I do not however, intend return to this dealership in the near term so will not be contacting him, but in reflection of the manager reaching out to me, which itself reflects the fact that they may be trying to turn this place around I'm willing to slightly neutralize the impact of my review by upgrading it to a two star. My original review still stands however, its not enough that you contact upset customers afterwards, they need to ensure their customer service managers are trained appropriately in communication. However if they are trying to turn this around I do respect that and so will monitor future reviews and if after sometime there is a significant improvement may consider trying them again. read more

Rich tried multiple banks for our loan to get the lowest rate. I can't say how impressed I was with both the salesman and the finance mngr. Brought my 2011 Fiesta in 4 times to address a traction control and transmission slippage issue. The car would get stuck in 2" of snow, traction control would then disable the ability to "power out" of the position. I researched the issue online and saw there were multiple service bulletins and customer complaints matching mine leading to transmission replacement. The car had a 12 month 12k bumper to bumper warranty as well as 10 years 100k on the drivetrain. The car always came back with NO REPAIRS DONE and "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE" written in tye comments section of the invoice. I complained to Ford Corporate and got a middle finger. I bought that load of crap for $14,000 and after a mere 5 months of dealing with these repeated issues and only putting 2,000 miles on the car I went back to trade out. Low and behold by their own admission the car was only worth $9,000... So obviously they wanted to score a homerun on a trade. I was told- if you want a better deal come back in a year. The car was traded for a Honda and 2 months later Ford sends me a notice that my transmission is one of the ones up for a recall. Bought my wife's car here and do regular services for her and my cars here. My all around experiences have been good here. Never got hounded by salesman and never had to play the "manager" game. Services have been good with the only downside being the long wait. Thankfully they play movies in the waiting room and offer coffee and snacks for free. Top notch car dealership that breaks the mould! I recently had a car totaled in October of 2013, and was scrambling to find a replacement without getting 'raked over the coals'. Haldeman Ford exceeded every hope & expectation I had. I went to the dealer looking to initially buy a 2001 Chevy Astro from their value lot. The salesman I spoke to over the phone was Dana Ventura, and I was scheduled for a test drive. Having been to dealers before and put up with the 'Internet sales' departments, I was pleased to know Mr. Ventura was NOT one of the shadow salesman- he'll meet you face to face and do everything to help you. He was honest, patient, and thorough with every step of the buying process. Eventually I found a 2011 Ford Fiesta that was a Certified Pre- Owned car that I liked. I told mr. Ventura what I was willing to pay (starting price & monthly) and he got the deal in motion. The finance department was amazing, they got the deal bought under my projected payment with a lower finance rate and term than I expected! I had one "Factory Service Bulletin" on the car that they addressed immediately and got me on the road quicker than I thought. All in all this dealership is above their competition. They treat customers fairly & with respect. The sales team doesn't pressure customers into more expensive cars, and the service department is prompt. We came in just scouting to see if we should trade in our 2012 Ford Edge and they made us an offer we couldn't refuse. Took my car in for an oil change and got a phone call 20 minutes later saying that they left my door open and my car hit the side of the garage and broke my whole entire window and they were saying they were going to charge me for it when it was their mistake they shattered my entire car window I told them absolutely not I was not going to pay for it because they broke it and it was in their care. Also when they give me back my vehicle since they had to take the whole door off to put a new window and they left a huge gap in between The outside of my door and the inside of the door and now my power locks do not work. So when I went back later that day they paid for my window to be fixed and installed a new one but when I got back into my car there was glass fragments from my window on EVERYTHING so I called them back when I got home they didn't answer so the manager called me back the next day and said sorry we tried to clean it up there's nothing to do for you so basically he said just brush it off with your hands you're fine. There were also scratches on my door and my front bumper. I have white leather seats in my car when I got my car back there was all grease marks all over the steering wheel and my white leather seats. The girls in the automotive/mechanic reception area are very disrespectful and rude laughing and eating while attending to a customer. THEY ARE ALL UNPROFESSIONAL. These reviews that say how great Haldeman is are bull. I've been servicing the Mercer area for almost 30 years and if I did in my business