DRY ..the most important part of the plate is-supposed to be the chicken that's makes the meal.

Ordered 3 plates for take out tonight for $65. 2 Chicken Shawarma and 1 combination plate Not a good experience! The Chicken Shawarma was SO DRY with lack of flavor. Usually when I order this at other places. The meat is usually juicy and tender. This was so dry. Even my hubby was complaining about it. We didn't get to the combination plate yet. Saving it for later tonight Hope it's not the same results. Kind of disappointed spending almost $70 tonight By the way they charge $2 for swiping your card

Love the food here but unfortunately the information online is not correct. Came here after work at 11:30pm thinking it would be open but was informed their hours of operations are not correct on yelp. So don't come here past 10pm!!

This was considerably a hard place for me because I went there and ordered the chicken kabob plate and it was great, full of flavor and the service was top notch. The restaurant was clean and it had a decent ambiance for it being in DTLA. I ordered the exact same thing a few days later and it was mid af, the food was bland and it lacked everything I had experienced from the first time around. Making it inconsistent, the first time was a Tuesday and the second time was on a Sunday. I had ordered it to go but I don't know. I guess it's great if you order food there and eat it at the restaurant but aside from that it didn't hold up to its hype, once taken to eat elsewhere. I probably won't be coming back as it's in an inconvenient location of the city, for me.

More like 4-1/2. The meat in the Giro was teetering on the Xcllent side. The downside, and only a minor digression was that I thought the Tahini was a bit thin / watery, and falafel itself, average. Meat in the Gyro was tasty and pleasing though.

They had utensils, napkins, and sauces with containers while you wait. I ordered the falafel bowl and pali salad in case the bowl itself wasn't enough. It did take longer than the other orders but once I got it, we sat outside where they had a few tables and chairs. The bowl looked fresh and vibrant, so many colors and a decent amount of falafel. I tried their white and mazbout sauces on the salad. I'm glad it had spinach as it helped reduce water from seeping out. The falafel was slightly spicy since I am terrible with spic r tolerance but the sauce made it very balanced. I also got to try someone's fries and it was super delicious, the spices they used on the fries were flavorful and the fried were very crispy and smooth inside. Overall, very nice quick lunch, we arrived before they opened right at 12pm and avoided the lunch rush! Very affordable prices as well.

