I checked in late Monday night but it turned out that there was a mix up and I was set to check in the previous night. Aneta, the front desk professional was exceptional. She had me squared away and on my way in no time, while smiling and assisting other staff members. The rooms are just right (I'd take a picture but I made a mess lol). The fridge is a little tricky to open but that's pretty much the only "issue." Water pressure is great (someone was talking about it in the lobby so I had to check it out too lol). Wifi is so far the best I've experienced in any hotel (and I've been to quite a few hotels). Housekeeping is nice and they don't harass you for service like other places. The housekeeper asked me once, I politely declined, she said don't hesitate to call if I need anything, and that was that. Just how I like it. read more

Beware of this hotel! It's clean and conveniently located but there is something weird going on. First, the rate they list online does not include the daily Facility Fee of $25.26, so it's not the true rate! What is the facility fee for anyway? They offer "free Wi-Fi". So what's the excuse other than a sneaky way to increase their daily rate. I'm noticing that more hotels are adding this extra charge even when they aren't big resorts with swimming pools and other facilities. Is it a way to ensure that their hotel gets a better value ranking on the web? Second, the Hamilton may have an internal racket going on. My colleague got a late billing for breakfast on a day we didn't eat there, and I had a mini bar charge for one candy and two Jack Daniels when I never even opened the mini bar. Third, they kept my colleague's corporate credit card after breakfast on his last day when he was in a rush to check out. He returned within two hours to ask about it and they said they didn't have it, but we know he had only used it there. Be careful! read more

At first we felt like it was to to close the Franklin Square Park because of the homeless that the park attracts. Wrong they all showed up for the free food and socks but left before night fall and we stayed for eight nights and they were gone. Let start with location one block away from the Blue-Orange-Silver lines Metro station, super convenient. We purchased a seven day pass for $38 and it was good for all trains and buses, we traveled all over the DC area and it was really easy. The major plus was the amazing happy hour, oysters, beer, cocktails and great food deals, were really good and the wait staff were very friendly. The rooms are little on the small size, however the hotel opened in 1926 and the rooms are nice and the staff do an amazing job cleaning and getting your room cleaned daily. There is a lot of places you can stay when traveling to DC, the Hamilton has the old DC class and you won't be disappointed, we had a great time! We plan on going back! read more

Excellent customer service! We arrived early morning (fully expecting to wait prior to check in), but a room was available and they graciously checked us in right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our 4-day trip. I even received and sent packages with them. I was skeptical after reading some reviews, but the hotel was a great value. We had a lovely park view and the room was cozy and clean. King bed was large and soft; the mattress appeared new. However, Franklin Park is frequented by homeless so there are a lot of homeless along K Street. There is also a nightclub somewhere on 13th and I faintly heard music til around 3am. Water pipes are rather loud too. The rooms aren't very sound proof so ear plugs may be necessary if you're a light sleeper. I noticed the noise, but it didn't bother me. Nonetheless, the location is great. The McPherson Square Station is one block away so access to the train is very convenient! There is a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Five Guys and CVS nearby as well. The downtown location is near sightseeing, restaurants, bars, etc. I enjoyed my stay and particularly appreciated the staff's kindness. read more

The one star is for the few members of staff that were nice, the hotel's proximity to cool things to explore, and for how nice the hotel looks at first glance. Keep reading if you want to know more but to make a long story short, this place charges way too much for a terrible experience. Costs: They nickel and dime for everything. We were there for a conference and they charged $100/day for a tiny table to put our projector (that we had to bring because they charge a ridiculous rental price to use theirs) on with a huge hole in its tablecloth, a couple extension cables, and a power strip. When you order food for a group of people, they charge everyone's meal based on whatever the most expensive dish costs so you have to pay a lot more than if they actually charged by the dish. At their restaurant one night, a friend had a BLT and water and it not only made her sick, it cost $31! Even the tiny bottles of water in the rooms are $3 each. Facilities: I was there for 5 days and I think the elevators only worked reliably a couple times the whole week. The light would come on when you pushed the button and then turn off and the elevator would never come. I'm fairly certain only one or two of the four cars was ever in service so they were always super full whenever they did come. The only thing the elevator did consistently was stop at every single floor on the way down even when nobody had pushed the buttons for it to do so. In comparing notes with friends, the showers didn't work much better. Mine seemed to like to insist that I take a bath instead of a shower because it would dump water into the tub instead of route it through the shower head. One of my friends had a shower that never heated up further than lukewarm. One of the others had a shower that consistently flooded her bathroom. Staff: My room was never cleaned until late afternoon. I didn't mind this too much since I was working during the day anyway but on my last day, I wasn't working and only had a later brunch to attend. Room service came by at 9a and said they'd come back later when I answered the door. They came by again as I was grabbing the last of my stuff to check out and this time, when I answered the door, I was greeted by an exasperated sigh and "when are you checking out?" Lovely. They also don't seem to have first aid kits until you can show them the reason you need one. I don't know what kind of policy that is but it's not great for customer service. read more

