We had such an amazing experience working with Half Baked for our wedding cake. We were losing hope searching for bakeries that offered delicious vegan flavors and felt defeated. I ordered Oreo animal print cake pops for my daughter's birthday and they turned out AMAZING. They did a zebra, cheetah, giraffe, and tiger print (I took pictures AFTER the celebration and so the zebra is not pictured because they had been eaten up). Not only did they look great, they also tasted great. A friend and I were talking about how we have had pretty terrible cake pops from other places in the past that were dry, had too much frosting to cake ratio, or no flavor, etc. But the cake pops from Half Baked nailed it and were really delicious. I've ordered 2 dozen cupcakes and 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries for an event. I specifically told the lady the date and time I wanted to pick them up. I show up at the right time and I have nothing. They wrote down the wrong date. I needed these for my daughters 1st Communion. I was beyond upset, I had guest waiting at the restaurant. They were able to make them and have them delivered after an hour. I stupidly went back simply because their cupcakes are delicious. I had a cake made for my daughters birthday and ordered 6 Vanilla cupcakes and 6 Red Velvet cupcakes. I went over the time and date. I had to verify she wrote it correctly as I did not want a repeat event like last time. I overpaid for a small 8 in cake, $195.00 to be exact. If the cake was delicious and enjoyed by guests it would have been worth every penny. My husband showed up on Sunday at exactly 10 am as I had requested. The 6 vanilla cupcakes were done but the 6 red velvet cupcakes were cooling because they were to hot to decorate. How are they to HOT if they were supposed to be ready. They only gave me 5 red velvet because they did not have enough. How in the freaking world do they not have enough?! It was pre- ordered, the cupcakes should have ready. To complete my order of the velvet cupcakes, the 6th cupcake that was given was a disgusting pumpkin cupcake. So the cake was beautiful. That's all that it was beautiful. It was so bad to eat. As per the suggestion of the worker I ordered vanilla buttercream. The cake should have been buttercream, it must have been refrigerated from the day before. The buttercream had hardened, it was a chocolate cake with hard buttercream. The buttercream was not even good, tasted more like store bought hard icing. The cake was hardly touched because of the thick hard buttercream. No one liked the cake. $195 down the drain on this bad tasting cake. We picked up the cake at 10, it was in room temperature until 1230 when we cut it. It was still hard. A Supermarket cake would have tasted better and cost so much less. I was taken advantage and overpaid for garbage. This business needs to stick to cupcakes only. Their cakes are horrible. They need to learn to have the products that were paid for an event ready and in stock. I will never go back here again. This has been the worst business, go elsewhere. I really did not want my daughter to have any added sugar since she is so young so they actually created a custom cake recipe which was sweetened by only applesauce and bananas. I reached out to many bakeries and they were the only ones who were happy to accommodate for a minimal change in price. I had my 30th birthday cake made at Half Baked Co for: 10/21/2017. It was a one tiered pumpkin cake, covered in buttercream with black fondant horizontal stripes, with gold stripes in the center, with a pink peony on top. The ordering process was a breeze. Natalie and I exchanged e-mails back and forth to discuss the theme, cost, design, etc. She was very knowledgeable and very kind! Customer service was excellent! I eventually settled on the design and received my quote. The cost was acceptable for what I wanted ($295 approx). We then arranged for a cake tasting, for which the cost of such would apply to the cake balance. I went by the bakery and tasted about 9 flavor combinations (of mini cupcakes) and absolutely fell in LOVE with the pumpkin spice flavor. It was delicious!! The cake was very moist and flavorful, and the frosting was sweet! On the day of my party, my bf picked up the cake and it was sealed tightly and meticulously. My cake turned out beautifully! It was decorated perfectly! (I am highly picky and a perfectionist and it passed my test). My guests loved my cake. Very disappointing. We ordered a half dozen regular cupcakes and a half dozen allergen free. They delivered all 12 in one container and didn't mark whiich ones were allergen free. Even if they had... they put them in the same container so cross contamination definitely occurred! Our guest who can't have gluten or eggs was left with no dessert at our event.
