Excuse my ignorance, but it seemed to have everything you would typically find in a small Indian supermarket. There was a row with bags of rice, a row of spices, a row of hundreds of box mixes for everything from Curry to Biryani (don't fall for the simplicity of the box... you need to add at least a dozen other items!), a section with imported cookies and snacks, and a section with pots and pans. Some clothes or shawls were hanging on the side room's wall. In the back I thought I saw a chicken being butchered through the doorway, but my wife suggested it might be a lamb shank. Regardless, this is a Halal meat market and the faint of heart should not look in the back. The front counter had some cookies and such, and the store owner offered me a free fried dough item. I gladly accepted his generous gift, though it turned out to be a solid blob of dough without a hint of sugar or sweetness or spice. Since I am rarely looking for Indian spices, I doubt I will be back. However, it was a clean store with a friendly owner and I wish them well.

What I found was a store fully stocked with produce, frozen foods, canned goods, grains, snacks and lots and lots of spices. They were cutting fresh meat in the back so I assume they sell that too. The prices were very reasonable from what I saw. I only bought 4 items for my first time but I pal. To come back and check out the large spice selection. The produce looked fresh with some familiar American items and some that are primarily used in Indian cooking. I purchased a large pouch of madras curry powder for $2.99. Next time I'll get some fenugreek seeds for sure. I also got a box of spicy Chapli Chicken Kabobs with coriander seeds they are gmo free with a short, food only ingredient list. Mango Chili sauce and a pistachio ice cream (kulfi) bar rounded out my purchases for today. The place was very busy which is always a good sign.

While it's very nicely arranged inside, I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in. They did sell some refrigerated items like cheeses and pasta. I'd hoped to see more local items. One half of the shop seems to be the bakery area. There were baked goods like croissants and macarons that were uncovered in that area of the store. This didn't make me want to try anything. My mom got a cookie last time she was in and wasn't impressed. The store actually had quite a few people shopping and only one employee who was running back and forth between the shop half and the bakery half of the store. This store has potential- I think if the quality of the baked goods improves, this could be somewhere I'd want to visit more often. If you're in the area checking out Small Song (a terrific store), it's worth stopping in here as well.