This hotel: The hotel itself looks luxurious and nice, but the room left me a bit disappointed. The staff: The staff working are pretty nice and friendly. They were helpful and let me get a late checkout. They hooked me up because I'm Gold Status with the hotel chain. I got free breakfast and some free drinks for the evening too. The room: This is where the Hamilton falls short. I got a corner room that was near K & 14th were the clubs DC Coast were and it was pretty loud. You could hear the bumpin music from inside the room. I'm a light sleeper so it prevented me from falling sound asleep. I would give it higher stars except for the lack of sound insulation from the outside. read more

Nice Hotel, we really enjoyed ourselves, very centrally located. If I had to complain it would definitely be about the Elevators.....They have 4 but only 2 work. This only effected me during checkout and early AM, since this seemed to be their busy time. Hotel room was small but not painfully small, nicely decorated and very clean. Make sure you request a floor with an ice machine or you will be climbing up or down one floor every time you need new Ice, I noticed this right away and they moved me to a floor with a Ice machine. read more

We booked this hotel based on it's proximity to the Mall where our event took place and price, for that I'd give it 5 stars. The hotel lobby is lovely and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. What I didn't like was that the hotel otherwise is completely shut down. As we noticed other hotels had their restaurants open the one here was closed. What made it so inconvenient was that it was hard to find anything open close by. The hours either opened too late or closed too soon. I didn't take any stars away for this it is just an observation. Covid has taken a toll on the local business. I understand the restrictions here are very strict. Our room had 2 queen beds in a very small room which is to be expected as it is an old hotel. The toilet is for unusually short people. I am 5'7 so I'm just a normal size. There is a plethora of outlets but hardly any of them work. Either they 1 didn't work or 2 anything you plugged into them fell out. We found this extremely time consuming and frustrating as there were three of us in this room. The bed was clean but I wouldn't say the room was exceptionally clean. We stepped on a berry we had dropped and while cleaning it the white cloth turned black from the dirty carpet. Smudges and fingerprints, fuzzy dust on the sprinkler and the pipes behind the toilet (hey I notice those things) Our room could of used some basic TLC. read more

We had an exquisite stay at the Hamilton! Our room was top floor and in tip top shape. The bed was clean, comfy and the view was fine. The front desk was well staffed and helpful. The Starbucks and the attached restaurant/bar were a perfect touch for vacationers or diplomats/businessmen alike. And, there is a ton of places to eat including breakfast options near by, to start a day of sight seeing. Across the street there is a night club that apparently gets celebrities or famous/rich people, but that didn't pose an impediment or anything to our stay--it's an option if you are in the clubbing. Also across the street is a park. All the amenities are here, and it is very close to the National Mall. We could definitely stay here again. read more

My wife and I stayed at Crowne Plaza The Hamilton (Washington DC) September 2017. The reservation was for a "1 Queen Bed Nonsmoking" room, but the room we were hastily assigned (212) clearly had a full-size bed. We informed the front desk of this problem multiple times, yet the staff insisted that the system listed the room as having a queen size bed. However, as someone who sleeps on a queen size bed every night, this was not the case. We even measured the mattress and found that the dimensions were consistent with a full-size mattress and not a queen size. When we entered the hotel to check-in, the staff was in a rush to free up a room for us, and had to make some calls, so perhaps they gave us the wrong room mistakenly. However, their refusal to solve the problem was quite irritating. I contacted the IHG hotel group of which this hotel is a part, and they informed me that two days before I contacted them (today), the hotel had left their group and so they could not help me, and they also mistakenly claimed that the reservation was for a full size bed though the reservation confirmation email clearly shows otherwise. It seems a little ridiculous. The reservation and payment went through IHG, and now they claim no responsibility for the matter whatsoever. I am very disappointed with both the hotel and IHG. read more

