Half Baked & Fully Brewed is definitely a casual spot. The interior isn't really decorated and it didn't seem like they had air conditioning, but the restaurant had a nice local charm to it. It took a little while for our food to be prepared, since it was more of a prepare as you go spot, as opposed to a traditional restaurant. If you're in a rush, this might not be the best spot to visit. However, if you have some time, it's nice sitting outside and enjoying your meal. If you're looking for a range of café type options, this is the place to go. The coffee and matcha drinks were delicious! In terms of food, you can customize your breakfast sandwiches and wraps with all different sorts of toppings. The bagel used for the breakfast sandwich was just alright, but not stale or anything. Women taking our order greeted us with an open mouth yawn, ordered 2 plain bagels with cream cheese, and coffee & ice tea - no ice tea available. Ok, 2 bagels and a coffee it is. Coffee came hot and tasted ok, took the bagels and returned to the car started driving before eating unwrapped the bagels to see they were actually English Muffins, uncooked with a mound of cream cheese, gross! Worst latte ever. It's the most frustrating thing to me when I save up money for a vacation, happily drive to the area (which happens to be kancamagus highway), and then my money goes to waste because the barista just thinks I'm a tourist so my opinion doesn't matter since I'm not a local. That is the attitude I got when I walked in, but I figured I'd be patient and wait for my overpriced drink....only to be disappointed by the flavorless mocha latte I ordered. We were driving through the area on a beautiful Saturday afternoon after driving the Kangamangus Highway (fun route!) when I spotted Half Baked & Fully Brewed. There was plenty of parking outside of the restaurant. They had their menu outside and a notice to make sure there were not more than 6 people in the store at the time. They also had other precautions like the register being behind plastic, however, they did not have a policy of no mask, no entry and the employees were not wearing masks. That does make me slightly uneasy to see but we went in as it was just us and the employees (later two more customers entered also without masks). They have a great smoothie and coffee selection. In the back there are freezers with an assortment of homemade food. I found those prices to be a bit much and having never tried the food there before I didn't want to commit but I did think their eclectic assortment was impressive. I also really liked the store's decor. There are Native American instruments and tools in cases throughout the shop. Interesting to look at while waiting for coffee and other items for sure. We went with an iced maple and I used the Old Man Joe's coffee blend (I think this included hazelnut and cinnamon) as they will give you the flavor and then you can go to the two iced coffee machines and get your own. The cream had run out but an employee replaced it with no problem when I asked her. One thing I will also say is that it's hard to hear in the store. The music seems to cause a bit of background echo noise and we had to repeat what we were saying several times. My dining partner went with the power smoothie which had banana, espresso and chocolate and which was amazing. I would get another one of those in a heartbeat. My coffee was also awesome. Really quality brew and the flavors went well together. Prices were great too. I think next visit I'll buy some of their food because the coffee and smoothie were so good. read more

On our way home we stopped because I was in want of a good cup of coffee and wanted to pick something up for our breakfast. I was pleased to see they have an espresso menu, in addition to regular hot and iced coffee offerings. I ordered a skim latte for myself and an iced caramel mochaccino for my husband. Both were frothy and delicious! For breakfast sandwiches they have lots of meat, cheese and bread options. I was pleased to see they had Portuguese Muffins which are so popular in our home area. Very quaint shoppe with a few tables inside & out. The view of Loon mountain is incredible and can be seen from inside. There is no parking lot only street parking which can get tricky during rush hour. They have hand-made dream catchers & jewelry for sale by local artists, which compliments the store. The line was long but we decided to stay. The coffee was fresh brewed and hot. I ordered a bagel from their specials menu of avocado, spinach, tomato and red onions on an everything bagel. It was delicious. I wish I lived closer because I would order that regularly. They had a ton of fresh home made pastries, such as muffins, coffee cake, cookies, cinnamon buns. Service in this place is terrible, the cashier was really rude and yelled at me a couple of times. I was going to order for my whole family, but Her attitude was unbearable! The other employees seem nicer and should be taking over the registry. Also, They are not well prepared to deal with social distancing and the new COVID reality. The cashier which didn't wear any face covering or gloves handed me my coffee cup from the rim with her bare hands! The worse is that just seconds before she was counting cash. The coffee is self serve which isn't a great idea. There was no clear signage or floor marks inside or in the waiting areas, and the 6 people at the same time rule wasn't enforced. Simple changes matter, leave your door open so customers don't have to touch the door handle, activate contactless payments, and be nicer we all struggling! For the owner: 1) Review and follow the NH Universal Guidelines. 2) Review and follow the CDC guidance for cleaning and disinfection 3) Provide ServSafe COVID-19 training or its equivalent as soon as possible to all employees. read more

I was super impressed by this place. It's very small, nothing fancy, but the coffee is fantastic. There is no parking lot, just a few street spaces in front. The atmosphere was small town for sure. Great down to earth vibe. Great fun music too. I got a cappuccino with soy milk. The foam was super thick and dense, so rare to find! Espresso was so good. I'm not sure if it was amazing beans or the girl just made an amazing espresso. The girl who took my order was super sweet. (I didn't catch her name, but she was wearing a McLovin hoodie). She also made the crazy good coffee and a green smoothie. I was pleasantly surprised by the price of the smoothie... just $4.99 for a large cup, that's unheard of! This is my go to place for breakfast. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. I strongly recommend their Portuguese Muffin or Asiago bagel. Their coffee is delicious and I'm a fan of their Cafe Mocha. They also sell pre prepared meals and pies. They are also great and perfect individual our family portions. Even before this place opens, it gets super busy, especially very early in the morning. It's probably best to wait until before noon to visit this place if you're up for coffee. Half Baked has some pretty good food and coffee. We were here three times during our weekend long trip in Lincoln. I'd definitely come back here for food and coffee next time I'm here. read more

