Well I don't know just how to put it any planer than this. I was really in the mood for oyster! When she asked me what I wanted I said just what your famous for and she said something other than oyster and that should have gave me some idea on what I was going to get. Now I don't believe something was done on purpose but I believe it was a normal thing and that's not good either because the first dozen I got were great I could not have made them better myself and I should have stopped right there and been on my way and this would have been a completely different review but no my enjoyment got me to want more. I ordered another dozen and they were terrible and I was so disappointed. My waitress asked how they were and I explained an she offered to replace them but I couldn't eat any more so I decided to try to eat a dessert to make up for what I didn't like and I ordered the bread pudding. Oh my goodness, I was given something that had been cooked a long time ago and very hard had some type of sweet sugar glaze of some kind with no taste. I could not eat it either. Now I not big on tipping bad food but she seem to be honest with her attempt to care. I would have to tell her she would have gotten more if the food had been better. Excellent restaurant in downtown Biloxi. We were in town for a soccer tournament and decided to give this place a try. Joined the waitlist on Yelp and we were seating shortly after arriving at the establishment. Our server Nick was GREAT! He gave several great recommendations to help us decide what to order as we had never visited the restaurant. We started with the shrimp and crab dip which is served warm and was well liked by everyone at the table. My son and I both had the Redfish Orleans which was EXCELLENT! We both thoroughly enjoyed it as it was served with a very flavorful cajun butter sauce topped with shrimp and crab. My husband had the Royal Redfish which has more of a cream sauce and he preferred the taste of his as he isn't a big fan of spicy things. My daughter LOVED her fried shrimp and especially the fries! We loved all the sides. Both the cheese grits, sweet potatoes and the hush puppies were favorites of mine and as I mentioned already, my 17 year old daughter loved the French fries...lol. If you are ever in the area, I would highly recommend you give this place a try. We were sad that we were too full for desserts as we heard they are amazing as well. read more

Restaurant was very nice and set up beautifully. I had the Shrimp and Grits and it wasn't my favorite but still pretty good! The sides that we had were stellar! Good salads and the brûlée sweet potato was so delicious it was the perfect balance of sweetness and was almost dessert like. We stoped in Friday afternoon al little before 4:00pm on August 8th. Worst experience we have ever had here. We sat in the bar in front of the shuckers as we normally do. We were greeted promptly and given menus. We ordered two waters a sangria and an old fashion. The service was prompt and friendly at the beginning. Stephanie the day bartender was as friendly as always. She was ending her shift. We ordered a dozen oysters, well done. The male bartender, I don't recall his name got us our drinks a bit slow, but prepared nicely. We waited much longer than normal for our oysters. There were only a couple orders of oysters on the grill at any given time our entire visit. Our oysters were mostly very small and undercooked to our request. There is no way to return oysters as you eat them so we did not say anything. We did reorder an old fashion and it was about ten minutes before we received it. The bartender was busy chatting with customers and just moving slow. Having worked in the restaurant industry my husband and I both understand the importance of getting your guest what they ask for as soon as possible. The very loud gentleman next to me ordered a drink after us but was served before us. The bartender never asked us how our food was. My husband had to flag him down to get the second drink. What really bothered us was the shucker that was on shift about five minutes before four pm. He was complaining loudly that the person that was supposed to be coming in was almost late. When the shucker came into the bar area it was about 4:04 pm. The shucker on duty started giving the other guy crap about being late. The loud shucker was also having a lot of conversation with the man next to me about gambling and also the the shucker that came in (late) was not a very smart person and not as smart as him. The loud shucker was continuously on his phone and not washing his hands. Very unprofessional and gross. I found it very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The loud shucker was talking about how many trays he does versus the other shucker on duty. This experience was so different than our last experience at the Half Shell Gulfport a couple of weeks ago at the shucker bar that was absolutely amazing! I'll post about that later. Normally when you are seated in front of the shuckers they ask you what size oysters you prefer and how they tasted after being served. No one asked us how our oysters were. Very disappointing. Overall it was not a great experience. In the future we will take our casual Half Shell experience to the Gulfport location. I do hope that this review makes its way to management. The shuckers at this location need training in customer service, presentation and overall restaurant etiquette. I'm sure we will be back for brunch or lunch at some point. We will most likely limit our shucker bar visit to day shift. read more

As part of my road trip I had spotted this place and thought I'd give it a try. I am very happy that I made the effort as it was well worth it. The atmosphere was casual to mid-upscale. The service was excellent. I knew I wanted some oysters and I decided to have raw on the half shell. These were some of the best I've ever had. These were like butter. I wasn't sure how much of a dinner I was going to want after the oysters, but I figured I could bring leftovers back to my room. I ordered the Redfish Orleans with two sides; the half shell salad and cheddar grits. I feel odd to say this, but the salad was to die for. The tomato was fresh, and the avocado and sliced almonds added to the flavor. The standard vinaigrette that comes on the salad was excellent. The redfish was just the right portion size. It was excellent with lots of good flavor. Paired with the cheddar grits, I was in heaven. Maybe I was just hungry from a long day on the motorcycle, the Half Half Shell Oyster House nailed it or both, but it was a 10/10 for me. read more

Always a solid choice for great service and food. Self parking is a short distance away. Any of the chargrilled oysters apps are a good starting point. My go to dinner entree favorite is the Seafood Pot Pie which comes with 2 sides. The sweet potato is awesome along with either the half shell salad w/ house dressing or the new potatoes. I have also tired the Filet Mignon Orleans and the grilled fish entrees which are also very good. You really can't go wrong with Half Shell, they are a solid choice in Biloxi. Enjoy! read more

I split a dozen oysters with my dad. The oysters were the biggest we'd had in a while and very flavorful. I had the boiled royal reds. I had never had this type of shrimp before and I very much enjoyed them. They had the texture of crawfish with a sweetish flavor like lobster.