The room was really nice, the location was great (walking distance to White House & other attractions) the staff was really nice. Only problems were we had to ask several thing like extra towels & pillows etc... We paid for 3rd person in room. They gave us 1 complimentary bottle of water. We asked for extra but they said we could buy them (for $9 a piece). Seems like when you pay $30 to use the sleeper sofa in the room they could throw in some water. read more

And then when I showed them my email where it said there was self parking and no cost they just argued back and forth about it being 59.00. He finally just stamped my valet and still charged my card! Given the luxury pricing of this hotel I was a little bit surprised at certain lapses. The staff is very attentive and helpful, but dropping your car for valet parking is hair-raising as you step out right beside busy 14th Street traffic. I had little choice but to park on site because the location is in the middle of a lot of offices whose parking facilities close for the weekend. That said, the price for several nights of parking isn't too horrific ($50/night) given the convenience. I stayed at The Hamilton for a convention; the facilities were good for lectures and gatherings but there were some exceptions: - it was surprising that a place of this nature would't have a piano. There was a musical concert and a piano had to be brought in. - there wasn't a dance floor either, but perhaps they don't host many formal events featuring dancing. We had Charleston lessons and it's heavy going to dance on carpet. I had forgotten to charge my (current generation) iPhone and was surprised that the in-room chargers were from the previous 32 pin style. When I called the front desk there was an apologetic answer that there weren't new connectors. I unexpectedly found a USB connector on the bedside lamp so I didn't have to go down and tether myself to a charger in the business section. The in-room safe was very convenient and much appreciated. At first I thought it was a small microwave 'cuz that's what it looked like but that's just me. I'm not at all fond of the new style of hotel rooms where the toilet is on the other side of the door to the sink. I've come across this layout in several hotels I've stayed in recently. New flash to whoever designs this arrangement: What's the first thing you should do after using the toilet? WASH YOUR HANDS! You should not touch the doorknob before doing so. While talking about the toilet: the thinness of the toilet seat was surprising. I sat on it to put my slippers on after showering, and it buckled. I thought maybe I was being too critical, but when I got home I checked my plain old toilet seat and it's ordinary but thick and solid. Also, the grab bar, which is supposedly a safety feature, is not located per usual by the taps, but down at the end of the tub. The associated restaurant (14K) which can be entered from within the hotel is quite good and certainly convenient but that's another review. I mention it as a helpful amenity if the weather is bad or you just don't feel like leaving the premises. The location is super: you can walk to many desirable cultural sites and attractions so +++ for that. I needed a minor toiletry and there's a drugstore in the next block. This is a much more upscale hotel than my usual tourist stopovers but because the convention I attended was there. I opted to be with the people I wanted to hang out with but would not return given DC's bounty of less costly accommodations. read more

Our stay was absolutely lovely and we had a very nice view from our 6th floor room, overlooking a beautiful green park, looking towards The White House, The African American Museum and other must see places to visit. Although we arrived from California and had many hours before check-in, we were extremely grateful for the hotel granting us an early check-in... and with a smile! I also really enjoyed the close proximity of the hotel, to many of the highly rated Yelp restaurants in the area and although my Mom and Mother-in-Law were with me for this trip, the walking was great exercise for these Seniors and quite a good adventure. All of the hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly! I highly recommend this hotel and will most definitely stay here again, the next time I'm in town. read more

The gentleman who was working on June 13th, 2020, at the front desk, was the ABSOLUTE sweetest, patient man ever. PLEASE recognize him as an outstanding employee. My daughter and I drove in from put of state and after being in the car for over 13 hours with a cranky baby, ready to settle down for the night.... we arrived to DC only to find that every street leading to the hotel was blocked off due to an impending protest. I called the hotel at least 4 times, ans spoke to him. He was so calm, and could tell I was flustered and upset. He stayed on the phone with me until my daughter and I were able to safely park. Then he met us in the parking garage and escorted us to the hotel lobby. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the care he took to ensure we were safe. Thank you so so much. I was in town for the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit and stayed at the Hamilton Hotel. The hotel was clean and the staff was exceptional. This was my first time visiting Washington DC so I was really eager to see all the city had to offer. During my stay I encountered Thomas who was the Housekeeping director or manager I believe. He took time to speak to me in the hall in passing. He asked how I was and if I needed anything. He told me I could call the front desk if I need anything regarding housekeeping and he would take care of it. This hotel went above and beyond my expectations. Definitely a thumbs up !! read more

