I never tried how good their work is but I am pretty disappointed at the inquiry process. We sent over the txt with the picture that we think it may be termite. He replied us said it maybe the termite and we are talking about schedule an apt. James Hall told us they have apt open on next week then ask where we located. Once he knew where we located he said he is all full which is within 10-20mins. Later when I ask why he got book up so fast then he said he didn't provide the service at the area. I believe the simplest thing is just reply u don't service at the area instead of said u fully book! It sounds so stupid! read more

All I can say is based on my experience, you can confidently believe every 5-star Yelp rating out here for Hall Brothers. Since they have been deemed an 'essential' business during this COVID scare, I was happy to know that we could get our issue addressed in a timely manner. James and his team were absolutely fantastic in taking care of our subterranean termite issue after a Sunday-afternoon swarm that entered the house left us dazed and confused. James personally came out to do the inspection (I told him that he was the second company quoting on the job) and he patiently and thoroughly explained our issue, our options and the timeframe that the work would take. No pressure, no hard sell, no "let's-get-you-set-up-on-a-monthly-maintenance-plan" pitch and definitely some very good advice on what our issue was and wasn't. He identified some other issues while under the house (we know that we have some other uninvited little critters down there from time to time) and he provided a referral to another local business who does that work as Hall Bros does not. I appreciated that, for sure. His quote came via email shortly thereafter with a text message letting me know that the ball was in our court and that I should reach out if we want to go forward. No pressure at all, just good follow-up. Even though they were hitting a busy time of the season -- with a combination of rain and warmer weather -- we were able to schedule the appointment within a week (thankfully, we had beat back the swarm on that eventful Sunday and we hadn't seen any more activity since) and these guys showed up, geared up, laid down their protective plastic on the floor and got busy. They (James, Taylor and Sebastian) communicated well throughout the work and they finished in a couple of hours. Then they cleaned up and were on their way. I heard a statistic yesterday that 48% of the US workforce is employed by small businesses; Hall Brother Termite Service is definitely one of the small businesses that we should continue to patronize rather than the enormo-termite services as they are part of our community (Novato) and have been doing it for years. They provide a 5-year warranty on the work that they do and I would like to see them in business for many, many years to come. I began using Hall Bros when I first purchased my house in 1989. Back then, the company was owned by the Steve Hall. Steve is now retired and Hall Bros. is now run by James Hall, his son. James Hall continues to maintain the highly ethical and quality service that Hall Bros. is known for. About every 5 years or so, I ask Hall Bros. to come out to inspect the underside of my house for termites and also for moisture problems. I've had them replace rotted posts under the house, spray for mold and they also installed a moisture barrier for me, several years ago. Most recently, James Hall came out to do an inspection for me. He identified a couple of plumbing leaks, replaced a 2-3 of rotted posts and he dug out the sump holes for a couple of old sump pumps and got them up and running again. James and his brother-in-law (a licensed general contractor) were also able to replace some rotted support beams in the front of my house plus some rotted siding. James is one of the most honest and professional people I've ever dealt with and I truly can not say enough good things about him. My house had a localized termite infestation around the bathroom window. I received quotes from multiple exterminators however most of them either 'found' termite infestations where the did not exist, tried to upsell expensive preventive services or were not willing to do a comprehensive treatment (e.g. one of them said that they will only treat from inside of the house). I picked Hall bros based on the reasonable quote and an honest assessment of what is needed. The treatment they did was very comprehensive with multiple injection points from inside and outside. They even took of window baseboard that was severely damaged for better access. In addition I was pleasantly surprised that they accept credit cards for the payment. Most importantly now it has been a few months since the treatment and there are no signs of termite activity (knock on wood). read more

Pricing was reasonable especially given the distance to my home for an inspection and evaluation. He confirmed what I already knew (my home had termites) and pointed out some beetle infestation I was unaware of. After getting 4 bids from various companies I decided to hire Hall Bros to treat my dry wood termites. They did a excellent job explaining what they were doing. I highly recommend Hall Brothers. Our house had some fungus and termites and James Hall came by to do a very thorough inspection and treatment. Immediately after the inspection, James was able to draw up a report and estimate for us and then administer the treatment, all in the same visit. He was extremely diligent and thorough and we appreciated the extra care he took to keep our house clean after coming back in from the crawl space. We asked about scheduling regular, preventative services and he said the next one wouldn't be needed for two years! (I believe his competitors would have tried to sell us quarterly visits.) My first Yelp review, but it would be criminal not to give a shout-out to the fabulous Hall Brothers. Finding evidence of termites shortly before I was to leave the country for a month, I called one local company who came out and after a short inspection (the inspector declined to go under the house), I was given a reasonable estimate but told I had to have the work done immediately (and move the washer/dryer myself.) I called Terminix for a second inspection, which was far more thorough, though their estimate was much higher. But it didn't much matter because every attempt I made after that to get them on the phone failed. Amazing. With a week left, I called the Hall Brothers. James immediately returned my call, told me they were too busy to come out within the week, but he was obviously trying hard to accommodate me in whatever way possible. So I set a date for an inspection upon my return and another tentative one for the work itself. James made the most thorough inspection of all, matched the lowest estimate I'd been given, and he and Lowell did an absolutely thorough job of the (guaranteed) work and clean-up, and their attitude throughout the extensive labor was terrific. I told them at the end I wished I could call them for half a dozen other things I need done in my life. I recently had Hall Brothers install a 10 mil plastic moisture barrier for my crawlspace and I couldn't be happier. Their price was significantly better than the 2 other estimates that I got from other companies. This is a family-owned business and James Hall did a great job of always communicating with me when I called, being quick to follow up on e-mail and completed the job within a week of me first contacting him. I was happy that he was able to work with me in creating different options as far as pricing with 6 mil vs 10 mil and I chose the 10 mil to get a thicker moisture barrier. This raised red flags - as years ago we had electricians work underneath the same area - hard but not impossible.