what these guys do to their customers I'd be bankrupt. I purchased numerous cars and trucks from these clowns and it's always a negotiation war to get to where other dealers start their pricing I did however get to the price point but you have to do your honework because there isn't any trust with Haldeman. For instance I just purchased two 350 transit cutaways with the upfit option from John Kennedy ford and without any haggling I got the price I wanted which was 4000 less than Haldeman Ford and I don't even know the guys from John Kennedy. As a result I'll purchase four more that's a 240000 deal but Haldeman s price would have added 24000 to that price, that's a big difference. Do yourself a favor and shop with the honest salespeople at the Kennedy dealership and you find that you've been getting thaken advantage of from Haldeman. Fg read more

The worst place ever!! I bought a used car that they said was not in an accident and it was. Ok... maybe maybe they didn't know. I have expired tags and no info on when I can get a new registration card etc. I called more times then I can count to find out what address my title work was sent to and when. NO ONE will call back!!! No sales managers. No asst sales manager. Not MR Hritz who is above them. This is the worst customer service. Al Haldeman would be furious. All in all, I would say my visit was okay. I was impressed with how quickly I was able to walk out in my new vehicle. I arrived at 10a and left by 1:30p, pretty quick for purchasing a new car. That was probably the highlight of my visit! My salesman, Tyler, was very nice and very frank when it came to the dreaded negations, which I appreciated. The reason for my rating is because of the two issues I did have with this experience. The first one being, I noticed a small nick in the paint & a small dent on the drivers side door. When this was brought to attention, I was told that it would be fixed and wouldn't take long. After the paperwork was done and I walked outside to leave, the dent/nick were still there. I questioned it. I was told that "because of the great deal" they gave me on the price of the car, they would lose money on fixing this issue. Luckily, you can hardly notice it, but what I didn't appreciate was being flat-out lied to about it. You don't want to fix it, fine, but then tell me before you reassured me it would be taken care of. Also, I wasn't going to throw this in but it's on the same topic - I traded in my previous vehicle the same day. It had a full tank of gas, when I mentioned it, I was told not to worry because I would leave with a full tank of gas. I left with a half tank in my new car. If I didn't have work right afterwards, I would've gone back. It felt like a pattern - making promises they didn't intend to keep. My second issue and this one REALLY aggravated me. This is my first new car, on my own, so forgive me for not knowing the registration process for new vehicles. My temp tag expires in less than a week. Good thing I noticed that when I looked at the tags the other day. I just tried to call Tyler (this morning) to find out where my registration is. I paid the dealer doc fees just like everyone else so why has it taken 3 weeks to get my registration?! He didn't answer. Fine, he's with a client probably, but if you hand out your business card with your personal cell phone number on it, you should at least erase your voicemail inbox so people can leave a message about concerns they have. I had to call the main number and the girl who answered looked up my information. "It's here." That's what she said to me in a very abrupt voice. I had to ask her where and why did no one call to tell me that. She told me in a very rude, condescending voice that the salesmen are notified and then should contact clients. Well, obviously that didn't happen. And I know that he has the correct number for me because he called me twice after I bought the car to see how it was working out for me. So not only did they fail to tell me my registration is in, but I couldn't get ahold of my salesman, and the receptionist had an attitude. The trifecta of a horrible ending to this experience. It makes me believe that maybe Haldeman is like the other dealerships and only treats you well BEFORE you sign the papers. After that, you're on your own. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here, but it wouldn't be the worst choice for another car. Just be careful of false promises & check in on your registration after your purchase. read more

So let me start off by saying dealing with this dealership has been the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had. Let me explain in detail... I bought a used 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe AS-IS for 12,416.00 the car isn't even worth that in excellent condition. They never told me anything was wrong with the car and the check engine light was off. The check engine light came on within 24 hours. They must have cleared the codes to sell the vehicle. I went to start it up the morning after I bought it and the engine was rattling. I brought it back to the dealership and they looked at it. They told me there was engine problems. So they asked me if I wanted another car and I said sure lets look at them. They then came back and said they would give me a warranty and that I would have to pay a 100.00 deductible