Extremely dissatisfied. As a parent of 3 small children the claim of being "kid friendly" was what sold me on booking the reservation for our 3 night stay. That was not the case. They booked us in a room on New Years Eve directly in front of the elevator with a crack in the door so wide you could see and hear everything going on in the hallway. The room also contained a mini bar that we requested to have removed. We were told that if they took it out we would be charged for all the items in it. Needless to say The Hamilton hotel D.C. is not kid friendly. They also forgot to mention on their website that they were under construction and that we would be awoken with the noise of hammering and other sounds of construction and that the elevators would be unavailable for a portion of our stay. We will not be staying and this establishment ever again. read more

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a long spontaneous weekend here and had a great experience. From check-in to check- out everything was seamless. the concierge even had to get me a safety pin for a wardrobe malfunction:) the room was great our view was beautiful especially at night. only two little things worth mentioning....the club The Park is located very close and we were kept awake at night until very ...early:) we could feel and hear the bass...finally resorted to putting on some calming music from our phone to try and make sleeping possible. also ladies...if you use the body wash avoid using it down under. its pepperminty and i was cool and spicy and burning..:) use something else. oh they have a starbucks on sight and a yummy bakery across the street which is very cute!!! read more

I've stayed at a great many hotels over the years all around the world and this has been a bad experience. The hotel ignored my room request although I made a point of confirming it beforehand 3 times. The front desk blamed reservations although I specifically called the front desk beforehand. Then the front desk gave me and my family room keys that did not work. Next, the front desk gave us keys to an occupied room. The hotel ignored my request that my room be cleaned. Was I offered an upgrade? No. Was I offered a discount? No. Was I offered a free meal or meal voucher? No. Was I offered a free drink? No. Was I offered a bottle of water? No. It was as if they were defiantly proud of their ineptitude. read more

This review was a little bit hard to write. The first look at the lobby of this hotel was nice nothing crazy fancy but it's definitely a boutique hotel the lobby was nice and clean the rooms look small but quaint. Then if you look a little deeper you start to wonder if you should stay there. This hotel used to be A Crowne Plaza Hotel. They had a ton of bedbugs in the past. Low and behold, we found two bedbugs on bathroom towels that look like they had been dried in the towels and it was very concerning. We then found one bedbug laying on the towel that was dead but was definitely a recent bedbug. We checked the entire bed nothing was there. So I'm a little concerned that they still may have a tiny issue that they were able to clean up but there you go.... Let's talk about the restaurant downstairs... They seemed a little bit, do I say biased against certain people? We had great cocktails there but when it came to seating they were definitely preferential for some folks versus others, and the food I can't attest to because we didn't eat there but the bar was good. read more

This hotel has potential- but until they're done with their construction, I'd skip it. To be more specific: 1. To enter the hotel, you go around the corner to the alley, go through a flappy tent, through a back door, up the stairs, down a hall to a repurposed conference room to check in. Not an elegant way to enter and not a great first impression. 2. As I arrived, it was the first time I realized that I had booked a hotel that was not only under construction but had major components closed. There was no restaurant, bar, or room service. The website was not clear on the level of impact that the construction would have on my comfort. 3. They charged almost $30 each night for amenities. Considering that there was no lobby, I was somewhat annoyed at the sheer brazenness of this charge. My path in the hotel was limited to the only public areas that were open - the back stairs, the hallway, a conference room/registration, and the elevator to my room. Sure, there's a gym (whoop d do) 4. One evening, as I made my way back to my hotel, I had to worm my way through 300 high school kids that had just descended on the hotel. Because there was no lobby, they took up the entire sidewalk, the alley, the hall, the stairs, and the elevators. I climbed the 6 flights to reach my room. I think the Hamilton Hotel needs to reconsider the wisdom of booking large groups when they have NO public spaces. read more

I stayed at the hotel for business & also attended a conference in their meeting rooms on the lower level. It's clean & quiet. Extra security measure requires room key to use the elevator. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Easy access to the Metro & Reagan International Airport. Walking distance to shopping & food. In particular, it's close to Chinatown. Approx 15 min cab ride to the Hill. A couple notes. This hotel shows up under different names on different mapping apps & can get confusing for you & your Lyft or Uber driver. The sign on the building just says "Hamilton." Also, 1001 14th St NW shows on many apps as the next building, causing drivers to pass it & get confused. Last thing, the 02/26/2014 lobby photo on here is not this hotel. The 04/02/2017 lobby photo is a more accurate depiction. read more

