Supremely underwhelmed!! From the presentation to the taste, not good at all to me. I'm not sure if this is a Dallas thing or what but I've never seen wet pickles placed on top of crispy french fries, topped with bread, sliced pickled carrots and jalapeños all around fried chicken. Of course that means the fries were soggy and inedible. Additionally, the bird was tough as if it was not marinated before frying. I'm sorry but this was not a good experience for me. I went to Halls Chicken in Dallas for the first time a few days ago, and I've lived in Dallas for years. It's a small restaurant tucked away by a corner store with a drive thru. The line was long so that was a good sign. The drive thru was tricky at first but the service was fast and quick. The menu was easy to read and the customer service was friendly. I ordered the 2 piece dark with fries and tried the hot link. The food was delicious and hot. The hot link was really good!!! The guy at the window was really nice. This is now definitely one of my favorite chicken spots in DFW!! Edit : I also ordered all 3 of their signature dipping sauce and they were all good!! read more

Been to the Big D many times but never heard of this spot and I'm always on the lookout for a good chicken joint. I don't know the history of this joint but it reminds me of Rudy's here in Dallas. There was a couple of cars ahead of me but the wait to place my order wasn't long. I had my heart set on chicken and waffles but they were out of waffles due to a national shortage. While waiting in line I saw the impressive awards they had received displayed outside of the location. I could hardly wait to get home and eat ..I ordered a 5 piece mix for my family. It smelled so good in my vehicle! The chicken was golden, crunchy, and it tasted great! It had been a while since I'd eaten their chicken but it was just as good as it was before. The gal at my hotel had a shirt full of chicken grease and lips that glistened so bright that I knew she could tell me where to go. It's nestled in between a gas station and disgusting Denny's. In Dallas visiting and stopped by here because the place looks like a nice down home chicken place. Well, looks are deceiving! Please be warned that the chicken here is FLAVORLESS! They do have a prominent sign that says that they don't use seasoned salt. We asked about this and they said they just use regular salt. The service was fine and the chicken was hot, but it tasted like NOTHING! I'm not a big lover of salt at all, but this needed something to actually taste like chicken. After we bought the chicken, I remembered that we had tried this place on a previous trip and had forgotten about how bad it was. I wrote this review to remind myself to never return! read more

This has happened the Medical District and Red Bird locations. Raw and always undercooked chicken. Too many chances! They don't fry their chicken long enough. The skin is golden but the meat is raw. The only location that knows how to cook the chicken all the way through and season it is the one on Lancaster. This is what I got on 1/4/2023. *I ate the fries and 1 leg, was suspicious about the second leg, and this was the third leg. I have eaten Hall's and Henderson's since the 80's. I drove across town for this and by the time I made it home I didn't have it in me to drive 20 minutes back.
