Disappointing service and disappointing food. Service involved having to ask several times for items. We asked twice for bread after every other table appeared to have theirs. The 2 in our party who had soup had to ask for spoons. The one who had steak had to ask for a steak knife. One family member had to ask 3 different staff members for another beer. Re the food the fried Brussel sprouts were delicious. The soups were lukewarm and really should have been sent back. The crab cakes were cool. They were big but there was little lump crab in there. The medium rare steak was like leather. It's a nice clean restaurant with a good range of foods. However if you're looking for good food with good service you'll probably be a little disappointed like we were. read more

My husband and I have been here several times now. Each time we have had different complaints mostly about the quality of food and the service. One time we went and our lobster eggs Benedict came out without the eggs and a small piece of lobster. The tuna bites are small and overpriced. We are from North Jersey NYC area where we tend to be food snobs and I thought this place on on par with some of my favorites up north. They did an excellent job designing and decorating the place (top notch). Our waitress could have been a bit friendlier but that didn't take away from the excellent food. We could have gone anywhere this weekend and came back twice! Go up to the 2nd floor bar- Make sure Mitchell is working he'll take great care of you... I love getting old school customer service from people. Though young this guy was fantastic and even gave us soem great ideas on the menu! This place has it all when it comes to dining. I really wanted to like this place. It's very loud and a bit stark. The drinks were very good. Had the truffle risotto and the flavor was good but the rice wasn't cooked through. Average food. Loud dining area. Lively bar area. My scallops...chewy and one was even a bit "fishy" so returned to the kitchen for replacement. My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised last night by this place for our first time there. We walked in last night and it was crowded by the bar and no hostess so i was already like let's go somewhere else.. but then we walked up stairs and sat at the bar there and had a great experience! Our bartender Maureen was the sweetest person and gave us great recommendations on what to order which was the prime rib panini which was awesome. We had a great conversation. Salmon first time arrived well done and dried out, second time raw, didn't wait for a 3rd time. Fried chicken, thick breading and crisp but no flavor. No clue why this place gets more than 2 stars. My husband and I really enjoy coming here for lunch. I love the Caesar Salad with blackened shrimp. We just shared the mac and cheese with short ribs. AMAZING! Couldn't stop saying how good it was as we were eating. My son loves the Pork Belly appetizer. Shrimp cocktail is also wonderful. The bar tenders have always been personable and fun. The outside space is fun too, although those chairs really need to be replaced as they aren't comfortable. You can't really lean back because the backs are tilted in an odd way. Other than that the dirty martinis are always good, decent wine choices too. New beers are always on the menu. All in all one of our favorite spots. UPDATE just reduced to 3 stars. Lunch on Saturday ordered a Caesar salad. When the salad came out it was lacking in lettuce. Like a side salad amount of lettuce. I had to send it back to ask for more lettuce because this is a main course salad. If you're skimping on lettuce that's a bad sign.The shrimp were not hot as if they were sitting around. So they had to remake the salad. Went there again today (Sunday) for lunch and had the same salad. Same amount of skimpy lettuce hardly any on the plate and the shrimp were mediocre, as if they sat in the window a long time. It took forever to get our lunch, there were four people in our party. Every time someone left, the front door slammed so hard we all jumped out of our seats. Terrible. The door needs to be corrected. The waiter was smug and arrogant. When we told him we would need separate checks he looked at my husband like "so what I could care less". Very odd. Normally the wait staff is very kind and professional. Slowly becoming one of our less favorite spots. Maybe there's just a glitch and this is not going to be a continuous problem with the food and the door noise and the attitude. read more

Just keeps missing and three strikes your out. We were seated in front room along back wall underneath very bright high hat lights. Had a great waiter and asked if they could be possibly dimmed. He said absolutely, but had to check with manger (who we never saw). When he came back to take our order said manager would not dim the lights. Strike 1. He then informed us they were completely out of the Prime Rib special (it was only 6:30PM). He said Monday is the special night and they always run out early. Strike 2. After we decided on different entrees, the food runners brought out the salads we had ordered, and the entrees at the same time. I asked why they didn't bring the salads first, and of course they had no idea. Strike 3. Really want to try and like this place, but consistently misses the mark. read more

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. My wife and kids have been here about a dozen times with only one issue ( two overcooked filets which were immediately replaced)and then we were comped dessert. We have had a variety of good meals and the staff is always accommodating to our at times unruly children. read more

Stopped in for lunch here for the first time. I had the salad topped with a burger and it was great, the burger done perfectly, med rare. I'm eating low carb and it's hard to find a place that has this on the menu, so HMP gets bonus points for that. They had a good craft draft beer selection too, so I was very happy. Service was very good too. The interior is nicely designed, modern looking, with a nice fireplace. Recommend giving it a try. read more

This restaurant has the potential for being really good. We have been here a few times. So the atmosphere is consistently comfortable but noisy and the drinks are good (cosmos are a bit weak). One time we came the waiter was inexperienced and awful, my food was very very salty, one entree was cold...always very noisy! Clean up the details and this will be as great as Willies! When you go out to eat you usually spend your hard earned money on good food and the experience. Tonight I came here with a girlfriend of mine. I had ordered grilled chicken, Brussel sprouts, truffle mac n cheese, and buffalo chicken dip. I had sent the Mac n cheese back because it was dry and you couldn't even taste the truffle. I work at a restaurant that actually sells good truffle mac n cheese so I do know the difference. The Brussel sprouts were so greasy. The buffalo chicken dip was not spicy, and was just mediocre. Everything was horrible from the butter to the entrees. I wish I could get my money back for this horrible experience. I will definitely not be spending my money here again. read more

we are locals and the 4 of us decided to try half moon point, 2 of us ordered the lobster special, sounded good but not what we were served. the dinner was served with hot cherry peppers which changed the entire taste of the meal, the hot flavor captivated the noodles which were sparse. The scallops and salmon dinner were fair. the service was good and nicely decorated but very loud. the manager was supposed to visit us but never arrived. I so wanted to love our experience tonight. Just got home from HMP from our first visit there. We arrived at 7:00 on a Tuesday.Got a table within 15 minutes. Had a round of drinks and ordered our meal (wrap and salad). One hour later...still sitting there with empty glasses and no food. Now it is almost 8:20 and we ask the waitress to pack up our food because now it has been an hour and a half and we need to pick up our kids! I ordered the lobster fennel salad...was starving and opened it up at home to devour--no brie, no salad dressing and no pistachios. My husband's wrap and fries were fine. We will try again but HMP definitely needs more wait staff and more kitchen help. Best of luck. read more