Excellent location, mediocre hotel. The rates are very reasonable for D.C. but the building is old and lacks modern conveniences. The four elevators are very small and slow. If you get put up on the top floor- beware. There is no HVAC system running, and on hot days the hallways will be 100 degrees. A/C efficiency is hit or miss in each room, so you may end up in a stuffy room. The tv's are new but often mounted on the wall sideways to the bed, so difficult to watch. read more

I was booked at this hotel by the organizers of a health advocacy workshop I attended. I was really surprised at how nice the hotel was when I arrived. The location is pretty amazing. The White House is less than a 5 minute walk away.The Washington Post offices are right next door. And the Metro station is a block a way. Almost all of the sites you would want to see in Washington DC, the monuments, Arlington Cemetery, Ronald Reagan airport are easily reached by the under ground rapid transit system. This hotel is older but it's been remodeled. The vibe is formal and upscale. The rooms are very nicely decorated. They took alot of care with the details. The linens are clean and the bed is comfortable. A nice touch is the sleep kit that they give you at bed turn down with lavender scented face and bath products. I wish I knew where to purchase more. My only comment would be that my room was very small and it didn't get alot of natural light. It had one small window and it was overlooking the inner courtyard. If you're booking a room I would request an outside room with a view and lots of light. I had a fabulous time staying here, I want to back as soon as possible! read more

Extra Facility fee charged per night drove our total cost up by 30%. Seemed excessive especially with the hotel being under construction. It's a bit rich asking guests pay at least $25 a night extra in facilities fees while having to enter & exit via a fire escape. $140 that was charged to my account in the days prior to staying was not deducted from the final bill either have to wait a few days to get that refunded which is just annoying. Hotel location is very good and the room was above average is about as positive as it gets. read more

It's a pretty hotel and close to a lot without being right on top of all the touristy spots. But it is near (2 blocks away), the McPherson Square Metro stop (blue line), and you can pretty much go to any spot in DC using the metro. Now, as for the hotel itself . . . the good: it is clean, it has a full-service Starbucks right there in the lobby and the 14K restaurant isn't bad (at least for breakfast). the bad: the VERY first clue should have been that (no joke), they provide a bag with a night mask, ear plugs and a relaxation CD adn CD player clock radio . . . the rooms (at least the one we were in), was fairly small (although there were two full-sized beds in the room), and the rooms that are facing the intersection of 14th & K Streets -- especially on the weekends -- are quite noisy as you are right near several night spots and apparently a nearby fire station . . . not to mention the general traffic on the street itself. It did not lend itself to a peaceful night sleep. read more

Of course their initial "investigation" was negative, however by the time I travelled home I had itchy red bites all over! I was examined by my medical doctor, who confirmed that I had been bitten by bed bugs. I went through their proper procedure, to submit a claim for a refund, it which was also denied. I have travel many place international and domestic, never have I experienced anything close to this. One chooses accommodations based one this "star rating" and do not expect an outcome such as this. read more

For the price, the Hamilton is a good choice for a solid downtown DC hotel. The hotel's location puts you within a 10 minute walking distance to the White House, and a 15-20 minute walk to most other landmarks. The lobby is very nicely appointed, but gives you a false impression of what the rooms might be like. To start, the rooms are definitely small. I stayed in their largest room (executive suite) and it was the same size as a normal room at any other hotel. But it was a pleasant room; clean and nicely decorated. For those IHG Platinum and Spire members that might be interested, there is no executive lounge at this Crowne Plaza location. There is a bar and restaurant in the lobby but I wouldn't recommend it. My stay at this hotel was exactly what I wanted and expected, but if you are looking for a grand hotel experience in DC, I'd recommend staying at the Intercontinental Willard right down the street. read more

