    1) Stir-fried Vermicelli Noodle with spicy pork

Delicious Korean Food. Has changed owners and concept several times recently. It's now Korean Food and Sushi. Wish they would just stick to Korean food because there are a million mediocre sushi restaurants around. Used to be better but still good.

    Marinated chicken and japchae lunchbox

Went to HAMA Korean Cuisine for lunch on a Sunday. It used to be called Tofu House and it was OK then and it's about the same despite the name change. It's a small restaurant in a strip mall with it's own parking. They serve Korean food obviously. We placed our orders and the food came very quickly, less than 10 minutes. We got the beef bimbimbap in a hot stone bowl as well as marinated chicken lunch special with glass noodles. The beef bibimbap was good, it has a lot of meat and vegetables to mix with the gochujang and rice. The marinated chicken was a bit sweet for my liking. I wish they had kept it separate from the glass noodles (japchae) because the marinade made my noodles very sweet too. It's one of the few Korean restaurants in the area, but I would definitely rather go to one of the restaurants in Palisades Park if I had a craving for Korean food.

Happy to have tried this quick and casual Korean spot. The service was great and pretty swift. More importantly, food was excellent. We started with the soy garlic wings, came out super crispy and flavorful. For entrees, we got bibambap, tofu stew, spicy pork, and bulgogi. The highlights were bibambap and the spicy pork; portions were very generous. Loved the sauce over rice too! Overall very satisfied, would return!

#1 bulgogi lunch box with japchae. Everything you see was included with the meal.

We are visiting from California (Bay Area) for the holidays, so we know a thing or two about Asian foods, and had a craving for Korean. We were initially hesitant to try due to the limited options around Ramsey area. Boy, were we wrong! The food was fantastic! HAMA is a small establishment with limited seatings (dine early!), and somewhat small Korean menu, but with nice options! It has a mom-and-pop feel to it, so they make you feel welcomed. They also offer an array of sushi selections, as well. Unfortunately, we didn't order any sushi, so no reviews on that . We ordered the #1 bulgogi with japchae (glass noodles) lunch box; and soft tofu stew with tofu and veggies and rice. The lunch box came with more than we expected as you can see. Aside from the bulgogi and japchae, it came with 4 California rolls, tempura veggies, fish cakes, rice, and miso soup! The tofu stew was perfectly spiced and more: Plenty of veggies and flavor, and they are true to their spiciness level, as I got spicy. Excellent! In addition to this, the usual banchan (complimentary side dishes) were served alongside our meals. In California, it's common to have about 6-8 banchan; however, this restaurant serves only three: kimchi, pickled cucumbers, and sliced fish cakes (and salad). Depending on the establishment, the banchan can vary. Although this was a minor letdown, it was of no issue. Plenty of food for all! We had leftovers for another meal! Finally, we were so impressed with the food that we ordered another #1 bulgogi lunch box to go!!!! Even more food! We will come back one more time before we fly back home. Definitely recommend 5/5

My bulgogi across from my friend's bibimbap. This was a lunch feast!

Had a lovely lunch here on Wednesday with a friend. We had a great time catching up while enjoying some great food. We were quickly seated, and were brought water. It was a hot day so I appreciated that. My friend frequents this restaurant and the owner, Joanne, had a lovely conversation with her. She brought us kimchi and other sides, all of which were tasty and a great treat. I had the bulgogi and vermicelli noodles from the lunch menu, and my friend had bibimbap. Everything was delicious! The flavor combinations were incredible. We sat for close to 2 hours, talking and eating, and just having a wonderful time. I'm glad I was introduced to this spot, I am definitely adding it to my lunch favorites.

Food. Delicious. Doesn't look like much when you walk in, but the 4 of us each had something different. The service was good, the portions were generous, the food was hot and one more time. Delicious. The online menu seems weak, so you just have to go. Not the most comfortable seating but really good food. Byo.

    Stir fried vermicelli with beef

I have become a regular at HAMA since there's no comparable Korean restaurant within a 10 mile radius. The prices also are reasonable and there is a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant. Today I came in on a Monday night around 7PM and it was quite busy. Many families and groups came in all at once, but the staff was still incredibly quick and attentive. This time I remembered to take some pictures. I got the stir fried vermicelli with beef and my husband got the tofu soup. Everything was delicious as usual, but the kimchi was incredible this visit.

    Pajeon in pizza boxes

Love at first sight! I've never had such delicious pajeon (Korean pancakes). As a takeout pickup order, I got two of their famous pancakes - the vegetable version, which are happily vegan. I was so excited to receive them in personal pizza boxes (that's how huge they are!). It was of the best Korean food I've had, as well as some of the best vegan food I've had. They're listed as entrees and each costed $14.50, which I think is very fair, as they're very large, filling, and well-made. They also came with a sauce that tasted like tempura sauce (a bit lighter and tangier than soy sauce). The man who helped me when I arrived was also very sweet, and even offered me free banchan of fish cakes and kimchi! Neither are vegan, but neither is my fiancée, and we really appreciated Hama's generosity. The inside of the restaurant also looked lovely and clean. My one wish is that they'd add vegan nokdujeon / bindae-tteok (mung bean pancakes) to their menu. That would be dope. Anyway, I just moved to Ridgewood from Ridgefield, where I had access to a LOT of amazing Korean food, and I'm very impressed by Hama. It's definitely my new favorite local restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back to Hama. Thank you!

