Great place to stop eat. Food is good and friendly service. They have a little bit everything to choose from.

We take this road to the coast regularly and have commented every time we pass Halfway that we should try it. So we did! It was around 2 on a cold, rainy Saturday and we were the only people there. It is a restaurant/quick stop market in one and has roughly 6 interior booths for dining in (not including the nice covered outdoor area). It has a great homestyle feel, everything is worn and local. We ordered a cheeseburger and the southwestern cheeseburger. You can hear your food being made on the other side of the dividing wall. So we definitely knew our food wasn't sitting around, it was very fresh and hot. I sub'd my regular fries for tots but please know I don't think tots are a regular menu item. The server made sure to check with the kitchen when I ordered that they had them, as they were listed as a substitute side for one of the specials on the blackboard menus. The burgers were good, classic and well done. The SW one has jalapenos, grilled onions and the menu says green chiles but seemed more like a slice of grilled green pepper. I think the grilled pepper somewhat downplays the rest of the burger, I could have done without it upon reflection. I think it would have helped the flavor. But the fries/tots were cooked just right and the service was nice and quick. Probably helped we were the only people there but still. Additional note - the restroom is for paying customers only, though you can pay a fee to use it. It is accessed on the outside of the building by key and it is not heated/part of the central building so is quite cold! But was well maintained and clean.

We drove in from Florence to the Halfway Cafe, located right next to the Walton store midway between Florence and Eugene on Hwy. 126. The restaurant was recently re-opened by owners who have created a down home style vibe with food to match. We went for breakfast. I had a wonderful housemade corned beef hash with two eggs and hash browns. My friends ordered French toast and a half order of biscuits and gravy, also made in house. Everything was tasty. Big portions. I took half of mine home. I am looking forward to returning to try lunch and dinner offerings, including the prime rib dinner special on Friday nights!!

My husband & I love this place. The service is always great and the food is wonderful. If you like homemade chili, this is the place. I've heard all their in- house soups are wonderful (particularly their clam chowder, although I'm allergic to seafood and can't eat it myself). Friday night prime rib dinners are $18 and come with a (choice of ) potato and include sauted vegetables, a large salad and dessert. Hamburgers are made with the best quality of fresh ground beef, not the frozen patties so many cafes use. If you ar heading through Walton, Oregon don't miss this little gem of a place.

Our breakfast.. 3 HUGE pancakes... chicken fried steak scramble.. soooo good!

I said we went there with our grandkids. Not knowing it was inside the casino was a little overwhelming. But we were hungry and hot, and hoped for the best. It was actually a really good experience. The staff seated us immediately, and didn't turn their nose up at our family with a toddler and a baby. Luckily, it was mid day and we had the room pretty much to ourselves. The wait staff quickly delivered drinks and special ordered chocolate milk for the toddler. She even brought extra napkins without asking as if she knew what to expect! Our order was taken quickly and the food, as is the norm in a casino, came fast and was delicious. The Mac and cheese worked best for our grandkids, of course. My hubby had fish and chips. Two pieces of fish and a huge stack of fries. My DIL had the spicy chicken sandwich. It wasn't as spicy as you'd expect, and was served dry. But that was actually our preference. My son had a huge burger which he loved, and I had the slider flight. Three sliders are served, of which you can mix and match from spicy shrimp and coleslaw, pulled bbq pork, or American cheeseburger. I tried one of each. The shrimp was my favorite and this time it was spicy. The pulled pork was served with a sweet bbq sauce which was a nice blend. The cheeseburger....meh. it was overcooked and dry. Thankfully it was just a slider though. I'd recommend the other two options if you try this dish. I'm not sure it's a place we'll bring our grandkids to on purpose again, but in a pinch, on a hot day after hours of driving, it did a pretty amazing job.

Ice cream came before my food, I mentioned I would be driving so to get the ice cream in a bowl (which I did) but it was a hot day and since I was waiting for my meal, I had to eat my ice cream first. So I was a bit full when my meal came The cheeseburger was really good, I was happy with it! The steak fries lacked seasoning, like there was none on the fries, so I ate a few then got over it. The jalapeño poppers were the same, nothing great, I ate one then tossed them. The ranch I added to my meal looked promising, it was thick, so thick that you couldn't dip your food into it, you had to scoop it, also lacked flavor. The ice cream was the big winner, I'll stop by just for that, not the food so much,

A burger is $7 bucks the no fries, that's another 3.25, which if you think about - it's still WAY cheaper than McDonald's. And it's fresh, not frozen. The ice cream and shakes were delicious. The food was delicious. The ladies were courteous and the service was great- considering there's only a few of them working. You can sit in their shaded patio and enjoy. Con: No bathroom. So go before you head here. Maybe put a few port-o-John's and it'll be great. Overall- I'd come back if in the area.
