One star and its not because the food is bad - its the service. Recently we asked to have the lettuce on the side of the sandwich for a delivery since they wrap the sandwiches in tin foil and we don't like having soggy, warm lettuce. We were told the owner wouldn't allow the kitchen to do that. Seriously? Tonight I went in to pickup an order and had a free can of soda available to me. When my cashier couldn't figure out the system, another one came over. First, she went and took care of the person standing next to me when she couldn't figure out my issue. Then she told me she'd be right back and had to check something with the computer. She came back, and then after doing a couple things on the screen she gave me a total and I paid with a debit card. When I looked at the receipt I hadn't received my discount. She then said I hadn't told her about the discount and it was a debit card so she couldn't do anything. Lazy and a liar. She couldn't figure it out, got fed up, knowingly charged me full price hoping I wouldn't check, and then lied straight to my face. She came to help in the first place because of the discount. I'm not a petty person, and the $1.50 really doesn't matter to me. Its the incredible nerve to lie straight to my face like that and tell me there isn't anything she could do. Interesting and well constructed sandwich. Fake Cocoanut flan Solidified with gelatin. Can't give this place three or more stars for a few reasons. First the service is bad. Why bother with table service if you have to go up to the counter to get service? The food may be good but if you are waiting 15 minutes to get your sandwiches you have a longtime to look around. Not a table got wiped down between customers and the place definitely needed a general scrubbing. To make it worse, there was a manager in the house who gave the hairy eyeball to anyone who looked like an outlander and was more interested in checking his receipts than the quality of the business. This place never disappoints ans the greatest part is that it is open till 12AM. I remember the days when I used to do laundry in a laundromat I used the one across the road from Hamburgao and used to go eat there and kill time till my clothes were done. I love the burger here cause the first time I had it I was amazed that it had corn and potato sticks as well in it. I just loved it, I have kept going back to eat the burger. If you like mayo, then you just might like this place. I ordered the regular hamburger and basically got a mayo burger in a huge roll with a thin beef patty, bits of corn, potato sticks (which I think is a cool concept), and the usual lettuce and tomato. I couldn't even finish it because I was so grossed out by the 4th bite. The fries were okay but not spectacular. I was mildly disappointed since I heard a lot of good reviews about this place. Horrible service !! Waited about 10 minutes before anyone attended the cashier . The young male finally came and started taking care the ppl who were behind me . I then brought it to his attention that I was standing there before all the other ppl and he rudely said I was suppose to stand at his register not beside his register . Horrible! We've gone twice and both times the employees that work there are completely incompetent and lazy. First Visit- had a chicken sandwich and it was good but employees were horrible. Second Visit- We went after a Redbulls game and ordered 3 sandwiches which literally took 1 hour to get. The employees were rude and childish, we ordered 2 #1's and just a regular steak sandwich. After an hour of waiting the sandwich barely had any steak it was all steak fat and made us sick for 2 days.They came out with a hotdog instead of a steak sandwich and tried making us change our minds and eat it instead of the steak sandwich! This is my outlet for brazilian sandwiches. for those who don't know, brazilian sandwiches have everything in them. I usually get the hambergao frango (chicken sandwich), it has chicken (obviously), egg, ham, bacon, potatoe sticks, mayo, and etc. It really makes a very fulfilling sandwich. One is enough to fill me for lunch and dinner! The place is pretty nice. It has dine in, take out, and deliveries. Their service is very good. They have a lot of appetizers that are really good too like chicken balls with cheese. All around a really good place. Hamburgao is comfort food. There is nothing healthy that can come out of this restaurant and even if they try its still dipped in some sauce or sauteed in grease but the food is good. I can't give a 0 if not I would. I ordered a tuna sandwich and during that order I requested for the bread not to be toasted and for the bread to be fresh and soft. After about 5 minutes I decided to call again because in the past I was given old bread and it was a disaster to get them to pick it up and give me a refund, so When i called i spoke with a girl and I asked her to please make sure the bread was not tasted and that it was fresh and soft. She said ok no problem. But she obviously didn't check because the bread was so hard I can knock on it. I called and asked to speak to the manager Priscilla and she said that all there bread is hard. So I said then why do you deliver a sandwich to someone that requested soft fresh bread. She was rude unaccommodating and she said they will bring my refund when they had the time 30-40 min later. This place is awesome and everyone should try at least once. They have delicious burgers and they put corn and potato sticks on them. They also have some healthy options, a grilled chicken sandwich called "the fat free" and a good grilled chicken salad. Some other good options that people always get are the cheese empanadas, meat empanadas, or chicken and cheese balls (usually as an appetizer). They're all about a dollar and some change and are displayed in the small glass case on the counter. The desserts don't taste as good as they look, at least for me. I ordered a bowl of Acai for the first time. When it arrived it was full of Nutella, for some reason. Now I'm actually allergic to chocolate and that was clearly someone else's order. This place is horrendous. I've ordered food twice from here and I went to go pick it up. The first time I went I asked and they looked for my food on the tray where they leave it out and told me sorry not ready( it was just sitting there) I asked again and they told me it's not ready. This whole time my food was just sitting there over 20 minutes. I give them a second try. Guess what? Same exact thing happens. I told them this is not how you do business the second time they did it. Completely just forgot my food and made me wait in there for over an 45 minutes of when my food was ready. There are two locations for this place and not only that there are dozens of places that make food like this down the street in Harrison and Newark. If you don't want to be ridiculed for your religious beliefs and want your food hot and someone to actually just do a simple thing and go to the counter and grab your food then this is NOT the place for you! I used to come here all the time when I was in highschool and I recently went the other day and it's just as good as it ever was! The price is also great for how big the burgers are. My favorite is the Cheese Egg. I recommended this place for YEARS to my friends, definitely one of my favorite places. Some of these reviews say that the customer service is aright and the wait time is pretty lengthy, but every time I come here I am always treated nicely and the food always comes quick. This is an awesome place to come for when you're craving fast food, but not necessarily low quality. They're fast and quite unique. I recommend the shakes as well, especially with condensed milk. Great location, wait time to be seated is reasonable. Customer Service is not greatest. Service really slacks, you have to wait a good amount of time before someone come to help you. This problem wasn't just a one time thing it seems it's a every time accuracy. The wait time for the food is ok " great good takes time.".
