I just found the cutest and coziest restaurant in Point Pleasant! The Cookie Lady Cafe is the place to be for homey vibes and delicious food! And if you're looking for something fun to do, every Wednesday night they open up their doors with a special menu to have trivia night hosted by Quizzaholics! My boyfriend and I had such a great time getting competitive and investing ourselves through each round to answer each question. There's awesome prizes for the winners! Their pancakes were like a a warm hug on a plate. They were thin and golden and lightly buttered with the right hint of sweetness. We added chocolate chips to ours and they added the cutest little powdered sugar flower design on them. The cheesesteak was monstrous in size. The gooey cheese and tender meat made this a great savory meal. The wings were sauced to perfection! Each wing had tons of meat and made the perfect appetizer. The hot honey chicken sandwich was a solid choice. The coleslaw on the sandwich really complimented the kick from the hot honey! Service was so friendly and attentive. I really wanted to like this place. It wasn't quite what I expected. It's on the corner at a traffic light, you have to be careful or you will you miss it. The door is a screen door, with a solid wooden door behind it to get in. It's kind of rustic, a small dining area with a long counter. On Sunday Dec 21st I met my ex here for a late breakfast, early lunch around noon. It was fairly busy, but I was able to sit down immediately. The staff seemed very nice, very kind. I asked the waitress what she recommended. I went with her recommendation of a build your own omelette turned into a quesadilla. She said it would be very filling. It came with diced breakfast potatoes which were decent, served very hot, the way I like it. Unfortunately they had no sour cream to go with a quesadilla, not a big deal. The problem with this dish was there was very little sausage and almost no cheese. A quesadilla should be real cheesy to hold it together that would have kept all the egg from falling out. It wasn't very filling. I had to use a lot of ketchup as glue, it kind made things worse. My ex had an avocado toast with egg and topped with greens and she chose garlic aïoli dressing. She seemed to like it. The other diners seemed happy with their meals. I saw a lot of cute beignets and breakfast bowls, and delicious looking toast. The coffee was cold, and not to my liking. The waitress did heat it up for me in the microwave, but I did not get a refill. If I'm ever in the area again or passing by at the right time, I might give it another shot and try something different on the menu. read more

Easy to find, decent parking. Went around 11:30 for brunch and found it to be semi-busy. My husband loved his stacked French toast with a side of honey bacon, and I almost fell off the bench when I received 4 HUGE fried chicken fillets over a Belgium waffle, dressed with hot honey. It was delicious, and I shared a generous amount of the chicken! The young man manning the front end was incredibly busy the entire time we were there, but remained polite and attentive. The chef? I've visited the Cookie Lady for breakfast many times over the last 5 years. Admittedly, I'm only in the Point Pleasant area on summer weekends. I visited today for brunch and suspect it has changed ownership. Different staff and different (not improved) quality of food and service. I ordered eggs Benedict and asked to start with a fruit salad. The eggs and fruit were served together and I didn't get home fries. The eggs weren't so much poached as they were hard-boiled and were hit with a drop of hollandaise sauce - literally. The primary server also seemed largely disinterested. Okay my bad indeed! I've been going to the Cookie Lady now for six years at least weekly and sometimes twice a week for breakfast. I have taken it for granted for sure. Cute little ambience including an outside grotto in the summer provided by Christine the owner. Sorta reminds you of a fifties dinner on the inside. If you sit outside be sure to say hello to Butter Nuts the resident feline, he's a ginger boy. Now for the grub - very decent eggs, omelets, scramblers and what not but my favorite is their link sausage, one of the very best around and their buttermilk pancakes, which can be had with real maple syrup. BTW always fresh squeezed OJ on hand if you so desire and of course a decent bottomless cup of Joe. Best part of the deal - You can't spend more that $15 bucks for two before tip if you try. Forget those many high priced joints around that now cost an arm and leg just for a simple breakfast meal. Have family that just recently moved to the area and they suggested we try The Cookie Lady's Cafe for breakfast on a recent visit. The outdoor seating area is so quaint! My daughter said it reminded her of Butterbeans Cafe (a show on Nickelodeon...definitely a win in our book!). The food was very good. Their bacon was crispy and didn't have a lot of fat. They also gave you a fair amount...enough that I was willing to share a piece with my daughter. We ordered the kids pancake for her with fresh strawberries. They are baked into the batter. We would have preferred them on top. Now we know for next time. Prices are reasonable. Three of us had breakfast, two coffees, a fresh OJ and a kids apple juice came to $35 before tip. We will be going back next time we are down in Point Pleasant! read more