that they would cover. They told me to wait about a month for the warranty to kick in and bring it to be serviced. I waited a month and called to setup the time to have it serviced and they told me to bring it to the Hyundai dealership. I brought it to the Hyundai Dealership last Wednesday and after doing a diagnostic they determined that it was the Drive Chain Tensioners. The warranty will only cover the repair it won't cover the breakdown of the engine which means they have to completely take apart my engine then wait for the warranty inspector to come out and determine whether they cover the repair. They now want 750.00 in labor to take apart the engine plus 100.00 for the deductible. I called Haldeman Ford because I feel they are responsible for the 750.00 plus the 100.00 deductible because they told me that it would only be 100.00 deductible that they would cover. So they sold me a car that was overpriced for excellent condition and now I am without a car that I am stuck paying for. They barely return my calls and the last call I was told I would receive a call back and have never heard back. I have filed a claim with the BBB and I am perusing a case in small claims court to cover the cost that I had to pay out of pocket. Once they get their money they could care less about you and you are just stuck with the car. Don't buy used cars from this place. They also sold me the car with really bad brakes, bad tires, a bad battery, no oil change, and one headlight that was out. There was NO safety inspection done to this car before they sold it to me. Purchased a used vehicle in 2016 with a Clean car fax. One owner with no accidents or damage listed. Recently found out that there is structural damage that happened 1 year prior to my purchase but reported 2 years after the damage happened. I was offered half of the kbb value when I went to trade it in at another dealership last month. Car fax doesn't care so I reached out to the Haldeman dealership to see if they could help me get out of this vehicle since I purchased it there. I bought a 2014 Subaru from them and was impressed with them from the start. It's been 2 years and every time I'm in for an oil change, my salesman, Dana, remembers me and my car. I've been in a couple times for body work and assorted service issues and the staff are always pleasant and courteous. I am never followed or hassled and I feel like they honestly want me to feel relaxed when I'm there. My son purchased a used GMC Terrain from Haldeman (only because his friend was the salesman) 2 years & 4 months ago. It had an oil leak from the start. Haldeman service department couldn't find the source of the leak & neither could other private mechanics. Here we are - just that short time later - with an engine that needs to be replaced. Upon returning to Haldeman, he was told the extended warranty has expired & he will have to pay the entire cost out of pocket to replace the engine. He still has 3 years left on his loan for the purchase of this vehicle. And, just for kicks, they lost his keys for the vehicle - adding to his stress. My family has purchased/leased multiple cars from here and I will never go back. The service and finance departments are not informed about any of their products or upsells and all have different answers when asked the same questions. I have requested on multiple instance, with multiple messages left for someone to call back and I have never received a call back. Whenever I call, no matter the time of day, Randy (service manager) and Rich (Finance manager) are not available and are magically on lunch; and don't bother calling back because then they are gone for the day. If I could submit a negative star I would. Your service staff especially are poorly informed and provided horrendous customer service. I made an appointment for a service appointment, dropped car off at 0730am. All that was to be done was an oil change and repair of a rearview mirror. Told the intaking service person the rearview mirror would need to be replaced and to replace same. At approximately 320pm I received a call from the service department asking me if I wanted to have the mirror replaced and if I still wanted the oil change completed. The person appeared to not have my interest of the vehicle at the best interest. He appeared to talk in a demeaning manner when asked why it took so long to respond with an estimate or update to the vehicle service. The service department handled my customer problems especially poor. I have had leased/purchased vehicle(s) here and the service department has typically delayed in acting on such issues or making contact to advise of the issue until the end of the day(well after 4pm) today was an exception, which made the problem worse and myself more upset. The service department did not meet even the lowest expectations in terms of being a good listener. They appear to not be able to deliver any type of message-- short or long, good news or bad, in a written or oral format or to any type of audience--in an effective manner. read more

