Very convenient spot to get food in Hattiesburg. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was good, lots of food however I think that the thing that was lacking was the chicken. It was a bit more on the cold and dry side. Very cheesy and wasn't as saucy as I'd like. OMG! This is the worst take out from Half Shell. I sat in the line for pick up for 30 minutes after I went in twice asking about the order. I was finally offered to see the manager by the second Hostess. Yes, my order was there and ready for pick up. Now that I am home looking at everything, it is not what was ordered. We are missing items and some of what we do have is cold. When the server brought my order to me I was told it was because they were "slammed". It did not looked "slammed" to me. However, keep in mind, if you order the charbroiled oysters, they're likely to shrink to be so small there's hardly anything there to eat. The charbroiled oysters are included in the sampler platter. The crab shrimp appetizer dip is also quite tasty. You'll note from the picture below slightly toasty slices of bread accompany the dish. The shrimp dish is called the Royal reds entrée. It is 1 pound of Cajun seasoned shrimp served with melted butter, lemon, and seasonings. It is a substantial and welcome offering. these are large shrimp about the length of the blade of a steak knife. Overall, this is a fabulous place to eat. We had a great date night out here! It was a packed Saturday but service was still accommodating. We went to the bar to order a drink and appetizer while we waited for a table which didn't take long. Service was great at the bar and carried on the rest of our dinner. Our waitress even helped us out by picking up money my husband dropped and giving it to him. Their Top shelf margarita is soooo good. I usually don't want more than one margarita but this one, I just want to drink all night. But can't do that because they do put good quality tequila in it. We always get the fried green tomatoes, just so delicious. It is more on the tangy side. I don't know if the sauce has horseradish in it, but has a little bite to it. But I love it. The oysters are just delicious! They subbed some out for me because I wasn't big on the spinach ones but that's personal preference. My favorite was whichever one had Parmesan on it. My main entry was the Royal Redfish. I picked it instead of the New Orleans redfish because I was especially hungry and the Royal fish had Cajun potatoes and asparagus plus a side. Arrived around 2:30 p.m. , maitre d & waitress were nice & well groomed & knowlegeable & receptive . Ordered an appetizer of crab & shrimp dip with french toast /bread that had shells in it that I had to spit out as I ate it , bread was stale & cold & hard , bottom plate was hot that the bowl sat on but the contents in the bowl was cold to luke warm at best . What we ordered for a entre was hot but average at best . What I couldn't get over was how nasty & dirty the place was , the flooring ,bathroom , lighting fixures with dust on them , window ledges , black looking dirt or grease up next to the walls facer boards & shoe mold & floor tile , around the piping at the bar . Place looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped or cleaned in months . Next to our table next to the wall across from us was some broccolli ground into the floor that was dryed like a dead dog on a highway like it had been laying there for awhile . we were seated at the table next to the patio door where the door entrance to the patio had loose or missing tile on the floor . When we went to wash our hands at the restroom after our meal I went left from our table & wound up into a storage area that was disorganized & filthy , when I finally made it to the restroom found it to be dirty & nasty wreaking of the spell of urine like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile , in the women's restroom my wife said the toilet handle wouldn't flush where the chain must have come a loose . This place needs to be shutdown for a major cleaning & renovations ,if I was the owner I woud hire some full time help to sweep , mop & clean when this place is not in operations other than your staff & servers . If I was a health inspector I would shut it down & give it a D plus on lack of cleanliness due to the filth . As they say cleanliness is next to Godliness . I want be back 1st & last time , don't care how good the food is can't stand the filth & nastiness , no excuse . Health inspector's that inspect the restaurant's in Hattiesburg need to start doing their job , this is not the only place in Hattiesburg that needs attention . If you want to see clean restrooms go to Kohl's department store in Hattiesburg , no it's not in the food industry , their restrooms are immaculately clean & you could eat off the floors . I always said if I ever see the people who clean these restroom's at Kohl's , I can only speak for the men's restroom but would bank on it that the women's restroom is just as clean as the men's I would give them a 20 dollar tip & tell them what a fantastic job they were doing . read more

I'm not impressed with this location. I've been to other locations closer to Birmingham and even the one in Biloxi and I've had good experiences at those. The Hattiesburg location just seems so chainy. The restroom always has a very off putting smell, service is subpar, and food just isn't the best. I was even served a very RAW shrimp/crab cake that was part of the specials, where the shrimp was still blue. We were so fortunate to have this restaurant, recommended to us by a professor at the University of Southern Mississippi. Great food and great prices! My wife loved her pecan and bacon crusted red fish. She had the sweet potato brumlee which was delicious! Her cheese grits were okay, at best. I had a great redfish dish with lump crab, Parmesan cheese, and shrimp in a Cajun sauce. It was excellent! My turnup greens and fried okra were also very good. All of these are dishes that are hard to find in Las Vegas. It is not a quiet restaurant, but it does have a nice ambience about it. We enjoyed watching sporting events on the large TVs. This time I went, our food and drinks were taking forever. They weren't busy at all, and I think the waiter was new. I had to repeatedly ask for sauce and napkins, and he kept forgetting. The steaks were pretty bland, but the other food items we ordered were delicious. We had also gotten raw, chargrilled, & Rockefeller oysters, crab claws, seafood gumbo, and redfish. From THE FRESH, HOT FOOD TO THE FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVER we were very pleased. We started off with something different this time as an app - the steak quesadilla...It was really good. Then I ordered my favorite, the Orleans Redfish with the sweet potato scuffle and fried okra and it was seasoned to perfection. My guy ordered the fried shrimp, and they were awesome.