It was hard to decide between 2 and 3 stars for this place. My system is that everything starts out as three stars then if it meets expectations and nothing more it stays three. Positive things bring it up and negative bring it down. The coffee, at least the day we went was pretty terrible. It was very weak and not hot. I tried my S.O.'s Lemon meringue pie. It was pretty good in my opinion. Definitively, the amount of sugar was meant to cater to the American over sweetened palate. In the end, the pie didn't make up for bad coffee. This was my first time here so I had no idea there were supposed to be menus available until I got to the counter. I couldn't read the chalk board behind the staff from where I was standing. Well the food and drinks at this place are not bad, with sandwiches and muffins, smoothies and coffees. However they seem intent on poor service. Today we arrived one hour before closing, and they told us they were closed because "the computer was down". Really? You can make drinks and make change without a computer? On an earlier trip today we waited for five minutes in the store as the only customer - just to buy a muffin. The staff asked me to wait even after I asked if they could help. I don't know who owns this place but I hope you weren't there and that you will find out what the problem is. read more

great coffee, bad attitude. Me and my buddy came here on a sunday morning for a coffee and a bite to eat. We waited in line and as we were in line watched the cashier talk to everyone in a rude condescending tone. I would suggest her to take a step back and observe the way she treats others, because i think she would then realize it's not really acceptable. The coffee is self serve so i would say 6/10 people in line ask where the coffee is and she acts as if it's the dumbest question in the world. simple questions deserve simple answers, don't make people feel dumb. Especially with the fact that this is a tourist town where most people aren't regulars and are just stopping on their way out of town. Aside from her poor attitude the coffee and breakfast sandwich special (changes daily) was delicious and I would begrudgingly come again, the only hesitation i have is encountering this angry frustrating person. Worst customer service EVER. they are clueless. my wife and I were driving by there on the way to Maine. I walked in for some hot water for my thermos because I was feeling horrible and needed to drink some of my fennel herbs. SO, I walk in, and, understanding that they are a business and need to make money, I grabbed a couple overpriced granola bars and a yogurt, about a $6 purchase, I asked the clerk, by the way who did not greet me when I walked in ( no one there did), if she could fill my thermos with hot or boiling water, she then walks over to the DISH SINK and fills my container up with cloudy tepid water. I thought maybe she didnt understand what i meant, so I asked her if i could have "tea water". She pointed to the espresso machine and said " we have water for people who pay for tea". Nice ...really nice... wow, they really care huh. So, I walk out.. then I walked back in, asked for the owner, she appears, I explain everything, her response "All our customers pay for water". I explained that I bought a bunch of crap from her store and so that should make up for it, she didnt agree and said she charges $1 for water. ( the clerk did not offer me that option). the owner looked totally uninterested in my complaint, so I left... I drove to the nearest Starbucks and asked for water with NO thermos, and they(drum roll please) gave me a large cup of PIPING hot water at NO CHARGE.. Whaddaya know.. Its no wonder why they are #1. and I dont want to hear the excuse " we need to charge water because It costs us blah blah blah blah".. if you knew ANYTHING about business you would know how valuable it is for someone to just walk into your store or call your company. I worked in lead management before and companies paid TONS of cash just to get someone to want to talk to them. So, if the owner of "Half baked" reads this, here's some tips on customer service (since you clearly need some). 1. NEVER give the customer a reason to complain about you. A good word travels a block, a bad word travels a MILE! (hence my review here). 2. WATER IS FREE. and giving it is a chance to create a nice memory in your customer's mind. 3. And this has to to with rule #2. If a customer is BUYING stuff from your store and asks for water, GIVE IT TO THEM WITH A SMILE! What are you trying to prove? Well you proved to me that you are the worst customer service coffee shop Ive ever been to. 4. When a customer complains to you directly, try to look concerned, even if you're not. try to avoid the "i really dont want to talk to you" face. 5. When a customer walks in your store ---GREET THEM!!!! Its' so easy and free and few places do that anymore. I did NOT feel welcome there at all. 6. In this age of Yelp and blogs and review sites, the above rules are a million times more important. I sincerely suggest that you open a new business, one NOT requiring service and courtesy. Stopped in for a cup of coffee after a hike - and was swept off my feet by such a smooth cup of coffee. For real, I have been thinking about this up of coffee for weeks now. They had about 5 different hot brews to choose from (and a selection of iced as well). Hot, smooth, delicious. Can't beat it! They had definitely had soy milk - can't quite recall if they had almond milk. They had a lot of options for food as well. Including a fridge in the back of food you could heat up in an oven and feed a family with. Definitely saw a few prepared dishes that could be vegan. Wish I had tried their forbidden rice salad which looked amazing. I will be back, but in the mean time I will spread the word of the greatest cup of coffee I have had in a while. read more