I'd like to share my experience at Haldeman ford. I was a walk-in customer, interested in a custom built vehicle from the factory. I knew exactly what I want, based on the Ford website. When I discussed the vehicle with the dealer sales rep, he informed me that if I wanted certain items, I was obligated to purchase several additional enhancements. This seemed a little strange to me, especially since I was able to build the car I wanted on the manufacturers website, so I asked "are you sure?" It amounted to about $2000 extra. The dealer sales rep informed me that "Ford sets the rules, I can't change it" despite my polite objections. I called for customer service a few days later (my wife and I visited the dealer on a Friday night), and they seemed confused about my suggestion that certain manufacturer enhancements required the addition of multiple dealer-installed options. The following weekend I visited another local dealer, told them what I wanted, and they drew up a quote in a matter of minutes. My experience with both Ford customer service and another local dealer makes it clear that Haldeman Ford did their best to rip me off (with a smile) even though there were numerous opportunities to honorably earn my business. I will advise against Haldeman Ford for the rest of my life. read more

So 2 years later Halderman continues to deliver. They regularly service our 06 E-350 handicapped van, my son's fiesta got swallowed by a flood shortly after it was bought. He opted to replace it with a honda accord ( which he regrets ) but he still has a year left on the lease & when he bails out of that he plans to buy another Ford from Dana Ventura ( best salesman, ever ). Years ago working for a tire dealer i got to see the behind the scenes there and they impressed me then & still does today. Checkout their Windsor NJ location as well & they have Subaru too. I will NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone! They have HORRIBLE customer service and even worse communication between their departments! Purchased a vehicle and there were two things that needed to be fixed so I reached out several times to my sales associate my phone and e-mail. After about 3 days, I finally was able to get in contact with him and told him about the issues. He said just schedule a service call. I scheduled and when I came to pick my car up they asked for payment. I stated I was not paying as this was an issue when I left with the car and I spoke to my sales associate. The manager at the service department told me okay he will charge it to the sales department and for the one issue I had to come back because they didn't have time to do it the day I brought it in. I was never notified that the one issue wasn't fixed before I came to pick up my car. The sales manager said bring it back at your earliest convenience or when you schedule your complimentary service appointment. So I scheduled my service appointment and to fix the issue at 9AM Tuesday. No one ever called me to let me know it was finished or what was going on. I reached out at 3PM. They told me I had to pay for the issue under my warranty with a deductible when originally I was told by the sales manager that it would be charged to sales as it happened not even a few days after I purchased the vehicle. I had to call constantly to follow up on whether it was done and to be transferred to each department several times because they were claiming no one remember or wrote it down so I had to pay for it if I wanted it fixed. They did not stand behind what they had initially told me and after they told me that two sales people said they went to my car and did not see they issue, yet when I picked up the car the issue is clearly evident! Horrible customer service from manager Marguerite. I put a $500 refundable deposit on a 2008 Pontiac G8. After reviewing the car through pictures sent over it was found that the vehicle had damage to the passenger side doors. I inquired about fixing it and they stated they would split the cost. At no time was there a verbal or written agreement to start repairs on a car I never saw in person. Furthermore after doing research in the car it was involved in extensive damage to the drivers side front fender and bumper that they knew about but did not disclose. I refused to purchase the vehicle after my research and credit union would not fund the deal due to book value and now Marguerite refuses to refund my $500 refundable deposit as she stated they did repairs on a vehicle they did not want to do. She also hung up on me without trying to resolve this. Bad customer service! Why would you repair a vehicle before a customer has even seen it in person? Calle sales manager JR and left several messages. No response. Called service manage he said he'd get back - never did he get back to me. I am ideal customer - cars for me wife and sons. No loyalty or concern that air bags kill. Callous attitude- no appreciation for our patronage. And no attempt to initiate problem solving or no follow through. I enjoy the staff they are upbeat, kind and knowledgeable. they try to whisper your car issue for privacy ( I thght that was funny) and do their best to get your car serviced as quickly as possible. UPDATE: 12/30/17Just got back from Haldeman Ford Hamilton NJ again after having the car in the shop for the 3rd time since 11/25/17-for the SAME problem!!! We have paid out $1800 for steering rack repair, 2 tows and a overnight hotel stay. Randy, the operations manager, refused to even meet with us. He had Kate, service advisor, tells us that the original part failed & it was not anything they did. These things happen & they will not be reimbursing us for anything.