Let me start with that this WAS my preferred hotel for business travel in DC. I would go out of my way to stay here even when colleagues stayed elsewhere. This week's experience has changed that including my interaction with the restaurant manager. Hotel issue I always pull my room door shut and check it. I had left my computer in the room that day and distinctly recall checking the door. When I returned at 4 pm, my door was a jar. There was a maid cart in the hall, so I waited a moment with no maid to be seen. I entered the room and it had not been serviced. I closed and locked the door then informed the front desk of both issues. I let them know I would no longer need service due to the need to prepare for evening events. They did say they would send an engineer to check the door closing mechanism (I said was not needed) and investigate the issue. It took another 20 minutes before the maid returned and tried to enter the room. Unable to answer the door, she would not stop knocking. Then another person came and continued the barrage on the door. Then the phone loudly rang - no quick nap for me! I arose and answered the door to someone inquiring why I didn't want the room serviced - really? And that I should put out a sign if I planned to nap. The front desk called later that evenibg to tell me the maid gad left the door open while servicing the room. (??) What I think happened is that this maid likes to quickly move through rooms and initially unlocks her group of doors, gives a quick look as to the amount of work, and then moves freely through them without continually using her key. The rooms are a key card system. It would be easy to tell who accessed the room last. Restaurant issue Despite years of staying here, I can't recall ever eating in 14 & K. Coming back from a long event, I stopped for dinner to take to my room. It was either this or the Five Guys down the street. I should have gone with the Five Guys. In my visit to the hotel last month I checked in on Yelp. It presented a redeemable coupon for a free house bottle of wine. So I ordered my food and presented my phone to the bartender (Christian - great guy by the way). He stated he needed to get his manager which is understandable. The manager came over and took a brief look at my phone and said 'we don't do that.' He was curt and rude. Jarringly rude actually l. He then started to walk off and I said 'excuse me, you don't have to be so rude and short with me'. He barely turned around to say he wasn't and then scurried off. Even in his response to not being rude, he was rude. Note that this conversation started with the bartender showing him my phone. I had not yet spoken and was dressed in formal attire, so I did not provoke his response. This incident with this manager and the room issue will keep me from this restaurant in the future and quite possibly from this hotel. We had a good run though. Hope to never have to stay here again! Rooms very cramped, outdated, and loud (it becomes VERY obvious why they provide you with earplugs, sleep mask, and sleep CD!). My company had a block of 6 rooms, all on different floors, and not one person enjoyed their stay. No amenities like complimentary breakfast, or even free internet. No thanks! read more

To paraphrase Joseph Heller: Some hotels are built mediocre, some hotels achieve mediocrity, and some hotels have mediocrity thrust upon them. The Crowne on 14th and K has achieved an impressive level of over-priced mediocrity. I'm a Crowne Plaza / IHG Platinum Member and this is the worst Crowne I have ever been to. No single thing was atrocious so much as it was a combination of everything being impressively underwhelming. This all started when I called to book a hotel room for 3 straight months (Monday to Thursday), my company had an upper limit for price per night, and one of the weeks was $5 over that. I asked the reservations person on the phone (I called the local branch) if he could do something, and he said no. Underwhelming customer service experience (UCSE) #1. Next, I check in to the hotel and my heat isn't working. They send a nice fella up to my room to fix it. He messes with the unit for forty minutes and then decides to replace the actual unit. Unscrews the wall, gets a second guy, gets a cart, and brings up a different unit. He replaces it, and it's still not working. Not his fault, but the people downstairs should've offered to change my room right there. The guy apologizes and brings me two space heaters. Annoying, but no big deal... until the electricity goes out in my room. The guy comes back, fixes the electricity, gets me a power surge cable, plugs the heaters back and leaves. The electricity goes out again. I tell the front desk to change my room and they do. It's almost midnight and I wanted to go to sleep two hours ago. (UCSE #2.) In the morning, or throughout my stay, no manager calls to apologize for this inconvenience. This was an opportunity to turn a slightly negative situation into a positive one and they thoroughly failed (a couple of bonus points or free drinks could go a long way). (UCSE #3) Another problem is the concierge lounge. For dinner, the Philadelphia Crowne would have two hot apps every night, as well as a full meal on Wednesday nights. The 14th & K st one has one luke warm appetizer that looks and tastes disgusting. Breakfast was similarly terrible with no hot item, no oatmeal and English muffins that get replenished about as often as Queen Elizabeth gets laid. (UCSE #4) The clincher to this terrible hotel was when I wrote a similiar letter to the Platinum Member's customer service contact line. I received a standard boring response but it mentioned that the specific hotel would reach out to me within two days to discuss the situation. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard from them. (UCSE #5) I'm now staying at and enjoying the Marriott Renaissance on New Hampshire and M Street and recommend you do the same. read more

3 blocks from the metro. I shared this room with a group of friends who were ready to party hard one Halloween night. The room was designed very well (nothing from 1992), but it was very cramped. They managed to fit two beds and a desk in the room with about 3-4 feet of walking space. Beds were pretty comfortable, but I'm just a fan of Hampton Inns. Right in the middle of the city. Walking distance from Farragut, a short cab ride to Adams Morgan or Dupont. Not too far from the monuments and the mall. Overall a satisfied customer. read more