We decided to come here on a Saturday night, and I recommend making a reservation if they take it. We were lucky to get a table, as the restaurant is fairly small. Service is good, and food came out in a timely manner. The menu is easy to read and figure out what you like. The entrees come with the small sides, which were all delicious. We had bao buns as an appetizer and then my husband had the LA Kal bi and I had bulgogi as entrees. There was a lot of food, definitely enough to take home. Overall generally good service with a good meal, I think it would make good take out as well.

So happy to have finally found a GOOD Korean spot with authentic flavors in Bergen county. The service was really great here. The people are very friendly. The decor and ambiance was welcoming and place was pretty clean. We ordered veggie dumplings for app, crab meat bibimbap, bulgogi with vermicelli noodles lunch special and kalbi with vermicelli noodles lunch social. All dishes were really great. I highly recommend trying their bulgogi.

We ordered Uber Eats from here so this review is solely on delivery experience. Everything we got was underwhelming, including the kimchi. We had the fried chicken wings in soy garlic flavor and that was very crispy but the flavor was missing that sweet and garlic flavor and it was way too salty. We also had the spicy rice cake and the bulgogi and both were just ok. The bulgogi was way too sweet Perhaps the food is better in person but didn't really enjoy what we received.

Remotely located(a single building…read moreof its own)in Paramus, NJ, it always allows for a moment of relaxation whenever I visit here. Not so busy during weekdays or lunch time, but you may need to wait for a while for Saturday or Sunday dinner. Marinated Galbi and Rib-eye Steak are always solid choice, paired with lots of side dishes including doenjang/kimchi jjige and steamed egg. The service (specifically the larger dining area on the left) is superb. My family routinely has been visiting once a month for the past couple of years. Recently (Q1 in 2024), some meats were not as good as before, but I hope it was just one or two bad timing/ either not-enough marinated meat or quality of beef. Will visit again soon and I hope I can write a 5-star review next time.

For a restaurant named after Korean BBQ, I'm slightly ashamed to admit I've never tried their…read moremeats. That said, this restaurant is one of few decent Korean spots outside of Fort Lee and Palisades Park. As such, it's become a return spot for our family members who live fairly local. As soon as you sit down, the default beverage offered is warm barley tea (which is much appreciated during those colder winter visits). The banchan, or side dishes, are few but a little more robust here than other Korean restaurants. During my last visit, we were given plates of standard kimchi, sprouts, and seasoned broccoli. I was also surprised to find pumpkin-egg salad, soy marinated lotus root, and soy-marinated ribeye pieces. The offerings change a little from visit to visit, but they're always decent to downright delicious. While I've not been wowed by anything from the menu, I've found most of the meals to be predictable. Hot stone bibimbap is my regular order, and I love the different proteins they offer here for mixed rice dishes. For those curious about the barbecue but unwilling to pay the high sticker price for a full entree, you can try the galbi, bulgogi, and spicy pork atop a bibimbap. During my last visit, I was delighted by the salmon hot stone bibimbap, which came with a great teriyaki marinade. My regular complaint with Seoul Galbi's bibimbap is that the hot stone has never gotten hot enough for my rice to char and crisp (which is arguably the best part of ordering it on a hot stone. Otherwise, why else would one pay the elevated prices?). When it comes to decor and ambiance, the restaurant is fairly no frills. As far as service goes, the waitresses have always been quick - quick to order, quick to serve, and quick to refill glasses (or, when asked, the side dishes). I also appreciate how slow they are to deliver the check, allowing conversations to linger. When my family and I came with a cake for a family member, the auntie serving our table not only came by with extra plates and silverware, she clapped and sang the 'Happy Birthday' song as boisterously as we.

I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

My husband had the LA Kalbi bento, and the ribs were very flavorful. My brother in law had the pork cutlet, which was a big portion. My parents had the seafood bibimbap - they added the sauce already and there was a lot of it so it was pretty spicy. The other locations I've been to let you add the sauce on the side which I prefer. I also ordered the Tteokbokki appetizer with the fried dumplings and shrimp tempura. I saw this all over Instagram/Tiktok, but I think I'm just not a fan of the dish in general (not necessarily just this spot alone). The fried sides were also heavy and the shrimp tempura had a heavy breading instead of the panko I'm used to. I'd skip - but some of the table enjoyed it. This location is also BYOB. Service here was great, and they checked on us often. They also offer side dishes before your entrees came out and the fish cakes were my favorite.
