Model 35035A, 4.5 Liter Hamilton Beach Professional Grade Electric Deep Fryer.
    Mikey C.

I have a lot of kitchen appliances that i use more, like my refrigerator, my microwave and my toaster oven. But the kitchen appliance I love the most is my model 35035A Hamilton Beach Professional Grade Electric Deep Fryer. Some days I think buying a professional grade deep fryer was just about the smartest purchase I ever made. A total game changer. I don't know how I ever got by without one. At first, I was concerned that it was too large. With a 4.5L (19 cups) oil max capacity, it takes a minimum of about a gallon of oil to fire it up. But, as I soon discovered, that large oil capacity is why this is such a great appliance. With 1800 watts of power, and a large oil capacity, It takes just seconds to come back up to temperature when you add food to the oil. That quick rebound is critical when you're cooking. And as soon as one batch of something is finished, the oil is hot enough for another. No waiting around like a schmo for the oil to come back up to temperature. When I say this bad boy is a game changer, I ain't kidding. There are some things, like nachos and chicken wings, for example, that i almost never order anymore when I go to restaurants, because the ones I make at home are so much better. Great deep fried chicken, and chicken wings are among my favorite things to make with this fine appliance, but the thing I use it most for is making tortilla chips. My tortilla chips rule supreme! You can't beat homemade tortilla chips. Super easy to make, and oh so cheap! Costco sells double packs of tortillas (2x50) for three bucks and change. I fry up 30 at a time, cutting 'em up into quarters. In just minutes I have a huge batch of perfect chips for just over a dollar. Well, maybe a little more, if you factor in the cost of the oil. But if you buy your oil in bulk from Smart and Final, you can save a bundle. Since I filter the oil, I can re-use it multiple times. I learned that trick working for Colonel Sanders when I was a teenager. You never really want to use 100% new oil to cook most things because new oil ain't got no flava. Depending on what you're cooking, it's nearly always better if at least part of your oil is re-used. The only thing that would make this appliance better is if it was made in the USA (like nearly everything these days, it's made in China), (sigh). The only other problem with this deep fryer is that the temperatures printed on the thermostat rub off really easily. Not that big of a deal, though, because if you use it enough, you can easily remember the correct dial position. I've had this baby for two years now. I expect many more years of use. How much does one of these things cost? About $85 on Amazon. Mikey C says: love my model 35035A Professional Grade Electric Deep Fryer!

    Glass shards in food

I purchased a brand new digital Hamilton Beach slow cooker and on the same day of purchase, started a slow cooking recipe of $100 worth of organic ingredients. I put the cooker on a low setting over 10 hours and then went to sleep. By morning, I woke up to the delicious smell, but shattered glass cover still on top of the ceramic cooker. There was glass all over my counter, dropped into my food, and cut my hand in two places, trying to clean up the mess. Submitted Hamilton Beach online contact form and took over two weeks to receive a reply with no recourse. I received their form letter and nothing was going to be done to apologize or replacement of my $100 of wasted ingredients that I could not feed my family for fear of cuts and lacerations from the food. I'm extremely disappointed. Their quality has gone downhill. Horrible customer service experience. No compassion. No concern for the severity of thousands of pieces in our food and counter top.

I purchased a Hamilton Beach upright freezer from Costco in Feb 2025. I came home Aug 5, 2025 to what looked like a crime scene from defrosted berries and red juice seeping out of the freezer door on to the floor. Curtis is the company for the 1 year warranty coverage on the Hamilton Beach Freezer. I contacted them in August. Finally in October Curtis said they issued a check to me but it would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive it. I was in shock and asked WHY so long. They said the check was coming from Canada. I still don't understand why it would take so long since it is just a envelope. They just kept saying it was coming from Canada. So.... My freezer barely made it 6 months in operation, hundreds of dollars of food lost, and it's going to take around 6 months to receive a replacement check.... if I receive it at all. In this current economy not everyone has hundreds of dollars extra to buy another freezer while they wait months for the replacement check.

