I called in for a takeout order of seafood soft tofu stew and spicy beef stew and was extremely disappointed with what I received. The container for the soft tofu stew was only 3/4 full and contained one sad whole shrimp and what looked like mussels and clams from the frozen mixture of seafood that you can find at Hmart. The ratio of ingredients to broth for the spicy beef stew was way off. Both stews also were salty for my taste. The side dishes were just okay. The seasoned perilla leaves and cucumber side dishes were better than the radish kimchi, which were again too salty for my taste. I didn't try the fish cakes, but I was also told it was just okay, nothing special. I have gotten takeout from here before with a marginally better experience. If I had written a review for this restaurant before, I would have likely given a three. And perhaps my experience would have been better if I had dined in, but I certainly won't be getting takeout from this restaurant again.

Only offering takeout these days due to COVID-19. I can say that the quality of their food has not gone down at all. Today, I ordered a Haemul Pajeon, Galbi + Soondubu combo, Woogeoji Galbitang, and Donkatsu. Everything was very well packed, including the banchan. As I said, quality is still as good as before. Everything I ordered was delicious. So kudos to the staff at Myung Ga for staying open during these dire times and providing quality Korean food to the neighborhood. Also, you get 20% of your order if you go pick it up yourself instead of having it delivered. Go and support your local restaurants!

Pork belly was super tender and the tofu soup was delicious!

Just ran into Myung Ga Tofu for a quick weeknight meal. I was greeted by a nice woman and was offered a choice of seating in a nice modern and clean setting. I knew from looking at their menu online that I wanted to order the pork belly and tofu soup combo. It's very nice that they allow you to pick the tofu soup that you want (some places charge extra for add ins in the tofu soup) and I selected the pork tofu soup. The banchan arrived quickly and the highlights for me were the excellent kimchi and some of the best cold greens that I've had. (Expertly dressed and packed with flavor) Soon thereafter, smoking hot pork belly and boiling tofu soup landed in front of me. The pork belly was super tender with a succulent sauce. The tofu soup featured silky tofu and rich broth. Perfect for a cold night. They also include a nice portion of rice, which I like to add to the last of the tofu soup for flavor. The staff were pleasant and professional and the food was quite delicious. Worthy of a return and already recommended to my friends.

I used to love this spot, one of my fav restaurants. I've probably been here more than 50+ times. Now, I hate them because of their crappy service and their terrible business etiquette. I dined here last month and paid the bill with my credit card. If you read this, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD! I know mistakes happen but it all depends how you handle your interaction w your customers. This woman charged my card twice. When I called and explained, the lady sounded so annoyed and before I even got to finish explaining, she said "no we didn't charge you twice" and continued to deny. Until this day, I'm fighting w the card company and its not looking good for me because she charged one transaction w the tip and one w/o the tip. They're not seeing this as a valid claim. This all could've been avoided if she took extra 5 minutes and resolved this for me. Why would I want to pay $75 (almost double) for my meal when it was supposed to be only $40. Congratulations. You won and scammed $35 out of me but I'll trash your business all over the internet.

Such great, heartwarming food! I suddenly had a wisdom tooth removed, so I was looking for local eats that offered easy to eat foods that could fill me up. We ordered to go. I ordered the dumpling tofu soup with plain broth. It was so heartwarming and filling! It was enough for two meals for me. The plain broth is very flavorful, so it's still a great option for those who have trouble with spice, but want to have tofu soup. Besides the tofu, the soup also comes with zucchini and onion pieces in it. The dumplings were so yummy! One order comes with 5 dumplings, a side of rice, and plenty of tofu. My partner got the donkatsu. Wow they give a LOT! This was also enough for two meals for him. It comes with an Asian style demi glacé/gravy type sauce, so it's a bit more "tomato-y" in flavor. He's not a huge fan of these kinds of sauces for katsu, but I love it. He said the katsu itself was good though. He liked how big and crunchy the pieces were. They also give plenty of sides and rice. I like how thoughtfully and neatly they packed our to go order. The donkatsu is ventilated to help keep it crisp. The sides and my soup were packaged with a plastic bag over them in case there's leakage (there wasn't any for us). The hostess was also very kind and radiated warmth. Staff were all wearing their masks as far as I could tell. Although I had ordered the tofu soup because I needed to be able to have softer foods, I would definitely order it again without those complications because I liked it so much.

