Definitely a place for a quick pick up. Don't get me wrong the burger was good but the service was hectic and forgetful. Asked for a pineapple juice and then I waited like 20 minutes and had to ask again in order to get it. Then I asked for no mayo on my burger. Then magically the sandwich came clearly with mayo! Sometimes forgetting to put no mayo on my sandwich can be a deal breaker. Luckily they made it work and burger was still good with the mayo. Then to top it all off, my friend almost got charged twice for one soda! On the plus side it was a pretty damn good burger! I loved the fact that they top their burgers with potato sticks. It's an interesting twist. The fries I remember being good as well. I was also diggin the hot sauce. Also the pineapple juice was worth the wait! Cut the burger in half before you eat it. The widest and thickest burger I have ever had was consumed at this restaurant. I was so astonished by the size that I had to text it to my friends, and the taste was an amazement as well. I was introduced by one of my Brazilian friend and I love her for doing it. I eat breakfast here all the time. I'm a vegetarian, but they are always very accommodating to keeping meat out of whatever I order. They make an awesome omelet with tomatoes and olives. The Acai sorbet bowl is one of my favorites. Acai berries crushed into a sorbet with granola and sliced banana. And the juices are awesome. Try guava/strawberry - very tasty! If I could only rate the food, it would be 5 stars. I cant bring myself to eat any other burger since I sunk my teeth into the deliciously mammoth sized "Cheese Bacon" burger topped with crunchy potato sticks. All at a very reasonable price of $5.50. HOWEVER, Ever since they hired new staff, the Kearny Ave. location has completely lost its charm. Overall, the staff is rude, careless, and unsanitary. On Multiple visits I've seen numerous staff members engaging in ass pinching and nose picking prior to the handling and delivery of my food. I also seriously doubt the freshness of their pastries on certain days of the week, having been delivered stale food on multiple occasions. What really did it for me was receiving a receipt attached to my delivery bag which read: "Diarrhea", instead of "Ria." Personally, I would pick a different Hamburgao location to go to. Everything is amazing there even though we usually order the coxinha with cheese seasoned chicken and cheese balls that are fried ohhhhh so so good! And we get the cheese tudo burger ham cheese corn fried egg potato sticks lettuce tomato and mayo. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I got sick of people talking about those boring tasteless 5 Guys burgers. This place uses steak meat and loads up with eggs, cheese, lettuce, etc (the works) The fries that go with this burger along with their special mayo is enough reason for me to break my usual healthy turkey burger eating. Hamburgao was a lunchtime favorite when they first opened in '05, but a recent trip here did not impress me so much. Their burgers are made with potato chips and corn (as well as normal toppings like lettuce & tomato) and this very delicious pinkish-orangey sauce that is apparently made from fruit & mayo. I remember their burgers being a thick and juicy patty, but the last time I had ordered it, it was flat and dry. Their coxinhas are very delicious, I still am a fan of them to this day: Chewy dough wrapped around white chicken meat and then breaded are all deep-fried to create this beautiful golden-brown product. Holy Jesus! Been here several times but just had the Hamburgao Picanha. AWESOME! Imagine a ham and cheese sandwich, a sirloin cheese steak and a BLT sandwich combined and that's what this was. The sandwich was between 3" and 4" thick. You'd be a fool to put catchup on it. The flavor is incredible. I can kick myself for never trying it before. The burgers are great. But if you ever have this (#3 on the menu) you will never have a burger here again. When the guy handed me the bag I thought it was 3rd base. The menu is in both English and Portuguese. So you won't be confused about what you are ordering. They always accommodate you with special orders so don't be afraid to add or take away items from your sandwich. There's plenty of seating at the Kearny location. The ones in the Ironbound section of Newark are not as roomy. read more

They actually have a BUNCH of deep fried snacks that you can just pick up when you're in the mood for something unhealthy and delicious. When my bf called last month they kept him on hold for like 10 mins then he called back and they didn't even apologize they just asked to hold again. So for that might as well order in person. I love the soups here, but yesterday I was really disappointed with the service. I ordered a soup and my brother ordered a chicken ball, which was delivered to our table around the same time as his burger. And only because he asked our server where his chicken ball was considering it had been over 10 min, this was after he got ignored when calling her a few times before she finally rose to the occasion and got him his chicken ball. I had a good time my soup came quickly I felt bad for my brother who had just come from a game, and was hungry like a wolf so he had some of my soup with me while waiting for his food as his life passed before his eyes. My daughter has been telling me about this place for ever so I finally gave it a shot. The prices are cheep enough but trying to save a bit I had my daughter pick it up to save delivery fee and tip. It came back packed into two bags so some of the food was squashed and missing an entire meal. I called to see if they could send it in a delivery but was told I'd have to pay the delivery fee not to mention I would tip the driver since it wasn't his fault anyway. So the meal would cost me more in the end anyway. I reminded the manager I spent over $40 in a $5 burger joint and felt that wasn't very fair but I think she was more a counter person because her management skills were nonexistent. I understand if they use a delivery company a fee has to be charged because I've been a food and beverage manager for over 20 years but I also know they could've paid the fee themselves. I myself as a GM have jumped in my car to right a wrong for a customer. Now about the food.... my daughter loves this place and I didn't talk to my family who I got some items for, but my opinion is the burgers are frozen patties that they way over cook to the point I couldn't even eat it. The only good part about it was the bun. I like the bread they use. Maybe if you eat in it would be better but having to pay full price and pick up what they forgot to put in turned me off.