My latest coffee pot is Hamilton Beach Smart 12 Cup Coffee Maker that works with Alexa, and I love it! It's the latest in a long line of coffee makers I have of their coffee makers going back decades. My Sport Personal Blender, Cheetah Skin crock pot, and can opener that I use regularly are part of my culinary and daily routine. Then there's the time that I went for breakfast at a small restaurant in Punta Gorda, Belize that had a paper plate sign on the wall that waffles were not available till further notice. I asked what the deal was with the waffles and the owner, a lovely lady, explained that her waffle iron died and she didn't know when she might be able to replace it. This was the early 90's so even online ordering wasn't a thing, so long story short, when I returned home I bought and sent several Hamilton Beach waffle irons to that owner of the quaint local place and I'm pretty sure they she and her customers were happy to take that sign off the wall :-) Hamilton Beach Brands is a well-known and respected brand that specializes in producing high-quality kitchen appliances. This place is fine if you don't have to do anything but buy something and ring yourself out or need…read moresomething minor from someone, but if you need anything significant that takes any sort of effort, you might as well just leave and go somewhere else. My gut reaction is that their store leadership is terrible, but the rest of the Home Depots in the Richmond area are just as bad (and some are worse). I've come in here looking for one of the last remaining items in the store several times only to walk out empty-handed because they can't find their own products. Once they get below 5 of anything remaining in the store, they won't have a clue where to find any of them, so you might as well just go to Lowe's or to Ace Hardware. When this happened again recently, I went to Ace Hardware and found what I was looking for with no issues (ironically only two of what I was looking for in that store, and it wasn't a problem at all). And let me tell you, expecting them to deliver large orders is about as hopeless as it gets because they will mess it up, lose it, or damage whatever it is. I've had no less than four deliveries over the past 5 years that have arrived late, not arrived and had to reorder, and/or has arrived damaged. It's clear that their delivery guys just don't care enough to do their job properly. I would say they don't get paid enough to care, but for the results they are providing, they're getting paid way too too much. One moderately large order last year was delivered to a random home 10 miles away for some reason, and that homeowner was angry because they just dropped it and blocked off the driveway (that's what I call two birds with one stone). When I finally got my order, half of the lumber was damaged, and I received NONE of my 10-sheet plywood purchase. They pinned it on the Intown store (probably likely, but it was still purchased through this store), and they transferred me to them. They found my plywood, but it was only half of the order and couldn't find the rest. One of the sheets I did get was damaged, so here we go again. At some point while trying to clear up the issue, the store rep told that the issue was my mistake because I didn't actually order all of the items correctly (despite doing it in the store, and despite me looking at a printed copy of my invoice with the correct items... that apparently she couldn't find). She told me I had to place another order that wouldn't arrive for another two weeks. I placed the order and reminded her that I wasn't happy to AGAIN have to deal with another of their mistakes. In doing so I said "It's complete bulls - - t that y'all can't get your stuff together and I always have to jump through hoops to make it right." She cancelled my order and said she didn't have to fill my order because I used vulgarities, and she hung up on me. I've had whole-order deliveries cancelled without notifying me too. They'll just cancel an order, make no effort to call, and then they say they called and left a voicemail (despite that being 100% "fabricated truth"). I ordered a dog kennel a few years back, and it never made it to me. Over a month after ordering the item, I had to disprove blatant lies the store told an online rep, and once he realized I was telling the truth, he gave me a full refund. A month after that, a 300 lb box 6ft by 3ft was blocking my driveway. Inside the mangled box was the destroyed dog kennel that "never existed." Today they delivered a make-up order of one of their mysteriously-cancelled deliveries (the small items were all delivered last week, but the large items, the six 10-ft-long items I paid $80 to have delivered, they were cancelled, and I had to place another order for those), and the guy today never made any attempt to come down my driveway to deliver the items (10-ft metal drip edge/flashing). He simply propped the item up on my address sign beside the road and left. I have a 500 ft driveway that is plenty wide enough for large trucks (we have them here all the time), and we have a very large turn-around area for trucks by our house, but sometimes the driver will walk down the driveway to check it out. Not this guy today! It was drizzling, so I watched him pull the flashing out of the truck (and bend it all to hell because he didn't know how to lift it), and just leave it beside the road. This store is terrible, and the Intown store is terrible. Maybe the rest in this area are fine, but if you need them to anything more than just exist, go somewhere else.

I just purchased an LG microwave and electric range and had an amazing experience. The purchase was smooth as ever. I found the items that I wanted and that were in stock and ordered them online for delivery and installation. The delivery was free and installation prices were comparable to other places. I ended up upgrading to their tech/service program because the cost of individual installation was the same price. So now all of my appliances are covered for repairs, etc. and I got free installation as a result. They were excellent about communication. On the day my appliances arrived, they texted, and then called when they were 10-15 minutes out. They arrived on time and were extremely professional. Both men wore masks and had our things set up in under an hour. I paid to have them move our old stove and they did with no problem. Again, I have no complaints with our experience. We asked for help from the manager on duty, who was an African American woman, short in stature, with short hair. Unfortunately, our interaction with her was extremely rude and condescending. We were simply trying to get assistance with the price match and complete our purchase, but the way she spoke to us made us feel very uncomfortable and upset. I understand that employees and managers have difficult customers and busy days, but there is no reason for a customer to be made to feel uncomfortable when simply asking for assistance. This was especially disappointing because she was the manager on duty and should have been setting the standard for customer service. I hope Best Buy takes this feedback seriously and looks into what happened during this interaction.

I am finally so glad for the great service of Andrew from Fusion. I found him to be very talented, honest, reliable, hardworking, committed. I would go with a less nice but reliable and honest HVAC guy to resolve my HVAC problems rather than super nice but unreliable tech. And of course the price charged for the repair was very reasonable. I guess service of Andrew and Fusion is already popular, but I wish further success of his business.