Obsessed. The Cookie Lady is the cutest little breakfast/lunch spot. It only has 7 tables and a small countertop area to sit, so I imagine it may be tough to get a spot especially on the weekend, but the smaller space added to the charm. It's the kinda place where you walk in and everyone there looks up and smiles. Can we get more of that in this world? The food was also delicious...we had the fried chicken & waffle benedict and pumpkin pancakes. I'm fairly certain that everything on the menu would be just as good. Best breakfast deal in the area. I've driven past here literally hundreds of times and never thought to stop in, figuring it was a cookie shop. I just recently discovered that it's really a breakfast /lunch place. This is the type of great little hole-in-the-wall that "the locals go". It is unpretentiously hip, in the way that true nerds are. When you walk in, it is as if you've stepped back in time to a "50s" diner, complete with round counter stools (several of which have been amateurishly reupholstered) and a window air-conditioner. They are really not trying to be "retro", as, for example, that regrettable chain Johnny Rockets is. Rather, it appears that the Cookie Lady just never saw the value in spending money to re-do a perfectly functional interior. Of course, the wheel had turned full-circle several years ago. "Old" is now "retro" and considered "chic". The food here pretty basic fare, solid, fresh, and well executed.. As evidence of their commitment to quality, you'll find *REAL maple syrup* (for a whopping 75¢ extra) available, as well as fresh squeezed orange juice for example. What you're not going to find here are things like acai bowls, wheatgrass juice or cauliflower pancakes. Like the decor, the food is reminiscent of the heyday of the great American diners. There is virtually nothing on the menu that wouldn't have been recognized in the 1950s. I've had two meals here so far, a Double Decker Club Sandwich and Eggs Benedict. Neither dish deviated one iota from their classic versions. The Club was fresh turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato, with mayo on two levels between three slices of white toast, served some very good coleslaw. That's it! If I order a club sandwich, that's exactly what I want, not the latest brain fart from a short order cook. Ditto for the Eggs Benedict. Poached eggs and Canadian bacon on an English muffin, covered with homemade Hollindaise sauce, served with home fries. Keeping it simple. I did have two issues however. The Hollindaise could have had more lemon juice and it wasn't completely emulsified. In addition the home fries were luke warm. Other than that, it was a solid dish. Classics, whether it's music, literature, or food, are classic for a reason, they're timeless. They'll be listening to the Beatles, reading A Tale of Two Cities, and eating Eggs Benedict a hundred years from now. Granted, the food doesn't have the panache of the Buttered Biscuit in Belmar. On the other hand, breakfast here won't cost you almost as much as a dinner. As I stated this is the best deal in the area.The prices are also apparently retro. Good solid food at a very fair price. In fact, I can't really see spending much over $10 per person, for breakfast or lunch, even if you go full tilt. read more

Called in an order for pickup and got the stuffed French toast with a side of bacon as well as a full stack of chocolate chip pancakes. The stuffed French toast was cinnamon raisin bread with a cream cheese and walnut filling. It was very good! Not to mention the bacon was extra crispy. My boyfriend also enjoyed his pancakes, which was a large portion for the price we paid. All in all I would definitely return here, but I think the food would be better if I ate in the restaurant. read more

Thanks to Yelp reviews I found this place & had a wonderful breakfast this morning with my daughter. We noted a beautiful outdoor area to eat but with the blistering heatwave we're experiencing I opted for indoors. Note to self, return when it's not so blasted hot & eat outside! When we walked in the place was full. We were literally greeted by the entire staff with a "Good Morning", WOW! Don't get that often! I knew I was going to like this place. We were told by the owner (presumably) there would be about a 15 minute wait. Ok by us as we had all day. In the interim she was very personable & welcoming. We were seated in just about that time frame. A very personable waitress promptly came to our table & told us of the specials for the day, one of which was the Crabby Benny (please take no offense) which was crab cake eggs benedict. I opted for a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice as well. My meal came with a side of hash browns & I thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter opted for the choc chip pancakes w a side of home fries which she enjoyed as well. This was a nearly flawless breakfast. The only negatives I have are, 1) my orange juice came over ice. I don't think I've ever had orange juice served over ice before so I never thought to tell our waitress to skip the ice. To me, that just dilutes the fresh squeezed orange juice. I'm sure I could have sent it back but opted to just suck it up. 2nd, some of the home fries were sliced so thin they were a bit hard to chew. 3rd, a serrated knife would have made the english muffin easier to cut. My pork roll sandwich (a Jersey thing) was not what I had in mind- and that could have been the fault of the one reading the note I wrote to the waiter...ahem. Staying at a hotel in Point Pleasant and saw this place along the way. I called in my order, arrived about 15 minutes later and drove back to the hotel. The food was decent, not much to mess up as we ordered an egg scramble platter and pancakes and an iced coffee. Got back to my hotel and noticed there was no coffee, no utensils, no napkins, no ketchup, anything. By the time I was able to go find the things I needed locally the food was ice cold with no way to heat it. It's my fault partly for not checking the bag but maybe a little more attention to detail from the restaurant would have helped. Still annoyed that I had no coffee and tipped $7 for a phone order. read more
