Every year it seems like our HVAC + Tankless Water Heater service goes up in cost. And the techs we have previously used often arrive and do just and adequate job. This time I shopped around and found a good rate from Skyline. Checked their business license, insurance, and LNI and they looked clean. So I gave them a shot. Scott came and spent about 2 hours working on our heat pump, furnace, and descaling our tankless water heater. He was very organized and had the right equipment for the jobs in his truck. Good sense of humor, but also good advice around how to best upkeep those systems in my house. I ended up getting a discount by purchasing this year's service and next year's together. Called Skyline after another company charged for a diagnostic and then ghosted us. Scott and his crew were incredible to work with. They communicated regularly, showed up when scheduled, and made accurate diagnostics (no trial-and-error as other companies seem to use). I found that texting was sometimes faster than calling, but seeing as they are in high demand, I'm sure the phones are quite busy. Skyline was a great value. Monetarily, both parts and labor were cheaper than previous companies. More importantly, their customer service was outstanding. Scott was kind enough to explain some basics of what he was testing and looking for, enough that we could do some minor troubleshooting and repairs on our own (like a busted pressure switch). That's the mark of a great company and a true tradesman that is willing to share his knowledge. I would not hesitate to work with them again. For those interested in the service requested: our 8 year old Rheem gas furnace stopped cycling and was giving two error codes. Within about 15 minutes, Scott was able to determine there was a faulty pressure switch and a broken connection in the water-sensor wiring. A bit of time to order the parts (with a minor snafu by the parts company sending something different), and the repair itself was completed in very little time. All together the diagnostic, parts, and labor were not much more than the diagnostic cost alone from some other companies. Note: this work was performed in 2024 and the furnace has soldiered on nearly six months with no complaints. I'm glad I found Skyline and I hope they continue their outstanding work. read more

Skyline is a family run company that cares about its customers. If something is not right, they'll make their first priority to fix it for you. I called Skyline heating when I detected two small leaks in my furnace lines. One in the condensation line and one in the exhaust pipe. Both of the leaks were happening at joints and they were pretty minor (one drop every day). But I wanted to get them fixed to keep the system in optimal condition. While the issue was seemingly a small leak, it turned out to be a bigger exhaust issue that needed a few hours of work. At the end, Skyline made every attempt to fix the issue as best as possible. read more

My furnace (really old)had died and a few different technicians from different establushments came to check on it. They made me buy a new circuit board, transformer, daughter boards but nothing really worked. Robert from skyline heating took a look. He then concluded that the new board/s combo was not doing its job. He then came up with a super smart and creative idea to use a newer board and retro fit it on my furnace. It worked!! One really needs to have skills with the inner workings of the furnace to mslake this work which isnt a trait you find often with furnac technicians these days. Robert personally followed to make sure the new board safety measures were in place. This is way beyond what i expected in terms of both technical know how and care for their customers. Communication is why they get docked a star. Some of my messages and questions went unanswered before the install. After the job was complete, I inquired about additional services to upgrade the A/C airflow. It took a while to get a response, then went dead silent. They ghosted me, never answering my messages to the technician or their main email. I was never rude in any way and only wanted to give them more money. It kind of soured the overall experience. My only guess is that the additional service I wanted was a lower profit margin compared to their other work, so they just decided to ignore me. It's rude and turns me off signing up with them for yearly maintenance. read more

We had trouble getting our heater to work so I reached out via Yelp and they responded right away and shortly sent out someone to trouble shoot and solve our heater problem. The owner Scott, was so nice and patient, he is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the problem and the next steps we need to take in order to solve it. He also gave us options which I found to be so helpful. He was honest and gave us his best advice which in turn allowed us to make the best decision which was to overall replace our old heater. He was very flexible and said he was fix our heater temporarily so we had heat and the following week he came and replaced our heater. I have used Skyline for routine furnace inspection and maintenance a few times. Each time they have shown up on time, completed the work quickly and professionally, and provide a clear report about what they did. I also called them when my gas fireplace would not light. They sent a technician out and he also couldn't get it to light. They ordered some parts and came back in a few weeks to fix it. This time the fireplace light for them first try. We decided to monitor it and see if it would keep working, which it did. So I decided not to repair it. Skyline charged us nothing for the two visits because in their words, they didn't do any work. I contacted Skyline to clean my gas fireplace. The guys came worked on it and told me it was done. That night I turned it on and out flew black dust all over my living area. Couches, shelves, and carpet all had soot. I called the company and they sent another person out, along with a furniture cleaning company which was great except for the fact that they left the grate leaning against my couch...which left the design of the grate in spot. They called the furniture / carpet cleaning company again. Couch got cleaned but the carpet still had remnants of soot. The owner came out and said he would make things right and offered to have a carpet color correction company come out and even offered to have my house cleaned. Great! But that never happened. I've had two extremely positive experiences with Skyline. First time was in December '21 when they diagnosed a problem w/ our gas fireplace...but this last experience really stood out. I sent Skyline a message at 10pm on a Monday saying that my furnace went out (mentioned I had small kids who were cold at night and was hoping they could fit me in the next day). However, when I requested for a price quote, I haven't heard any updates. I've called several times, and each call was answered with a promise for an update in the near future. I have had a fabulous experience with Skyline over the past 4ish years, to the point that it is embarrassing that I haven't left them a rave review until now! Back in 2020 Scott came out to give me a quote on installing A/C in my house. I received several quotes from several companies, but what really set Scott apart was that he listened carefully to what we were looking for and worked with me to present several options for how we could accomplish it, explaining pros/cons with each approach along with the pricing. We had a traditional furnace and we considered just adding mini-splits, adding on the A/C, replacing the system with a heat pump, and even a hybrid of the heat pump + extra mini-splits upstairs. We ultimately decided to go with the heat pump and he and his team did a great job--they installed it when they said they would, worked extra hours to get it done in time, and even did some work themselves when one of their subcontractors couldn't make it to ensure they met their timeline. Fast forward to 2023 when I called them and said that I wanted to consider moving from heat pump to the hybrid system we had considered where we'd add extra mini-splits in the upstairs to get better A/C up there, given we don't have the greatest house-wide vent system (Skyline added a duct and return system when they installed the A/C, but it is hard to do everything after the fact in an old house, so we knew this was a possibility). Scott came back out and did a bunch of investigation saying that he wanted to make sure we really needed to go that route before we did it--he thought there may be a less expensive alternative. In addition, Scott also upgraded our thermostat, replaced a part of our panel that had a manufacturer recall, and did some other optimizations to the system based on things he had learned since installing ours (we got a very new to the market system)--all for no charge. He ended up recommending that we fix up some of the venting under our house and add some dampers down there that would send more air up to the second story, and he gave me a quote for that work that would be WAY less than the other route I was considering. I agreed, his team came and did the work, and WOW--HUGE improvement! We had a 5-8 degree difference from the bottom of our house to the top in both winter and the summer before and that is basically gone now. Even my extended family noticed when they came over--they were like, did you change something, your house is so much warmer now! I can't wait to see the impact on the A/C during the summer. Scott and his team are responsive and communicative, and I am SO impressed by the service he continues to provide even YEARS after my original system install.