What a local gem! I've lived in the area for years but this was actually my first time visiting Myung Ga Tofu. We got their famous chicken dish, 2 tofu soups, and the katsu. Everything tasted authentic and hearty. The food definitely tasted like a meal my grandma would make!

Average. I would say the soondooboo is pretty standard but the portion has a bit more tofu and beef than ive seen at other places which I appreciate. The tonkatsu was $20 and is definitely not worth it. The chicken is a bit sweet, but the chicken breast is quite juicy and is okay. The fried rice is just friend rice. However, I would only recommend coming here if you want tofu soup (regular spiciness is what i suggest).

Just what you'll expect of a Korean Tofu and BBQ place. I ordered tofu soup with oyster was good. Plenty of cold side dishes. Place was clean and service was friendly. A nice little lunch place!

What they call soondubu but really a smelly tofu.

This place has changed. Pre pandemic it was good. Nice service. Fast. And delicious. I had it once last year and it was bad. Tasted off with small portions. I tried it again today and it's just not good. It's bad. The soondubu tastes like tomato soup. Seriously. And the squid with pork is not good anymore. I am so bummed because it was my go to. The pork is smelly and has a weird flakey texture. I wish I could get a refund. I will just chalk this up to a $25 lesson learned.

Once your order is ready your number is called and you pick up your tray of food. There is signage in the restaurant indicating that they are self-serve and that you shouldn't tip. My girlfriend and I ordered beef soup and a seafood pancake. The food was prepared fairly quickly and they called our number to pick up the food from the counter. The seafood pancake was pretty good. Very flavorful but I felt like it was thicker and more doughy than I prefer. I would probably skip this for the next visit. The beef soup was delicious as well. It was just the right temperature and it was salty and savory enough without being overwhelming. We went on a particularly cold day so the hot soup really hit the spot. The pieces of beef in the soup were super tender too. Continuing the self-service theme there was a water dispenser and there was even a dispenser of broth at the pick up counter. I liked that broth even more than the broth in the beef soup. I slurped up several cups of it. I'd certainly come back.

Formerly known as Sambong as recently as 8-9 months ago when they first opened, menu-wise they've stayed fairly consistent, specializing in naengmyun (cold noodles in a chilled broth), with some stews and bbq grilled items too. On a cold winter Sunday afternoon we placed our orders around 12:40 and it was ready for pick up at 1:15pm. We ordered: - 물냉면 + 목살구이 Mul Naengmyun Cold Noodle + Pork Neck BBQ $24.99: the thin noodles are super bouncy and chewy, excellent take on a summer classic! Soup and toppings hit the spot, a couple slices of beef and Asian pear, thinly slice cucumbers and pickled radish, plus half an egg. The extra side of bbq pork cheek was marinated and grilled to tender perfection. - 소고기 국밥 Spicy Guk Bap $17.99: lightly spicy beef broth with bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of beef, served over rice. Warm and hearty Korean comfort food on a cold day. - 사골우거지된창국 Sagol Ugeoji Doenjang Guk with Rice $18.99: this beef bone broth is seasoned with fermented bean paste, a flavor somewhat similar to miso with plenty of rehydrated dried napa cabbage. A rich flavor and great over the white rice that came with it. - 돈까스 Donkatsu $19.99 and LA갈비 LA Galbi BBQ $36.99: my friends ordered these items to share with their kids. I didn't try them though they appeared to enjoy. - banchan (side dishes): about 5 or 6 small containers came with the entrees, consisting of regular napa kimchi, a couple different radish kimchis, fish cakes. The chilled kimchi was fermented goodness and went well with the hot broths, soup and rice. Would recommend!