It was good, not great. I also had the veggie shawarma. I won't get that again. It was mushy, and when I go for that dish, I'm not trying to be healthy. (Say that 10 times, eat a cracker and whistle.) The shop was just a hop, skip and jump down the 91. Be advised that parking is a challenge. The Convenience store next door allowed parking for 10 minutes. Not convenient. The Dry Cleaner had spaces for 10 seconds. I can't even open the car door in 10 seconds. The available slots are narrow and best for motorcycles, not cars and trucks. Sababa is a fast casual concept but hold on there, not so fast, Mate, there is always a line out the door so let's make it a slow casual place. No matter, it's all worth the effort. Patience is not optional as the place is a bit of a Mad House. Pickle bits flying and Tomato Cucumber Relish launched while your meal is created before your eyes and yet the place is very clean and appealing. The line will move and you will eventually interact with the phalanx of enthusiastic Servers ready and happy to make your Bowls and Stuff your Pita just the way you want it. Three different kinds of thinly sliced Onions (Sumac dusted, Pickled, or a short shower of Lemon Juice) plus Diced Pickles, Two types of Shredded Cabbage, Fresh Chopped Tomatoes and Cucumbers, Chopped Lettuce (hmmm, so far so good), Cucumber Yogurt Sauce (like Raita), Shatta (Hot Sauce), Tahini and a dollop of Hummus. Voila, you're all set to eat a Pita stuffed with stuff exactly the way you've been dreaming about. The Pita is outsourced and better than you'll find in any local market or Bakery in Little Arabia. Half an inch thick, served warm, and the top half sliced in half to allow loading the beast with whatever you've been pointing at behind the glass sneeze shield. The finished product is slipped into a paper bag to minimalize making a mess, (almost). The Pita is the size of a dinner plate but it won't get soggy, disintegrate of suffer from Falafel Fall Apart. The origin of Sababa is to offer the traditional street food that's famous in Palestinian Ramallah. All the Meats are strictly Halal certified by Islamic Authorities and are top quality with no mystery chew. ie; it is authentic. Sure, Trump and Netanyahu can bomb the snot out of every country in the Middle East but wouldn't it be better instead of reloading if Sababa could supply all the warring factions with magnificent fully loaded Pitas. All the nonsense might disappear by desert. Whatever your background, origin, religion, or political philosophy, this is a place of piece. Birkas, Wife Beaters and Crocs, Hajibs, Rib Bibs, all harken the Netherworld Waiting Room in Beetlejuice and all diners are welcome here. Sababa should be the model for how everyone can get along. I literally convinced myself that the entire sandwich (which makes me unbelievably full halfway through) is basically so healthy for me. I finally went in today and sadly, was not only disappointed, my fantasy of Falafel King was destroyed forever. I know Benito used to work for Falafel King, but this place is nothing like it. The service was horrible. The guy behind the little counter was not nice at all. In fact he was rude. And didn't like if you asked him questions. But that aside, sitting in this little tiny restaurant was not a good feeling. We were the only ones there. They have a seating area outside, I'm guessing for overflow - yet, the table and chairs were right there in the middle of the restaurant. Piled up. They didn't even bother to take it outside. Put all that aside - we get to the food. One of the best things Falafel King has were the "chips", which were battered slices of potatoes that were deep fried. These were slices of potato, they were potato chips. Thin. No "meat" on them, if you know what I mean. And sadly, they were fried either early this morning or last night. Terrible, cold, hard, no taste - not even salt. We move on the falafel - which tasted good. The taste of the falafel itself was good, but the oil dripping down my hand an face was not. I blame that on the oil not being hot enough when he put the falafel into the oil. Next, the actual shwarma is not really shwarma (like you all know it). There was no revolving slab of meat where the fat melts into the meat and makes it so so special. No. This was a little baggy of already cooked meat with no spices on it thrown on the plancha and heated up. Hard and tasteless. Very disappointing. I picked it out of my pita and ate the salad with tehina and spicy eggplant (which WAS tasty). The pita is also a thin hard pita - not the nice fluffy type. I didn't finish my food, and my friend didn't finish the food, as you can see in the pictures. Sorry to give it a 1 - but to say you have ANY connection to "Falafel King" is a disgrace. Sorry if I sound brutal. I tell it like it is.

Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." Could be because it was Sunday and there was a Farmers Market nearby, but still something to consider. We ordered the Lamb Plate ($26). Portion was solid and the plate is actually pretty interesting -- lots of different sides (flatbread, greens, olives, pickled turnips, etc.), so it doesn't feel boring. That said, the lamb itself was just a few small pieces and it was ground. I would've preferred more actual meat Tried the rosemary lemonade too, but didn't really taste any rosemary. Just a regular lemonade, slightly sweet and sour. Also you pay upfront right after ordering. We sat outside on a small patio facing Glendale Blvd. It's a tight space, and at one point someone from the street was walking around nearby talking to themselves, which made the experience a bit less comfortable. Staff was friendly and service was quick though, no issues there. Also, no public restroom, so keep that in mind. Overall, not bad. I was hungry, so I finished everything pretty fast, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to make a special trip again.

I finally had the chance to stop in for a solo early dinner, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Lule Kabob Combo ($22), which included skewers of minced beef and chicken, rice, veggies, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The highlights of the meal were definitely the salad and the grilled tomato; the pomegranate seeds in the rice were also a nice touch. However, the meats weren't to my taste--the chicken had an odd aftertaste, and while the beef was better, neither really worked for me. Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. On the positive side, the portion sizes are very generous for the price point, and I left feeling full. I also have to mention that the patio is adorable and very "Instagrammable," so it's a great spot if you're looking for a photo-friendly environment. A quick note for future visitors: they are currently having issues with their card reader and are requesting cash or Zelle. It felt a little unusual to be rung up on a register only to pay via Zelle, but it wasn't a major deal.
